Steam Games "Ping Issues" When Using a Lenovo Computer

  • Found everytime I connected to steam my ping would crash (tried various games). Road runner speed test showed my network dropped from 600 Mbps to 6-7 Mbps when connected. My (in game) ping would start out at 25-30 and then jump to over 900 within 5 mins or less. Read in random online forums that someone had removed their Lenovo Vantage software and it fixed it (preinstalled on my Legion computer). It did the same for me. However, in another forum I saw that Lenovo was acknowledging that there was some sort of network issues with their Vantage software and it was being looked into. Decided to reinstall the software back (taking into account that it may have been corrected by now) and now the problem is gone. Could have just been a corrupt install / bad image from the factory or they fixed it? Either way, things are working again the way they should with it reloaded back on. So if you are having the same issue try this fix. I think on their laptops they called it Lenovo Nerve Center and it was supposed to be being replaced with something else? Good luck.

  • over the past few months this year, Steam / Left 4 Dead servers were victims of DDOS attacks
however, it's been said it's been resolved but it remains to be seen
maybe it's just a coincidence in the end
