Not going to rate this campaign. You should definitely move your campaigns to the "versus" category, no point having them in the campaign category if they don't work at all in campaign mode. Regardless I will ignore the campaign related issues and talk about the levels. I do prefer the original Dead Air for sure. The one thing I do like is the introduction of the docks chapter from the comics, even if the map doesn't play very well (confusing where to go and the really narrow bits at the end.) I find the choice to have chapter 1's saferoom not actually safe very weird, but I guess it gives the infected an opportunity to have one last attack. (Although maybe in versus mode there's no actual crawl ladders to get on the rooftop, but regular infected can still spawn there.)

The new areas introduced are... not great. They definitely leave a lot to be desired and are generally very barren and boring, and take away the charm of my favourite retail campaign.
I'm not sure how I feel about there being so many choke points, it feels extremely cheap when a survivor gets screwed over because he was a second too late to jump down to the next area, if your team is skilled it's not a problem, but there's too many on chapter 2.

Getting rid of the panic events for gauntlets makes sense for versus mode and replacing them with gauntlet sections, even if the logic of said gauntlets placements makes no sense when it comes to world-building, but granted rather irrelevant in competitive play.

I know bots aren't very important in versus, but you should at least make sure your navmesh works properly, it's very bad on chapter 2 especially (pretty much broken) and could use polishing on all maps.

I would just flat out cut the finale map since you made it an insta win, no point to it being here.

That's pretty much all I have to say, I prefer the original.

      Dead Air: Redux

I recently had the chance to play through this campaign. Overall, I found the experience to be underwhelming.

One of the main issues I encountered was that most of the new areas in the map were mostly empty and felt quite repetitive. Additionally, most of the campaign is one to one with the original, and the panic events were mostly turned into gauntlets. If you like gauntlets then maybe that's a positive for you. However, I personally felt that this change made the gameplay more monotonous.

I hesitate to give this campaign a recommendation at all. It didn't offer significant enough differences from the original Dead Air, which I personally find more enjoyable to play. Unless you're really bored and looking for something slightly different from Dead Air, I'd suggest sticking with the original campaign.

Lastly, I want to point out that the finale is broken, making it impossible to complete the campaign without using cheats. This further dampened the overall experience for me.

This campaign had potential but it just didn't do anything for me. Unless you're seeking a very slightly different experience from Dead Air, consider playing a different campaign instead.
