  • There are less & less people making maps for L4D2. You should be grateful that at least there are still some people willing to make custom maps for L4D2. & making maps takes much time depending on the quality. If it's just an orange map with simple scripts, that can be made faster. But for a map with many details on buildings, environments, scripts etc, it will take more time to make.

Well in other words, unless you donate to the map creators, at least try to appreciate their works on making free campaigns for L4D2 players. They took days or even months to make & fix bugs, & even they made it for free. Just be grateful that they still have good dedication for this game.

  • There are also fewer people making mods for this game as well, as some have retired and or moved on from a 2009 game. I think kurochama is spot on regarding maps, but also it should be kept in mind it can take quite a while to make and test mods too. And VERY few modders of any kind ever get paid for their time or creativity.

I do think towerpainter that you have a point though, in that some people make something just to say they did make that map or mod. And they often release completely untested works that are definitely lacking in quality, and they shouldn't. I guess some people don't have much pride in their work anymore. :(
