This reskin adds realism to the game, thanks to the real-life ammo brands. The textures are in good shape too, for people running L4D2 on the highest settings like me.

- Well, I can see that you've put some effort into this.

Cons:

- Simple Dodge/Burn work with an image overlay on the grip.
- Overlayed "Engraving" pattern. 

Conclusion:

This isn't what I'd call as a crappy skin, but it's not good either. First of all, judging by the textures in the add-on file, you only overlayed a translucent engraving pattern on the slide, used the dodge/burn tool or brightness/contrast and overlayed an image of a snakeskin grip on the grip.

Not that good, but you're getting a bit better.

Pros:

- Finally, something that's not half-assed and rushed.
- It's got phong settings; that's a start.

Cons:

- Even though it's a bit better than your previous skins, it's  still a cheap recolor and a pattern overlay. Yes, that magazine texture is also an overlay.
- The phong settings make it look too shiny.
- The magazine texture is flat for a ribbed magazine.

Conclusion:

Well darkshadow, I gotta say: you're improving, but you're not there yet. Try adding scratches and a bit wear n' tear. The phong settings make it look too shiny. Also, try to improve your normal map; the magazine's texture is too flat for a ribbed magazine. 

Pros:

- Unique retro-modern house architecture/design.
- All rooms are extremely detailed and are fully decorated.
- Quite a lot of supplies.
- The whole map is full of custom models and textures.
- Custom melee skins + custom weapon scripts + custom melee weapon.
- The house is pretty big; lots of places to make a last stand.
- Fun and challenging close-quarters combat.

Cons:

- Random framerate drops, on a gaming PC.
- Sometimes bots get stuck on the spiral staircase.

Conclusion:

So far, this is one of the most detailed and customized maps I've ever played. The unique retro-modern fusion design of the house is pretty awesome. Every single room has its purpose and is fully decorated with custom props and textures. There are plenty of supplies in the map as well. The custom weapon skins look good, and the custom weapon scripts are very, very helpful, especially when playing other maps. The custom broken billiard cue is pretty neat as well, but it shows up as an error sign on other maps and picking it up will result in the loss of FP arms. There are numerous camping spots in the house too. 

And about the cons; the framerate drops randomly on random parts of the map, I'm not sure why. It may be because I'm playing L4D2 at the highest settings, but this kind of lag does not happen on other maps. And like I said earlier, the broken billiard cue will show up as a floating error sign on other maps. The NAV at the spiral staircase is messed up as well; bots get stuck there most of the time.

In terms of design and eye candy, this map is a beast, and it would be better if it didn't lag the game too much. 

Pros:

- Elegant and creative cyberpunk/futuristic map design.
- Funky map lighting.
- It uses the L.B.A.R. formula.
- Fun and unique sandbox gameplay.
- The map is huge; you'll have plenty of space when fighting the infected.
- Plenty of obstacles to build + automated turrets.
- Very, very challenging combat, especially when playing with bots.
- Numerous camping spots.
- The low gravity is quite an advantage for the survivors.
- Matching background music.

Cons:

- The rocket takes too long to build. It would take four professional players to get to the end.
- Nasty watery surprise once the first bridge is lowered.
- The SCAR rifle cannot be obtained.
- This map could use the L4D1 survivors' support for people who would like to play it by themselves.
- This map could also use buildable miniguns/ fifties for holding out against tanks

Conclusion:

All in all, it's the good ol' Let's Build A Rocket system slapped on an awesome futuristic and challenging map. The map's neat cyberpunk design is total eye candy for cyberpunk fans like me. There's plenty of room to roam around, quite a lot of obstacles to build, automated turrets/sentry guns, and fitting background audio. The low gravity is awesome; it'll definitely get you out of a sticky situation. There are a lot of hold-out spots in this map as well, but getting to these spots itself is one hell of a problem. The doubled SI spawn rate will definitely test anyone's skills. The fun and exciting sandbox combat is the main highlight of this map; I really enjoyed building obstacles for the infected. 

Now, let's talk about the cons. The rocket at the end of the map takes WAY too long to finish. Players and  Bots would easily run out of ammo + health.  I also can't get the SCAR even though I've already unlocked it. Plus, this map could use some firepower from the L4D1 survivors. Not all L4D2 players have a butt-ton of pro friends willing to play this map with them. Buildable miniguns and fifty-cals would also be an advantage for the survivors. Oh, and watch your step once the first bridge has been lowered; you don't want to drown after all that hard work.

I'd highly recommend this map to all the L4D2 players out there. It's fun, challenging, and definitely worth the download. Just remember to hone your skills first; even pros can get slaughtered in a matter of minutes in this map.

Pros:

- Exquisite and realistic map design; room layouts in the house is very realistic.
- The Dark and gloomy atmosphere adds more realism to the map.
- No empty rooms; all rooms are finely decorated and furnished.
- The weather will really keep you inside the house.
- Numerous hold-out spots.
- Realistic weapon & item placements.
- All the camp spots will still render you vulnerable; no cheat/bugged spots.
- Fun and challenging close-quarters gameplay.

