I prefer the Enhanced version in some ways, mainly because it has fewer issues and higher difficulty, key searching tasks also actually encourage me to explore more instead of just running to the saferoom.
Reposting my review for the Enhanced version: 80% of the time it's a bit bland, but overall it's great. Amazing details and atomsphere. Silent Hill OST also makes this campaign praisable. Recommended for experienced players - although it's not difficult at all, but I'm afraid that the surprising length will drive beginners crazy.

      Review (REPOST FROM SOURCE)

Remember. Left 4 Dead 2 is not Silent Hill. It is very unforgiving when you die, the maps are WAY too long so if you die, you have to spend another 10+ minutes getting back to where you were. Bland design in some places (guess you can blame Konami) so it was pretty damn boring walking in a single direction, a straight line for the majority of the time. Very confusing were to go at times, guess you can blame me for not liking puzzles. The bot navmesh on the final map is a tad bit bad where bots seem to like going through the water rather than on land and end up drowning themselves. Also on the second last map I couldn't figure it what to do, it may be broken. i pressed the elevator button multiple times and nothing happened. Other than that, pretty grand. Custom textures were a nice touch, custom character models, special infected, sounds and some of the chapters had descent design.

It was good, but it could be better

This map was great and beautiful.

Also, the ending of the story was very shocking.

But in my opinion there were problems with the map mechanics.

1_ There are no guide signs and it causes getting lost.
2_Puzzle requests, especially key puzzles, were very annoying.
3_ The fog in the game is very intense and causes blindness.
4_Severe shortage of ammunition and health packs.
5- Urban areas are too big and cause disorientation.

This map is great, but it needs some important changes for the comfort of the players.

I prefer this one than the modified ver with tons of keys

Yeah, this is the old version before someone ruined the campaign with tons of keys at very wide & explorable outdoor areas. I hate that, not because I hate finding keys but because it's like finding needles in haystack to find tiny keys at such very very wide areas, & the keys are even randomized on their spawn locations (the difficulty rose to be higher than map 1 of the old SH with 12 maps, thanks to those absurd keys). & this one sticks to Leafo's original version without the unnecessary keys at very very very wide area. So, for those who don't like to waste time in finding absurd keys like that, this one is the good choice.

So far I didn't get errors like witch model etc (I didn't use any witch skin mod), as the only error I got was the missing vgui icon for normal shotgun (I forgot whether it's pump shotgun or chrome). & also the finale is so quiet without special infected & horde (basically the finale is just an exploration map). If you can update it with horde & special infected, that would be great.

Well in short, it's a good work to bring this older version back here, so people can have some choices when playing this campaign.

Almost complete rip-off of Leafo's work. Disappointed, but unsurprised.

So, I actually decided to gather up all my patience and make a full run to give this campaign a proper review, because why would I shit on the work that I haven't even tried yet? So I did. This version is almost exactly the same as the original upload by Leafo, which once again brings the question? - Why does it exist?

      Pros:
      - Sure, it fixed the broken flow error in the 1st chapter, that presents in both the original and Pops version, but christ. You can just restart the whole campaign once and it will be fixed.
      - Sure, it removed the darkness filter, but you can cause a black and white state in Pops version on one of the Survivors, greatly improving the vision of this survivor and thus, he'll be able to scout ahead, which encourages the teamwork.

      Cons:
      - High ping issue in the 2nd map on transition from the mirror room still presents, which will persist for the remaining duration of the level. If you get wiped and the level gets restarted, you will have to deal with this for the whole duration of the map. (which is the longest btw) Had this been fixed, maybe it would be enough to actually give it 4/10.
      - The lack of Pops gameplay changes, (the infamous key search simulator) destroys the purpose of many areas in the whole campaign. I literally ran through the whole 3rd map to the saferoom, skipped probably 50% of the areas and completed the level in 5 mins, thanks to my good knowledge of the map. (Same case with the 5th map)
      - Same as the original, this version doesn't disable default ambience, which will overlap with the intended campaign's OST and ruin the atmosphere.
      - Many malfunctioning navblockers (cause the infected to spawn in locked out areas, making them susceptable to cheesy strats)
      - Missing Alone in The Town OST from SH2 in the finale! (Minor issue for some or for many, but this is actually the reason I sometime play this campaign)

      Conclusion:
      - If the author is really willing to make a difference here, he'll have to work real hard to do so. If the Pops gameplay changes really bother you, and you don't want to deal with broken flow error, this version may work as an Easy Mode of this campaign. However, as it stands right now, the lack of changes and fixes compared to the original upload by Leafo, does not justify it's existence. I would have actually reported this as a stolen work.

      crashes on startup

Every time with models/infected/witch.mdl. Tried without and with the fix. Not only that, it appears that it also causes other games to crash with the same error message. To clear it, I need to uninstall the mod. Unfortunate - because it looks great.
