      I Enjoyed Your Work

Finished your work in 2hrs & 45min & 8 Restarts on Expert Single Player Mode.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st Chapter (Restarted 3 times) was so tough for me especially when it started with "Here They Come" script and hordes came everywhere. I died there and spawned in that closet on the other side, but bots were not programmed enough to go from that way down there and move according to the right navigation to get to me so it all went in vain and the regular incoming attacks killed them while bugging around my closet trying to get me out. Another time it was the tank that was waiting for us to move after horde attacks and it even showed up along with hordes once I moved ahead to that t2 shotgun.I encountered that button above the railhouse that was not activated once I was there as I kept pressing E but nothing happened till it worked on its own or one lucky pressing activated it. bots were moving up and down that roof as if they wanted to get something like pills or any item. FPS dropped once or twice as the screen froze and I remember I had to shut down the game and start over. There was a witch at that time I finished that chapter. I took care of everything. It was little bit long, but it was fine for me.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd Chapter (Restarted Twice) was shorter than expected and that time when I died was because of that tank that showed up and kept chasing me after it incapacitated them all after that fireplace and it surprised me coming from over that roof and I was late to move and avoid its punches. The time I passed that chapter found like 2 witches right before the safe door walking while the steam was blinding me, but I managed to take the right steps towards the safe room and the bot left was a bait to witches and even incoming specials and hordes. I remember I survived alone.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3rd Chapter (Restarted Once) was short too and we encountered a tank before that pump house and hordes were so many scattered everywhere on the way to that pump house. I already activated that button and saw health kits and supplies. Again lame bots were going up and down and I remember Rochelle was stuck down there and got incapacitated by hordes, then a bot went down for help. I moved to the roof to find more supplies and that ladder and I remember that it was not really necessary to activate the button unless we want more supplies and kits. That nasty broken house with the car on the way to the safe room made me stuck till more hordes came in regular incoming attacks, then I encountered a tank and I tried to pass it running to safe room, but my HP was low enough so I got incapacitated by some zombies or by a hunter.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4th Chapter was passed from first time. Yes, I know it was considered the longest in all chapters and hardest to fight like 3 tanks. 1 on the way to the last panic event and 2 once we explode that barrel to make that way to the safe room, but I somehow managed to do it all and left bots behind once I found I was surrrounded by 2 tanks from different corners. I loved how you opened some places once we got to them the way you desinged the chapter as we could then move back easily. I studied how we got to that roof and what we are supposed to do next or where to go afterwards and I also remember that those barrels on roof exploded on their own and thankfully no bot was damaged by them while zombies came from everywhere, but once I saw those 2 tanks, I decided to take that shortcut and my HP was good enough to make that jump over that ledge to another spot that took me quickly to the way we opened and a poor witch was waiting below that ladder and was shot in no time, then fought a jockey or a hunter and finally a nasty smoker was about to get me, but I was faster to shoot it and found I got to the safe room. Hordes may have been busy with incapacitated bots so the way to safe room was almost clear.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5th Chapter (Restarted Twice) Firstly, I thought that final spot was on that roof where that panel was there, but it was just a panic event station to open something, then move to the final spot where the radio existed. I didn't see those ways, ropes or ladders taking you to that bridge that was over the docks. I was just on that roof in front of the building where the radio existed and tanks quickly came right after hordes so I didn't find it easy at all to fight them from there. Once we died and restarted that chapter I was totally alone while bots were still dead. This is bad and lame. I got my pipe and ran towards those buildings hoping I could find some spawning closets and found one to get them all out, but I found a nice glitch that was encountered once in "Crash Course Modified" which was the door of the spawning room was invincible so none could get through it and I took it as a nice camping spot for me and for my bots. No tank, no zombie or a special infected could come in and we just shot all through the door. I always use whatever glitch I find in any new custom campaigns I try especially when I play them from the first time on Expert Single Player Mode.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't exactly remember if it only took me 2 restarts to do it, but I already got my screenshot of the ending credits and how much time spent and I played it long ago like over a month before I made this review which ****** me off so much because I may have missed some important details regarding any bugs. Also, thanks to the admin system, I managed to deal with some nasty ****** bot navigation issues especially when I decided to take bots back with me after starting the finale jumping back to where we came from I teleported all of them with me because they were lame enough to catch up with me quickly as they always got surrounded by hordes so typing some codes would just bring those ****** bots with me whenever I wanted instead of leaving them behind because of a ****** navigation issue. Otherwise, I would honestly give a rating lower than 4 stars like 3 or maybe 2 stars too.
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, I want to let you know I read each and every comment left on your campaign here on gamemaps starting with the first comment in the lowest part of this page till the last comment before mine, whether it was one of your updates comments or reviewer comments and I saw how much work you spent and how you updated us with everything you added or modified. Read it all and wish all bugs are fixed without the lame need to type some ****** codes to fix such issues. Good Luck!

