Well i was wondering when somebody would make a L4D campaign out of the HL2 beta maps, and here we are, the cut Air Exchange chapter. The puzzles that were intended for this chapter are absent in this L4D2 port, that being the shock trap and the vent jumps or whatever you'd like to call them. I think the campaign could definitely benefit from a soundscape, (I'd highly recommend the beta Citadel soundscape, I think it would work very well in the interior sections.) as it does feel a bit empty and lifeless just like the HL2 beta maps lol. The mapping is definitely a product of it's time, very blocky and doesn't look that great by todays standards, but the two maps the campaign comes with are pretty enjoyable albeit can certainly be confusing. Thankfully the author was courteous enough to include arrows almost everywhere, so getting lost shouldn't happen too much. The finale's a good idea, but a bit underwhelming as it doesn't actually function like a gauntlet finale, although I completely understand that it wouldn't really be possible to set a gauntlet finale up since you have to backtrack (at the very least there'd be no specials or random hordes until it starts.) For what the author had to work with it's a good attempt, as much as I like the idea of the HL2 Beta, the maps themselves are pretty bad ngl. I would not recommend playing this with bots, they will probably be quite an inconvenience as there's a lot of ladders and a few elevators. I'd recommend giving it a try with humans, you can't really go wrong with playing this, just don't expect something phenomenal.

a:5:{s:5:"title";s:21:"Amazing campaign!?";s:4:"text";s:302:"Impressive environment and graphics! I played it several times in a row and I took 198 screenshots. Many of them with noclip.? I love the maps so much, especially the second one, that I'm giving this campaign a 10, even though bots had trouble navigating. Maybe they were afraid of heights.?";s:6:"rating";d:10;s:5:"image";s:40:"5e0f7d781a0038b137cbfbea1670a8e0b1c54e48";s:8:"spoilers";N;}Edited: March 2025
