Immediately I must give praise to all the reskins that this campaign has done; also all the compliments on the 3rd map for making it the most unique experience I have seen in this game in a long time and all the compliments for making the best snow themed campaign out there (at least for me). The whole campaign feels like Valve made if they decided to make one snow based map. It is fun to play, diverse, balanced and has excellent bot navigation. Only complaint is in the later part of the campaign where the layout quality drops a bit in terms of roads traveled. Still an excellent campaign that I would gladly replay a few times over and probably will.
About time I got around to playing this, and yep, a perfect 10/10 campaign. The lighting, atmosphere and map layouts are pretty much on point, had no problems with the campaign, very well done to the developers. The custom models are also a great touch and personally; didn't care for the custom dialogue, but hey, I suppose it's refreshing after being so used to the vanilla voice clips. Maybe it's just me but I am surprised that there wasn't much survivor chatter, I've already heard the community lines for winter-themed campaigns on other campaigns before, but they woulda been a nice touch. (look at me being a pessimist :P)
EDIT: Ignore that previous statement, prolly not hearing most dialogue due to mod conflicts, typical.
It's been a long time since I wrote my last review. However, considering the quality of Cold Front, I think leaving a review is the least I can do to share how amazing this campaign is. First of all, the "Escort" mission with Mike was an exceptional addition, I must admit that my dad and I were caught by surprise, really happy to see such additions. The environment is perfect, although the screen shake during the snowstorm can be (at least for me) a bit annoying at times. In this regard, I should also point out that L4D2 doesn't have a proper way of recreating a snowstorm, so no points deducted for that. It's worth mentioning that I didn't experience any glitches until the last map, where my game crashed but not my dad's, indicating a problem on my end, probably due to some conflicting mod. Overall, a very well done campaign with a lot of incredible set pieces.... 100% worth playing!
One of great campaigns in 2024. The best impression is when there's Mike & escort mission. Probably this is the first campaign doing escort mission when there's another bot-controlled survivor taking the lead & other survivors have to cover him when he's doing things. So far, supplies are balanced, as ammo piles can be found quite often along the way.
Well, this one becomes one of 2024 campaign collections.
I played for 42 minutes and enjoyed every minute of it! Layout of maps were big and lots of fun to explore, did not have any issues playing. Not sure what to improve since it really good. Anyway, looking forward to your next campaign... ripper
