In the Nevada Desert, the U.S. Army have built a Military base around an ancient 'alien tomb' and after years of trying have managed to open it. Four survivors heard rumors of a fortified safe zone in the base, but have no knowledge of the tomb nor what will await them upon arrival... 4th JULY 2014 - NEW VERSION RELEASED! Many thanks to JMantis for the custom soundtrack, bunny for custom models, and my playtesters for their help (particularly csz and faluhsi). Feedback welcome on this new version!

Ok Kev im a big fan of your work but i must say this. You broke 149 completely with this last modifications. It was fantastic unique campaign with a feeling that player is exploring actual military complex with offices etc....and now what is this? Few simplified and "dumbed down" rooms with heaps of corpses? Where is the expression and atmosphere in it? Its like working in big corp like "R" washed your brain and broke your natural mapper instinct you were born with. Get back to your roots man ! Old version 9.5/10 New version 6/10
New areas are nice, and integration of some of the older, familiar places is great too. Love the atmosphere, and the 'feel' of the campaign. Lots of large open areas is fun to move through.
Far too many resources. Healthkits, defibs, pills,adren, ammo piles, throwables... its too much. Makes the run through way too easy. I got to finale on expert with 3 bots without getting killed. A few close calls but i found there to be lacking the challenge of the previous version. Too easy to find safe, defensible positions when a hoard does come. With friends, finale was doable after a few tries. Again, way too many powerful resources to be found before getting to the finale area. Please consider getting rid of the colour changes. Its so annoying that i dont feel like playing it again due to this (or at least quitting at finale). Needs more aggressive hoards, SI, and 'events'.
Adds great new areas and reworked old areas. However, it adds too many resources, and not enough aggression from infected. Would love normal lighting in finale. Still, i would recommend it. I loved the original and this one still feels great to play.

Do you have any other custom campaigns installed? If so here's a trick that has helped me countless times. If you're only downloading maps from this website just make a second Addons folder and put all of the other custom campaigns in there so that One 4 Nine is the only campaign in the default Addons folder. This may help to make sure no other custom campaign might interfere with it. After you are done playing just move all the other custom campaigns to the default Addons folder again.
Yeah as JMantis said this will be an issue specifically on your computer to do with other campaigns causing file conflicts with Valve assets. If you don't want to move files around between directories, it should work ok if you just untick everything except One 4 Nine in the L4D2 Addons menu system to disable those campaigns.
The last version before this has packed size around ~150mb, now it's bumped up to almost ~290mb O.o Quite big. I wonder if there are a lots of changes... Yes, I'd prefer with L4D1 survivors, but I'm with campaign author whatever his decision is.
Yep, this update isn't just a couple of minor fixes here and there, pretty much every aspect has been polished, some areas totally rebuilt, and the addition of the new custom soundtrack will have increased the filesize by a lot too.
The L4D1 survivors will be returning. He only swapped them due to issues with custom music. We may be able to fix this. Kev has said he does prefer the L4D1 survivors anyway. No one will be forced to a certain game. Play whatever you prefer and shush.
After playing with either group of survivors for so long I don't really have a preference. What would be cool is if Nick could play alongside Francis with all new dialogue. That would interesting.
