      Review

*COPIED FROM PART 1 Nearly a perfect campaign. The only problems where optimization issues on chapter 3 and 4. Chapter 3's weren't that bad as the ping returned to normal soon after you leave the starting building. Chapter 4's however was a constant 140 ping (as host!), which, unless you're the host will offer completely unplayable gameplay. Also i think one of the bots spawned outside the saferoom on chapter 4, and it took a while for them to teleport to me, but nothing major, they just couldn't gear up before the adventure began. Other changes I'd recommend are less jumpscares, although funny are somewhat pointless, ahhh you can keep them if you want! And make the finale less generic, because as it currently stands it's pretty bland and could use a revamp. The rest of the campaign though was a lot of fun, and I appreciate the changes/additions since the last version. Plenty of supplies and unique scenarios to go through, worth a go!

Good start but needs some polishing

I have mixed feelings about this campaign On one hand I am a Stargate fan and !Really! like the overall level design. The fact that it has so many scripted events and voice-overs is really impressive and showcases how much work went into creating it. On the other hand there is so much built in trolling that it completely breaks the immersion of the campaign. I will admit I loved the portal Easter egg and some of the pop culture references however at the end o the day it all boils down to the fact that immersion needs to be maintained especially if your going for a story driven narrative campaign with a strong theme. Easter eggs and other pop references shouldn't be too obvious or out of place and there needs to be some moderation so that it fits in with the overall theme of the campaign. The only truly negative aspect of the campaign were the full screen screamer images. Aside from messing up your ability to aim, I don't really think it fits in at all unless there is some narrative explaining why they are there. Things like this are a major turnoff for some players myself included. Who knows there might be an explanation for the screamers but I will admit I didn't finish the campaign because they became too frequent and annoying. As much as I really want to love this campaign and slap on a 5 star review on it, the overall quality is being dragged down by the random screamers. (Although being a beta I am actually starting to wonder if these are just placeholders for some event that hasn't been scripted yet ?)

Abundant contents that having developed for 5 years

+ Many jump scares really terrify the players in level 3.
+ Clear hints tell the players what to do.
+ Enough supplies even more than that player's demands.

      • Thanks for your review!!

I'm very happy that you liked the campaign. I keep working and improving it little by little every week.
Answering to your question, I'm not sure that I'll develop a version with the L4D2 survivors beyond a possible cameo on this campaign.

I started playing L4D1 when Turtle Rock developed it, and I have always liked the charisma of the L4D1 survivors. So that's why I've focused on the idea of RESURRECTING BILL, after The Sacrifice and make this unnoficcial story based on Stargate idea to survive the Infection on another planets...

        Thanks a lot!!!
        Greetings.

      • Check your L4D2 or check the amount of mods installed on your L4D2, some of then can make trouble.
Other people played this with mods and without mods, and worked fine for them...

I can't help you when the problem is not present in all the people have play the campaign.

¿Do you try start the campaign directly on second map to check if your problem is still there?

Sorry about this, but i can't help you with your own version of L4D2. I don't know what do you have installed there.

;-) thanks anyway for trying it. I'm sad that i can't help you with this.

      Looking Good. Solid Update.

This was a pretty hefty update from the last version. The first half or so is pretty much the same, but the 2nd half has a lot of changes and new additions. I like the English translations that are present throughout almost the entire campaign now. It helps me follow the narrative and I like the way you did it too. The bots don't always pick up health/pills, but they also didn't suicide anywhere and were generally pretty useful to me. This is also a nice, long campaign. Took me 2.5 hours with bots on advanced and no restarts.

Only a few complaints. First, there are too many health kits. In some areas it's helpful, but in most areas it just makes things too easy. Second, there were 2 parts of the campaign where my ping spiked up to 100-150ms. I was hosting, so I shouldn't have gone beyond the default 5ms. It was playable and generally fine for me, but if someone joined my server they'd probably be spiking to 300+ms and wouldn't be playable for them. I can't remember the first area, but it was very brief. However, the entire cave level was like that. Something going on in that level that spikes the latency. Maybe the tanks.

Overall, this was great. Awesome to see a sizeable update to an old campaign. It just needs to be a little harder. On advanced with bots, the only part that got my anxiety peaking was the cave level when all the tanks came out, but I just sacrificed my bots and ran.

Oh, and I'm glad the dinosaurs are still around.