Cons:

- The interior of the house is seemingly cramped and tight for a mansion/big house.(-0)

Conclusion:

I haven't played survival mode for quite a while now, especially custom survival maps, but this map really got me in to playing survival a lot once again. The map's design is very realistic and comparable to the official maps. The atmosphere's dark and gloomy feel adds more character to the map. You won't find any empty and bare rooms in the house; about every single room is well-decorated and furnished to the brim. The intense storm that's raging outside will definitely keep you inside; fighting the infected outdoors is very difficult and challenging. This map also has a lot of tactical hold-out spots, but once you're camping on these said spots, always remember that you're still vulnerable;there are no cheat/exploit spots on this map. The main highlight of this map is the enjoyable close-quarters combat. The tight spaces makes the map very challenging and fun. Despite having a lot of awesome factors, this map still needs a bit more work. The interior of the house is too tight and cramped for a mansion. 


To be honest, this is one of the best survival maps I've ever played in a long time. The update made it much more better, and I'd highly recommend this map to all the seasoned and experienced players out there. New players beware: you'll be dead in a minute or two.

This is just beautiful. The textures are full of detail, and I'd recommend this to realism-lovers.

-the wood pattern overlay looks a little too "clean" for a "classic" AK.
-the mag texture does not fit the mag model.
-No custom normals and phong settings

Conclusion:

Congrats darkshadow, you're in the right direction. I'm glad that this isn't another camo overlay or some cheap recolor. 

But there are still a lot of flaws. If you're gonna call this a classic AK, then the wood pattern that you overlayed over the default textures are too clean. Add some scratches, dirt and shading to make it look more realistic. The texture that you pasted over the mag is for a ribbed magazine, and the magazine model of the AK ingame is somewhat that of an AK74/AKM,but that's not much of a big deal. Plus, this skin has no custom normals or phong settings. Adding a bit of shine to the gun will make it look better.

Well, I can see some improvement, but this still isn't good enough. 

Pros:

-Not a camo overlay.

Cons:

-The Monster Logo is poorly cropped.
-Just a simple recolor. Nothing more.

Conclusion:

When pasting logos over the textures of the gun, do your best at cropping it, not the 5-second crop where the background can still be seen. It's a simple recolor; nothing more, nothing less.

Pros:

-It's...black..?

Cons:

-A simple texture overlay.
-the overlay killed all the detail.
-Once more, not much effort was put into this.

Conclusion:

Well, I can see that you're experimenting on different things, but texture overlays will always kill the detail of the gun,so you'll need to add the details yourself. Plus, retexture the barrel as well. Add more scratches, or remove the default ones. 

Pros:

-Very detailed.
-Looks very realistic.
-ACDC! 

Cons:

-none that I can think of.

Conclusion:

Yet another awesome Zoey mod from Miztaegg. This is one of my favorites because ACDC brings back such good memories from back in the day.

A must-have for fans of the band.

Pros:

-Brings back some good memories from that scary-ass game FEAR 2.
-Facial Animations.
-FP arms and boomer bile textures.
-Matches the game's storyline.

Cons:

-None so far!

Conclusion:

Another great mod for Zoey. Works perfectly, has no bugs, and is complete with facial anims, first person arms and boomer bile textures. Plus, the model slightly matches with the game's storyline.

For anyone who loves women with that awesome military look, they should download this.

Pros:

-MW3 content. Nice.
-The outfit fits well with her career as a News Reporter.
-Facial anims and FP arms.

Cons:

-The left wrist is bugged, as mentioned in the comments below.

Conclusion:

A decent replacement model for Rochelle. Her fans will definitely like this. There's one bug though: the left wrist seems to be glitchy.

Once the single bug is fixed, this could be one of the best rochelle mods out there. 

Pros:

-Twice as scary as the normal smoker.
-Fits the smoker very well.
-Works perfectly ingame.

Cons:

-none that I can think of.

Conclusion:

A high-quality mod for the Smoker. Anyone looking for frightful model replacements should download this.

Pros:

-It's Sheva Alomar from RE5 with her business outfit!
-Facial Animations and Jigglebones
-FPS Arms!
-Crash-free.

Cons:

-Could use a custom HUD pic
-No shadows. Only the shadow of the weapon she is carrying shows up when you point a flashlight at her.

Conclusion:

One of the best mods for Rochelle out there. Works like a charm. It could use a custom HUD pic though, and the shadows are bugged. 

I recommend this mod to all the RE5 fans out there. You will not be disappointed.

Pros:

-McDonalds in L4D2!
-Medium-sized map: not too big, not too small.
-Custom textures and models
-The map is well-decorated.
-UFO support!
-Lots of gas cans, propane tanks and fireworks.
-Lots of supplies, weapons and ammo.
-Custom events
-Lots of places to camp.

Cons:

-The sky texture doesn't fit the map that much. Maybe use the No Mercy sky texture instead?
-The McDonalds logo could use a proper model instead of a textured surface. Also, adding selfillum to the proper model would make the logo as realistic as it could be.

Conclusion:

This map is pretty good and is fun to play alone or with friends. Tons of supplies and weapons, custom events such as the UFO and the plane crash at the start and there's a ton of places where holding out is possible. 

I could say that the texture of the sky does not fit my tastes: maybe use the texture of the No Mercy skybox instead? And the McDonalds logo at the roof of the restaurant doesn't look real at all; maybe ask a modeler to make a better, decent model and add it in the map. Adding glowing textures to this model would make it look exactly like the ones in real life.

All in all, this map is not to be missed. Definitely worth playing.
