Pros:
-- Nicely done backwoods environments-- parts of some maps really feel like I could be in some kind of park. -- Some cleverly designed areas that lead to fairly intense battles. -- Well-balanced horde spawns. -- Fun minigun placement in the finale. -- Extremely (!!!) impressive usage of branching paths on map 3. -- Supplies are placed where you'll need them. -- I liked the usage of cottages rather than electrical closets (whatever the little outhouse-sized buildings are) as supply depots-- they're defensible if a horde spawns, and very easy to find. -- Some very well-thought-out event areas.
Cons:
-- Lots of areas are very low-detail, and feel like very obvious tunnels and funnels. -- Plenty of warped textures. Hammer strikes again. :/ -- Maps frequently had little element of "place" about them. One the first map we went from a subterranean military bunker to an apartment. -- A bit dull between highlights.
Conclusion:
Feels like one of the first custom L4D campaigns out there (which it is), but that just makes it easier to overlook what faults it has. Fun, generally well-designed, still very playable even with the number of custom maps that exceed or surpass Valve's level of polish that you can find nowadays.
Pros:
Nice scenery AI seemed pretty good about saving you and keeping up as well as fighting. Decent length Decent difficulty Nice dispersal of weapons and ammo
Cons:
A little boring as most of it was, I guess as some call it, a forest highway. Most of the 'end of map' hoard events were the same, except the end. The end was a little easy.
Conclusion:
It's a pretty nice campaign, but nothing really stands out, in my opinion. There are no real graphical, AI or general problems with the map that I can see.
Pros:
~~~Overall~~~ -Beautiful Maps -Perfect amount of tanks and witches -Good amounts of ammo piles/guns -Good texture use -Good breaks in scenery so things don't get boring -Good AI Navigation
Cons:
Not much ~~~Map 1~~~ -AI didn't grab weapons, not sure why ~~~Map 2~~~ -Zoey was hit by a tank and got stuck in a tree. XD That's it, other than a few minor AI errors.
Conclusion:
Great campaign! One of my favorite forest campaigns out there. There were enough breaks in the forest to keep things from being redundant, and there were good amounts of tanks/witches and guns/ammo. The finale was easy, but I love the wide open spaces to fight the hoards and tanks, so for me it was great. Other than a few very minor AI errors, it was close to perfect. =]
Pros:
---- In general ---- + Wide opened areas. + Increased contrast. + AI navigation almost fluent. + Many horde events. + Many not-empty rooms to explore. + Custom textures. + Walkway down to the freeway was epic. + Real forrest feeling during the whole campaign. + Finale had a easy setup and worked out well. + Good amount of throwables and also equipment.
Cons:
---- Map 2 ---- - Special infected got stuck behind the borders sometimes. ---- In general ---- - No dialogues.
Conclusion:
Well I've played this campaign about a year ago, but never reviewed it, so I now played it again, and my final impression is, that this campaign is nearly perfect. I really had no problems, AI never got stuck and seemed to be interacting as me. The only Cons about it are that the special infected liked to spawn behind borders, where they still got us, and we had no chance to get them - and also that there were no dialogues in the beginning, nor during the campaign, nor the ending. But still, nice work!
Pros:
Great design Dead Air escape Lenght of the campaign Enough supplies
Cons:
Bots get stuck sometimes Very easy final Even thought the final was very easy, some levels and events can be really hard with bots
Conclusion:
I played this one for over a year ago. I also played it for l4d2, but by that time, I wasn't a member or just forgot to make a review of it. The final was very easy! Open areas, almost no challange, easy to defend. But some of the panic events was very hard with bots doing nothing. Almost died a couple of times. Great 2 years old campaign :)
wow nice detailed map and a good environment, good texture and more items and weapons, fun to play! :D