      Review

I have to say, despite the layouts being very confusing (especially chapter 1) this was a really fun campaign, and a unique experience. Open world-esque maps with lots to explore and supplies to be gained from it, interesting map design and layout. After chapter 1 it becomes a bit more obvious where to go thankfully, but this campaign does force ya to explore. No issues encountered for me, so yeah that's about it, if you feel you're up to the challenge, give it a go, can be a bit stressful with bots if you plan on keeping them alive, but hey I had fun.

Beautiful levels, but gameplay needs work

      Pro:

      -Nice, pretty environment design
      -Decent length

      Con:
-Bots frequently get separated and take ages to catch up
-No health in most safe rooms
-Absolutely no indicators of what the switches actually open which makes a lot of the levels rather confusing
-No indication during the finale over where you're meant to escape.

All told, not the worst campaign I've played, the level design was very nice but a couple of small but annoying design choices like leaving health from safe rooms and not hilighting what the levers open made playing the campaign a little bit of a drag, Left 4 Dead's gameplay just doesn't make "hunt for the locked door" fun, but a few small design tweaks and this would become a great campaign.

You have inspired me more then most. The way to move forward with help, I have been thinking about it. I could put a button in the safe room that would show players the way to go. EG; as you move a glow would show you the way to go. There are a lot of games out there that do that with out asking you first. I could put a glow in the air that fades away as you pass it and glow ahead of you. Maybe a glow on the ground , Still thinking about it.

Not bad, but having problems with performance

The FPS optimization is realy realy poor on first map, thats quiet annoy when playing with the FPS drops.Other than that this map is cool,I like the enviroment and the map design, not too hard to finish it alone. But still hope that u can do something to make the first map play smoothly and run better
      • Axe, I explained to you what to do for having it removed, it's up to you if you want to.
It's your property you created and have rights to, you can file a DMCA complaint with Valve and force it removed.
      • Axe
Your problem is why I think it's not good enough to be on Steam Workshop.
      • Axe
I get over 144 FPS on 1440p and well over 200 FPS plus on 1080p. There is only one place that drops to 98 and that is near the rail house on the rail side for me. I find if I turn off the flash light it goes up by 30 FPS in some places. Maybe the lighting has something to do with it, What are you running? The links below show what FPS I'm getting all on 1440p.

Remember to play with real players under teamwork.

+ Dense forest and smoke put survivors in danger.
+ Special infected will attack from which players won't expect.
+ Available supplies at dead end for curious players.

      - Serious performance issue in level 1.
      - To play single player game with bots is an innocent fool.

      Pros:

      Level design and scenes

      Cons:

Way too many. Not enough time to collect your thoughts and relax.

      Conclusion:

As seen a progression on the levels and the design. Looking really promising. I will give it 4 stars. I would give it a five if it wasn't the Hordes (too many)

      • It should read (way too many hordes). and (I) seen a progression.....

      Cons:

      -Semimuch backtracking
      -Hordes attacking randomly
-Arrow's sometimes show where you dont have to go

      Pros:

      - Large open maps with some alternate paths
      - Arrows to help show the way
-You often get to work your way vertically up a map - getting a better overview as you climb
      -Plenty of supplies
-The author is actively working on improving the maps

      Cons:

      In order of importance:

      - Too many panic events for no reason (no sound that would have alerted the horde)

      - Arrows are sometimes misleading or hard to see and map flow doesn't always point you in the right direction.

      - (related to the previous point) Buttons to push without any indication of where they will open the path for you.

      -An unsafe safe room

-A lot of areas were devoid of detail (it's still being worked on)

      Conclusion:

I downloaded the map because I thought that 2 stars was a really low average rating and that it must be better than that.
After playing it, I guess I can understand why some people didn't like it. I didn't.
Overall, I think it's a well built set of maps but I personally didn't find it very "fun" to play. That in itself isn't very helpful feedback, so I'm going to try and explain why I felt the way I did as well as point out all the actual bugs that I encountered.

      Map 1:

      >An excessive number number of panic events ("here they come...") with no apparent trigger (I'm guessing it's either trigger brushes or a timer). In my opinion there needs to be SOMETHING that actually alerts the horde - either sound or light. At the very least you could use the crows to alert the horde (although then you would need to remove them from the ambient audio loops so that they only play when there is actually a panic event).
If you want more random hordes to make the map hard, you should to find some way to get rid of the "here they come..." message - that should be reserved for player-triggered hordes. A custom director script might do the trick.

