Pros:
-L4D Map remake -Re-invents the entire campaign -Extremely challenging -Creative with the crescendos -Encourages seraching for items -Sticks to the L4D tier system (Tier 1 mainly through the first 2 levels; fills campaigns with pistols, not melees) -Phenomenal third level -Creepiness is off the charts
Cons:
-Buggy -One crescendo is pointless and can be skipped -Is it really going to have 7 levels? If so, how do you plan on arranging that?
Conclusion:
I love this campaign, and it definately deserves to be one of the best. Almost right off the bat, the creator throws you off balance when you expect to enter the tunnel like in L4D. Thats when I knew this campaign was going to be brilliant. When he said his map wasnt a cheap conversion, he meant he was going to add entirely new segments, tunnels, caves, buildings, and more. The second level isn't too special, but is still fun to play. The third level is SPECTACULAR. The atmophere is amazing, with rainy conditions and, get this, actual lightning! Remember how in Hard Rain, you knew there was lightning, but it wasn't very clear? Clamtoll fixes that and provides breath-taking atmosphere and mood the lighting flashes, adding more to the creepometer. Then, you soon come across the all too fremiliar church. What differs this time around though is that instead of waiting for the bell to stop, you have to DESTROY it. Very creative! The fourth level is where it really got me. This map is extremely long and will make up most of the time spent in the campaign. It especially nails you when you see the saferoom, you walk forward, and wouldn't you know it, they way is blocked! Then you go on a "roof climbing adventure" just to cross 10 feet of street. The finale was interesting as well, with an added crescendo and a different escape vehicle. Death Toll was one of my favorite campaigns from L4D, but its safe to say that Clamtoll is far better.
