Welcome to The Official Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Restoration Project (by Sourcerer)



Introduction
The Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Restoration Project, developed by a passionate team known as Sourcerer, preserves Left 4 Dead's history and early development by the remaking the Left 4 Dead 2 Beta Demo. This project allows players to relive the long-lost and unique Left 4 Dead 2 E3 2009 Beta experience!

Inforrmation
- Parts 1 and 2 REQUIRED for play.
- Ensure that all other mods are disabled prior to subscribing.
- This mod is heavily scripted and will be at the cost of most base-game functions.
- To maintain faithfulness to the original product, you will be limited to Campaign Modes, The Parish Campaign, and Local Servers

Enhanced Folder
The Enhanced folder consists of more E3-related content that cannot be activated by a simple VPK replacement. It can be opened using the external program GCFScape.

Sourcerer requires that if another content creator wishes to re-upload exclusive content, Gigan, or another developer, must be notified with a valid reason for doing so. This is not only for the protection of our assets, but also for the rightful protection of donated content, as well as Valve assets. If Sourcerer finds any unofficial rereleases without permission, Sourcerer will file for copyright. Not removing the item will result in a report.

Instructions

Ensure that all non-E3 mods are disabled prior to adding the Beta Pack to your addons folder. The content is heavily scripted so most gameplay functions are within their E3 limitations.


1. Go to Left 4 Dead 2 in your Steam Library
2. Click Settings
3. Click Properties
4. Click Local Files
5. Click Browse
6. Go into left4dead2/addons
7. Drag the l4d2betapackv.vpk file into your Left 4 Dead 2 Addons folder.

1. Open the Betapack.vpk using GCFScape.
2. Drag the folders to a safe destination.
3. Open the Enhanced Folder.
4. Follow the readme prompts for further guidance.

-Early color changing spitter acid
-Beta animations
-Beta loading screens
-That blue bar loading progress
-No none Early beta weapons
-Better AI
-Better ROCHELLE
-Beta skins
-No Defibs
-Beta charger sounds
-Metal bat model
-Beta chainsaw
-Beta cricket bat
-No stupid riot police
-New Infected skins
-CEDA infected in Parish
-Beta dialogue
-Fire axes in parish
-Beta melee animations
-More shotgun ammo
-Scar is automatic
-Beta Parish horde music
-Beta common infected skins

Cons:

-Shotgun Flickering
-Pistol animations (I can see the unprogrammed void)
-Everything else not in the beta
-Damn L4D1 Medkit animations not working
-Y WE NO WORK IN SWAMP FEVER

Conclusion:

I'm rating my own mod. this is sad.
