Description

Three unused infection sounds found in the music folder have been restored. These will trigger when revealing a large area, with or without any infected present.

You can hear one of the sounds played in the PAX 2009: Left 4 Dead 2 – Slide gameplay video.

I am aware of the existing mod Beta Infection Music Restored by miru. However, this addon simply adds the 3 unused infection music tracks while keeping the original A Glimpse of Death (glimpse) music intact.

NOTE: 
* A navigation mesh (nav mesh) must be present in the map for the sounds to trigger.
* This addon modifies game_sounds_music.txt. Using multiple addons that also modify this file may cause conflicts or crashes.
* This addon will not work just by putting into your addons folder. You need to manually install it into your game's directory.

Modification Instructions

The following instructions may require you to modify or replace core game files. Follow the instructions below to complete the installation process. It is recommended to backup files before editing in case the modification conflicts or fails to run properly.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Use GCFScape to open the InfectMusic.vpk file.

2. Navigate to the game's directory: ...\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2 inside your Steam directory.

3. When the download is finish, extract the infectmusic folder from the InfectMusic.vpk file to the main Left 4 Dead 2 folder.

4. In the left4dead2 folder, open gameinfo text file. Make sure to back it up before editing.

5. Scroll down to SearchPaths section. It should look like this: 		SearchPaths
		{
			Game				|gameinfo_path|.
			Game				update
			Game				left4dead2_dlc3
			Game				left4dead2_dlc2
			Game				left4dead2_dlc1
			Game				left4dead2
			Game				hl2
		}

6. Inside the curly braces and on top of Game update, add the following line: 			Game				infectmusic

7. Save the file and start the game.
