This has been placed in my Steam>SteamApps>common>left 4 dead>left 4 dead>addons folder to no avail. It isn't working there. Hasn't been any help for the guy who posted two weeks earlier than me so I'm not expecting much help here.

have you ever heard of editing pak01_dir? not all of the l4d1 mods can just be placed in the addons folder.
