They could take a look at the precious sights of Vienna, at the ancient catacombs, the famous recreation areas, or all the other places of interest, if they would not be hunted by millions of hungry, undead Austrians.

Pros:
1 ...... Some original ideas such as the Train Ride 2 ...... Each level is a distinct entity, with varied environmetns 3 ...... Some would give this a con, but I thought the dark levels added a sense of mystery to this map. Set at night, you'd expect the levels to be dark. It would be interesting to play a daylight version. 4 ...... Well spaced events 5 ...... Good AI, though occasionally bots did get stuck, but soon reappeared. 6 ...... The last level was hard, but satisfying.
Cons:
1 ...... Did in the river several times 2 ...... Found the Turrets of little use. could do with an update with better placement. 3 ...... no events take place while on the train; this would add some interest while traveling. :)
Conclusion:
Overall one of my all time favorites (with Road to Nowhere 2, I hate Mountains, Death Aboard 2, Warcelona and Heaven Can Wait (not the recent hard one). I highly recommend this one if you want a long campaign with some original thought put into it. A dark and at times mysterious atmosphere will keep you guessing.
Pros:
AI wasn't too bad Weapons were fine, even though it was easy to get low on ammo sometimes Long enough Train was amazing Not difficult to traverse, most of the time it was a straightforward path.
Cons:
One blue and red flashing light that almost gave me a seizure Other times it was too dark to see much anything The river in map four (I believe) was a deathtrap, my entire team died a few times.
Conclusion:
A unique campaign with solid gameplay, if you can get past the lights and river.
Pros:
Custom Poster AI were helpful Long length Toxic waste Train ride!
Cons:
Lack of ammo, guns and overall items in first map. I went through half of it with my handgun. Long length might be a con to some. Lots of darkness and where there's light, it's usually flashing, which made me feel sick. Bots are helpful, but really slow. Odd placement of turrets. I mean, hordes don't happen anywhere near them. I gave up on map 3 or 4 because I got stuck in a river. My AI kept dying and I couldn't get out of it. After feeling sick from the flashing lights, I couldn't play anymore with this frustration.
Conclusion:
Nice long campaign with a nice difficulty level and nothing too major to complain about. I'd turn the brightness up if you're prone to eye strain or nausea.
Pros:
+ Long, challenging campaign. + Original toxic waste gimmick is a fun hazard. + Long maps for those who enjoy them, with multiple crescendos. + Some great set-pieces, in particular the iconic distant scenery, the vehicles used at certain points, and a breathtaking finale backdrop. + Random thing but great use/placement of alarm cars.
Cons:
- The maps are uncharacteristically long and challenging compared to official maps, which may be a con to some. - Some areas are confusing to find where to go, or annoyingly dark. - Survivor bots are usually fairly competant, but are will run into the toxic waste without a moment's hesitation when chased by a Tank etc. - The Donauturm tower on map 4 would look much better if it was in the 3D Sky Box. The way it fades in is really noticable as you approach it.
Conclusion:
Overall fantastic with lots of original ideas and locations, and plenty challlenging for those who are seeking out such a campaign. Fairly bot friendly for single players too, but be wary of them around toxic waste areas on map 4 in particular.
Pros:
+ Amazing details. + Location based on Vienna, where I'm living. + Acceptable difficulty. + Nice concepts and ideas. + Great atmosphere and feeling. + Perfect contrast in each level. + Actually huge environments and areas. + Very good AI navigation. + Very nice and non-problematic finale. + Custom skins and textures of the areas. + Good spread of supplies.
Cons:
none
Conclusion:
GREATGREAT MAP WOW THIS IS AWESOME

I have played more than a couple hundred hours of L4D and L4D2 altogether. One of my best friends lives in Austria, thought I'd start messing with mods and found yours. Everything was amazing and challenging until I got to Donauinsel (fourth map). I have probably gone 8 times through that level, the bots keep falling in the water and when I try to pull them out they die, I die. I have tried playing it in so many different ways yet I keep going through the same experience. Other than that 'complaint', I must say you are really talented and I thank you for sharing your skills with us. Have a great day. :)

I've not played any L4D2 in over a year; partly due to my best online friend passing away following chemotherapy May 2013. We used to play virtually every night and Vienna Calling was one of my favorite maps. Played it last night for the first time in over 18 months and the magic returned. A brilliant piece of work with some excellent original set pieces for example the moving train. Loved that. The levels are varied enough to keep me riveted and the events are well spaced and just about right. I like the button activated door, that only stays open for a short time. If yo don't get through quickly your team end up getting split. Makes for an interesting challenge. I haven't played the follow on Vienna Calling 2 yet. Sadly that was released around the time my friend became very ill with the chemo, so we neve p layed it. I'm planning to with some friends we used to play with over the coming weeks. I hope its as good as the firs tone. I am confused that there is another Vienna Calling 1. Is this the same as Vienna Calling, or just an update of Vienna Calling?
