Before it was overrun by aliens, the colony on LV426 was subject to another insidious threat.  Bio research that was being done in another section of the colony went horribly wrong.  The scientists became infected and started killing everyone else in the colony.  This section has so far remained untouched, but one of the colonists with you has contracted the virus.  Kill them before they can infect the rest of you, or hold yourself up somewhere in the massive building and try to survive.
