Pros:
- Awesome balance of L4D/Minecraft utility in the map design. - The crafting events were awesome. - Awesome survivor models. - Awesome infected models! - Awesome melee models!! - Snow/rain: awesome. - Awesome Minecraft music. - Water and cobweb slowdown...awesome. - Switch-based doors, breakable doors and glass, chests you can open: awesome. - Light sources for lava, torches, fire: awesome. - Being able to walk/swim through the awesome water. - Floating zombies in the awesome large water fountain. - Awesome The End level. - Awesome Youtube celeb and site references. - Awesome Ricker beard. - Last chapter finale: aaaawesome. - Witchicken: only the best f***ing thing ever.
Cons:
The only cons I have are really just minor things, the map is so polished at this point. - I'd tone down the rain/snow particles just a hair. - I kept wanting to dig at least select blocks with the pickaxe...that and building select blocks as a secret area mechanic would be awesome. - There are a few places I was dying to get to but couldn't, like the hot air balloon! - Some older systems seem to struggle a little, not sure if there's an easy worth-it way to simplify some of the geometries. - Regular infected get stuck in a few tight places. - The lava makes for some *harsh* pain in places--like getting smoked into the lava wall for instakill while working the piston, and places where you can fall into lava and can't get out (it'd be good to have a step-up so you can get out of those).
Conclusion:
The new cut of the map is incredible. Going through it fresh, it's easy to see that everything was thought of, plus a lot of nice extras. That's usually something only full-time devs do. So yeah, this map is pro level. Can't say enough good things about it.
