Apart from classic 1911s, IMO this is the best pistol replacement mod for L4D2 so far. The new version looks even better than before.

- The shooting animation looks fine when firing single shots, but not so great when firing in full-auto

Conclusion:

This is the model I've been looking for. Recommended for everyone.

With a couple of other mods it works great at bringing back the original L4D atmosphere. Highly recommended to all who, like me, hate the L4D2 visuals. I think I'll pack it together with a couple of other mods to make a general L4D1-style mod.

I've been waiting for a military sniper rifle replacement for a long time. This one is great! I'd like a new sound though, but that's personal preference.

- It's Solomon Grundy!
- He's much scarier than Tank
- Fits in the game perfectly

Cons:

- His hands are shorter, which doesn't look good during the rock throw animation

Conclusion:

Another great model port by Splinks. This one looks actually very fitting for L4D. I'd say, he needs more Tank-like hands (like I said, rock throw looks weird). Apart from that -- great!

P.S. Adding some Grundy sounds, or maybe his voice reciting the rhyme instead of Tank music would be a very nice touch. :)

Conclusion:

I like the skin, though I'd like to hear new sounds. IMHO the skin also needs a bit more metallic shine or something like that. I'd also like to see Arby's animations a lot, the original ones don't look too good.

- Great idea in general. I love the idea of "What if..?" :)
- Creative new ways, which employ some of the areas which can be seen but not accessed in original Death Toll
- Challenging

Cons:

- L4D2 Survivors (Why?)
- Could use Tier 2 weapons A BIT earlier in the campaign

Conclusion:

Make more of these! Seeing such remakes of other classic campaigns would be great.
Don't listen to those moaning about lack of items: a campaign should be challenging! Though, like I said, Tier 2 weapons could be accessible a bit sooner, it's quite boring without them.

Pros:

- Very original gameplay
- Positions of glyphs change, creating new situations every time
- Great visuals
- Interesting and original horror-themed areas
- Great atmosphere and FEAR-like events
- Well-balanced
- Very unusual finale
- Gives an accurate representation of a district from the first Silent Hill while introducing lots of new areas

Cons:

- Average bot navigation (they keep dying constantly, reluctant to follow the players into secluded areas, staying in the streets during hordes)
- Overpowered boss (not only are the bots totally useless, but the boss has too much health. Either the amount of health should be diminished a bit, or the hordes that appear during boss fight should be removed, or at least there should be some pain pills scattered around).

Conclusion:

This campaign presents a totally new sandbox-type gameplay instead of traditional 'from-A-to-B', at the same time, unlike many original attemts, it keeps the balance and looks really great with lots of effort put into it.

Pros:

- L4D1 Survivors
- Nice visuals
- Good port (good work as always, Gemini Saga)
- Good difficulty balance

Cons:

Extremely boring

Conclusion:

First three maps are a total Call of Duty. Not in a good way (I never mean "Call of Duty" in a good way). A straight corridor through forest, nothing interesting happens. Honestly, after first three maps I couldn't make myself continue.

Pros:

- Amazing visuals and ambient sounds
- Realistic environment
- L4D1 feel
- Lots of non-linear parts
- Challenging difficulty
- Interesting events
- Interesting positioning of safe rooms

Cons:

- Somewhat repetitive environment (only forest, not necessarily a con)
- Poor bot navigation sometimes (e.g., at the very beginning one bot got stuck and didn't move, eventually got incapped by a Hunter; also lagged behind a lot)
- Lack of dialogue, can't 'feel' the story here

Conclusion:

It's a really intersting and very good looking campaign. Those, who like L4D1 and forests will especially enjoy it, even though it lacks some unusual features some new campaigns have, and at times it may get frustratingly difficult.

No new sounds or animations, but that doesn't really matter

Love the mod! Finally an UZI replacement.

Now it's my favorite AK replacement model. If the wooden parts were more reddish, it'd look exactly like post-1951 AK. Or, with a different clip texture it'd look like 1949-1951 AK. Still great!

Conclusion:

Really a very nice mod, everything works perfect. The only thing that I personally don't like is that it turns both l4d SMGs into one weapon -- the micro-Uzi -- while actually they are different weapons with different types of ammo (Uzi and MAC), which is the reason why the silenced SMG is more powerful (it uses .45 ammo, while Uzi uses 9mm), but A silenced micro-Uzi can't possibly be more powerful than a non-silenced one. But, of course, this is me just nagging. Great mod!

- Sheva -- it's what Rochelle should look like. Much more good-looking.

My favorite replacement for Rochelle. Sheva looks quite authentic in l4d environment, Rochelle's voice suits her too. Perfect!

- Too dark for most L4D maps

Models look great, but the lack of proper female model for Rochelle os kinda unnerving.

Nice reskin, but for me a 9mm pistol doesn't really work as a Magnum replacement. Would much better like a HL2 Magnum revolver replacement for L4D Magnum.

An actual remake, not just a port

Nice Hard Rain-like gameplay scheme

Crash Course!

Cons:

WAY TOO FREAKING EASY!! This campaign is increadibly easy to beat (it's hard for me to imagine that anybody found the disappearing cans bug, as I didn't die once). Just imagine:

- LOADS of guns, ammo abd bile bombs

- LOADS of medikits, too much even considering that you have to go through the same areas twice

- no Tank-events until the finale (except random Tanks of course)

- In the finale there's an office room with an ACTUAL UNBREAKABLE DOOR! You're practically invincible while inside. I haven't checked if Tanks can't break it, maybe they can, as I got out to fight them anyway, but still

Also a con: why that episode at the beginning of map 3 where a Tank falls into the saferoom and destroys it was removed in this version?

Also, a lot of invisible objects, a couple of wrong poster textures. Should've been fixed.

Conclusion:

It's a good remake of Crash Course, but gameplay-wise it's no challenge at all on anything lower than Expert. Play it for the looks.
