Tartarus' Judgement

Tartarus' Judgement is a modpack I have been developing since February 2025; initially, it was a simple collection of Workshop mods and SourceMod plugins that I used to play exclusively with my friends. However, as the months went by, I kept adding content until, in 2026, I decided to increase the difficulty and integrate more mods and plugins to make the experience more fun. I have also modified several of the original Workshop mods to balance the pack as effectively as possible, making it fully beatable in a single "Realism Expert" run.

Since 2025, I have learned a great deal about how L4D2 and its code work. To ensure the modpack doesn't crash, I configured it to run on a 2024 version of L4D2, as that is the most stable version compatible with all the content; consequently, the modpack will not work on the current Steam version. However, if you obtain the required 2024 version, it will run perfectly.

The modpack also works flawlessly in Versus mode and includes extra features for player-controlled Special Infected.

I consider the modpack complete; any future content I add will simply be to provide extra features.

L4D2 version required for the modpack to function fully:

NetworkVersion=2.1.0.0
PatchVersion=2.2.3.4

To check your L4D2 version, go to the "Left 4 Dead 2" folder, then into the "left4dead2" folder, and scroll down until you see a file named "steam" with an icon showing a blank document and a gear. Open it to view your L4D2's NetworkVersion and PatchVersion.

You can run this modpack on the latest Steam version, though several features will be disabled due to Valve's restrictions. However, if you don't want the hassle of finding a specific 2024 version of L4D2, you can play it on the latest Steam version—just be aware that there will be bugs.
