      Review

The campaign looks fine except it has no textures. Supplies are very scarce and so as tier 2 weapons. Some weapons also spawn randomly and you can't even predict what you'll get as you play along. Another problem is reviving the survivors is not easy. Defibrilators spawn randomly and you rarely rescue them from a small room. The finale is wtf. At first I thought there will be a transporter that will beam you out of the map but no. Unexpectedly there is a rescue vehicle hiding behind the flames and how are we supposed to know that especially for the first time?

I'd say keep the campaign as traditional as it is, HL2 themed not orange box themed as if the texture is my major concern here.

Can't recommend in its current state. Chapters are too short in my opinion, texture work would be nice and maybe more populated rooms, maps are repetitive, a game instructor "rescue has arrived" hint, whilst not needed would be nice on the finale, maybe more supplies on the finale as well, but eh, not required. Maybe to stay consistent add an invisible wall to prevent the survivors from going back to the saferoom on the finale, unless you want to keep it this way instead of adding an ammo pile to the holdout area. I'd bump up the rating if these suggestions followed through (mostly texture and populate the environments), oh and by the way, chapter 2 and the finale have missing stringables.

To add: I don't think the repetitive nature of the maps can really be sorted, since it kinda needs the panic events to flesh it out so it isn't extremely short, in order words this doesn't translate well into L4D.

      Looks promising and works well

Though it's still in orange version, this campaign works well. Bot navigation is fine. There are only few cons though. Some walls are invisible, but it's fine as it's still in orange version. Weapon selection is also limited. Somehow I didn't see any military sniper, ak47, & autoshotgun when I played. I only got the chrome shotgun & smg, & then rifle on the finale. The finale is kind of tricky. My instinct always directed me to the rolling door, but until the 2nd tank was killed & the endless horde + tank during rescue music came, the door was still closed. I even tracked back the paths to the saferoom but there's no sign about the rescue vehicle. Then, I went back to the room where I pushed the radio & patrolled there. & the rescue vehicle was just hiding behind a room :D .
      .
Anyway, though this campaign is short, I can see that it still has potentials to tweak & make it longer & more interesting. For example, instead of just opening the doors & defending during the process of opening doors, adding some events like running to the saferoom or turning of an alarm can make it more fun. Anyway, good job, & I'm looking forward to the full version (non-orange version).

      • i might be wrong, but i think the invisible walls were intended as well.
it was a port from Half Life 2, he might've left them open on purpose.
i remember bringing this up with him before, as it got understandingly annoying to keep running into them.

      • textures were intentional, he said he had difficulties trying to get them, it might remain this way.
