BF3 Weapon Sound Mod
Left 4 Dead 2
This mod replaces sound effects for all firearms; this includes CSS weapons, as well as the .50 Cal and minigun. Replaces pipebomb explosions as well. Reload sounds are apparently bugged in the VPK, so I've added a DDL link to the pack itself in the changelog. Also updated the AK's firing sound.

Could we possibly get a video? I love BF3, so I'm interested to see the sounds. Personally the SCAR has the best sounds of BF3 if you ask me.

Pros
Weapon firing sounds are from BF 3, course they are great
Additional option to download sounds files separately (non vpk.) (link in the changelog)
Cons
90% positive that the reload sounds are not from BF 3 (can't be helped i suppose, BF 3 reload sound times do not match those of L4D2)
Due to no matching reload and firing sound, BF 3 immersion is not at its best (then again if you want total immersion you can just play BF 3 itself)
some of the reload sounds sound lackluster, particularly the shotguns
occasional distortions even after snd_rebuildaudiocache and snd_updateaudiocache
An Overall Very Awesome sound port. I was going to rate it an 8 due to lackluster reload sounds but the option to download and install the files manually is invaluable, giving freedom of customization. Kudos authors for being the first ones to upload the sound files separately. pop champagne*

Hey guys i've actually found out why the sounds so terrible. The majority of this guy's weapons sounds do not match the length of Valve's sounds. Im modifying them right now so it won't make any terrible noises.

MikeManiac61. You are a stupid guy. Congrulations! JUST extract the sound folder from the vpk and replace your sound folder in "left4dead". then, snd_rebuildaudiocache. So easy .... Dont cry.

@WilliamOverbeck i've done that three times actually and still scratching sounds. Any other useful suggestions?
@Milko101 Im doing it for myself really, i don't mean to offend the author im just saying on why his sounds were still making strange noises and wanted to offer some help. I actually love his sound mod and wanted this for awhile cuz i can't find this anywhere else

Kid. You know L4D2 has in built timers for the weapon sounds along with anything else. Recache or not, The files have to be changed to ensure 100 percent functionality.

If you got scratching sounds while using these sounds... REBUILD THE F*CKING AUDIO CACHE!

Tried it on my gf and friends pc and rebuilding the cache solved the problem for them... but not on my mac.
Seems quite a few mods do not work well on macs. Oh well... lucky us, there are other mods. Got the star wars one and it's funny. :)

Open vpk on mac with this tool, since addon support is not available on macs.
Replace the Weapons folder in the lfd2 folders with the one in the VPK file, then rebuild the audio cache with the snd_rebuildaudiocache command in the console screen.
Now the fix works! :)

-most of the sounds work good

-inconsistency in how loud certain sounds are
-some of the sounds just sound plain bad and silent
-a lot of these sound screech. the magnum reload forexample sounds like a distorted raptor.
it is a really promising sound pack, but it will need alot of work. most notably the pump action sounds for the shotguns are very silent and sound nothing like anything ive heard in bf3.

The gunfire sounds are pretty good but all reloading and shotgun pump sounds are low quality and have screeching noises. snd_rebuildaudiocache doesn't seem to fix anything at all.
Still looking forward for updates, iwth some improvements this could be really good.

a mod that has the same flaws as any other battlefield 3 soundpack please fix it man it is awesome but the scratching sounds are a real bummer for me 5/10
