Good campaign overall, some issues

I've played this map a few times through with a friend on expert over the past few months. We even completed it with just two survivors (I.E. no bots or other players). Here are my thoughts based on my experiences.

Pros:
- The music is good
- The environment is well designed. It looks like it could be an official map for the most part. The sky is also beautiful.
- The crescendo events are all well balanced and match the design of events in the official maps.
- The finale is enjoyable, for the most part. The scavenge bit is not too hard, and then it has a Swamp Fever-style finale afterwards.

Neutral:
- The maps are not really forgettable nor memorable. With some effort I can picture the maps and what takes place in each part. This is after completing the map several times. This campaign is better than most 5 map campaigns in that regard, but not as memorable as say I Hate Mountains, Suicide Blitz, Urban Flight, etc. Part of this is due to the terrain and textures never changing. 

Cons:
- As someone who has played dozens of custom campaigns on expert and realism, I have to fully disagree about the spacing of supplies. Maps 2-4 are barren and dry when it comes to ammo, pills, weapons, etc. On map 2 in particular the entire team was limping into the saferoom at literally 1 HP. This might be fun for some people, but due to the length of the maps, having to restart that close to the end after a surprise horde is annoying. It's not that my team is incapable of playing the map, it's that there are literally no health items to use. Compared to other official and custom maps, there's no items. On map 3 on the highway, we went more than 66% of the map without finding a single set of pills or adrenaline; all we had was our kits from the saferoom. Map 4 has far too many empty rooms and dead ends with no supplies.
- The finale has crashed twice for me and my friend, months apart. In other words, yes, we wasted an hour and half on two separate occasions and the game crashed during the finale for no apparent reason. Additionally, once this finale crashes, music does not work on my dedicated server, even after multiple restarts. It takes a while for it to get "fixed". Presumably this is due to the custom music.
- Speaking of the finale, if you "use" the radio a second time before the game tells you to go get cans, the gates will never raise and you will be stuck there. Happened to us. Not the best design.

I hope you'll be able to pinpoint and fix the issues with the finale in particular. We cannot play the map anymore due to the risk of it crashing. As far as supplies go, I challenge people to actually play through the map on expert, perhaps with random people, to see just how little there is on maps 2-4. This map is better balanced for expert than most campaigns, but it's still not to a level where it can be enjoyed regularly, IMO.

Legendary

After having originally played this campaign over two years ago, I feel it is finally time that I sat down to review it, given all the fun I've had from it. 

This campaign remains, for me, the most beautiful and well designed custom campaign for Left 4 Dead 2. Every section of every map feels like it has a purpose; it's graphically gorgeous, and with the right mods (HD Color Correction and Informal Skyboxes come to mind) it is simply breathtaking. Unlike other custom maps that are based on real-life locations or feature radically different environments, Urban Flight actually feels like it would be right at home being an official campaign in this game, with it's tastefully generic and stereotypical zombie-city-setting. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with creativity, but this campaign follows the L4D formula so well that even many of the official campaigns are bland in comparison.

The maps felt ridiculously long during the first playthrough, but given a few playthroughs, they became manageable. This campaign rewards you for learning the layout; you learn to check back rooms for magnums. You learn to check boats and trucks for bile jars on the third map. You know how to effectively use supplies on the finale, and so forth. Many custom maps don't do this; they feature unchanging supplies every map, give you too many items, or give you too little. Urban Flight mostly does a great job in this area. 

There are some criticisms I could make, but they're only minor complaints that have surfaced after several years of playing. The finale is definitely hard, as others have mentioned; my friend and I have struggled a lot to beat it on expert two or three times. It's never frustratingly hard though; it rewards you for smart play (and saving all the bile jars!). My excellent gaming machine still chokes quite a bit in the park area on the third map. 

Despite things like this, Urban Flight is truly one of my most enjoyable experiences in gaming, period. I recommend that any Left 4 Dead 2 player try it out. :)

Pros:

 Every item in the game is present (and there's no melee line in the mission file, so it spawns all melees)
- Going along with the first one, actually puts the Heavy Machine Gun to use 
- Lags a bit when first loading in, but otherwise is lag free (can't say the same for other popular survival maps)
- Lots of of variation in the areas to hold out
- It's great to have a day and night version
- Overall works excellent both as an easier survival map with bots (won't get quad capped in three minutes), and as a testing map for new addons
- Whitaker's room is amusing

Cons:

All of these are mostly minor, but I wasn't sure where else to put them :)
- The hanging vent cover in the gun room blocks you from walking under it, even though it looks like there's room
- Bots don't seem to take the weapons that you spawn in front of
- It's kinda hard to get down by means of the ladders in the front, would it be possible to make it so you can't hang off of the ledge, or add a staircase?
- I might be wrong on this, but it looks like there's more fog on this map than regular Dead Center. Seems excessive on the daytime version

Conclusion:

A great map overall. Perfect adaption of an existing/underused L4D2 environment. Like I said, also doubles as a "testing" map, just feels like a good test map all around. Could use better navigation and better bot knowledge.