      >The first arrow you see (well, I saw) points you in wrong direction (and this is only one example of a recurring issue). The parts of the map that you need to traverse multiple times are only complicated by having arrows. An arrow should be only be placed somewhere such that following the arrow is the right thing to do regardless of what stage you are at (in terms of pushing buttons and stuff).

      >You push several buttons without any indication of what they are going to do, and then you have to go search for which passage has been opened. A large and visible explosion, or a game instructor hint to tell you why you are pushing the button would be helpful. I mean there usually is a fire or something but it needs to attract more attention. You did this nicely with the explosion in map 4.
Also, some of the buttons make no sound and still alert the horde (see earlier point).

      >I liked the fact that new passages became unblocked to help you move around the map once you've reached a certain point.

      Map2/3:

      >The safe room isn't safe! The window breaks open open letting stuff in before you ever open the safe room door.

      >A panic event is triggered as soon as you leave the room (see point about panic events). This happens in all the maps.

      >You have to walk through fire at one point, which is counter-intuitive and damages your health.

      >The same issues relating to panic events as in map 1.

      >Overall this was the least interesting section with lots of long dull areas to traverse.

      >Also at least one arrow that points in a direction that you can't go (where the floor is broken).

      >There are some overstretched textures in a few areas here and in the first map too.

      >The witch in the fog is nasty but also a good idea.

      Map4:

      >A floating rifle in the starting room and a floating Molotov near the starting safe room.

      >Shadows are cast even where the sun sprite isn't visible.

      >The elevator shaft could maybe use an arrow in my opinion (because it's counter-intuitive to want to climb down an elevator shaft). And the rungs aren't immediately visible unless you look down (and who looks down elevator shafts?)

      Map 5:

      >The starting safe room was empty (devoid of supplies) if I remember correctly. Or maybe this was the double safe room with and extra door...

      >Ladders textured onto walls which are not climbable

      >I found an area towards the end where it's possible to look out of the map (this is very minor)

      >Weird bluish fog

      Conclusion:

The structure of the maps isn't too bad - I especially liked 1,4 and 5.
The two areas that that could use improvement are the panic events (both random and button activated) and the "flow", by which I mean the use of arrows, lighting, high ground, landmarks, dialogue, instructor hints etc. to help the player intuitively find the right path. I didn't like the feel and atmosphere of the map, but that's mainly personal preference and doesn't necessarily need to be changed.

I hope this feedback is helpful, and I'm certainly willing to look at the maps again in the future once they're complete.

HI Zetnus,, I'll touch on just some of your comments; The Hordes are controlled by the Director with logic. In saying that there are maybe 1 or 2 triggers in some of the maps because that's where I want the Director to attack you. Not fun sometimes but if you make it with a TEAM your doing well.

        MAP 1
Crows to alert the horde,, I like that. In my game the panic events have a sound just before they come to kill you, I will check that.
A custom director script might do the trick. I'll look at that, are you any good at them?
I do have triggers that use scripts, e.g.: 2 or 3 Tanks with hordes in some of the maps.
The buttons, 2 in the first map, are they really that hard to figure out?
The first Button calls a small horde then the trapdoor opens, it's very large with an arrow pointing to it.
The 2nd one maybe a little harder until you play the map more then once. ( The button on the roof of the rail-house )
To help players,,, Game instructor could do the trick, I like the explosion thing as well, that would get the players attention. I have changed that many times. Was thinking of taking both buttons out and just have the player move to the top we're the gate blocks their way to the saferoom.
You "I liked the fact that new passages became unblocked to help you move around the map once you've reached a certain point."
I like it as well.. I had some friends get charged off,, so funny to watch, so I had to put the passages in.
        MAPS 2 & 3
The safe room isn't safe!,,, I know. :)
Walking through the fire, you don't lose much health, will look at it.
least interesting sections, They are for the runners with the 2nd one much harder on the way back.
        Overstretched textures,,, Will look at.
The witch in the fog is nasty but also a good idea.. LOL
        MAP 4
        Floating things... I hate it..
The floating rifle in the starting room and outside I don't get that anymore. But I have noticed in the past if I don't play Map1 then the floating stops. Go figure. I keep looking on how to fix it.
Elevator shaft could maybe use an arrow , Will do. I look at the game and think there is nowhere to go but down the elevator.
Note you can just jump into the elevator as well.
        MAP 5
Working on it now, really bad blue fog A. :)
Your feedback was helpful, welcome any time to give your feedback,, THANKS.
PS; -A lot of areas were devoid of detail (I guess it fits with the theme of the maps, but doesn't make for exciting game play)
Reason, small game size, it is changing all the time.

        Yours Axe

      • I just looked back at some of the older reviews and some of the stuff I noticed (the silent horde triggers, the floating Molotov, the unsafe safe room, the arrow pointing to a dead end etc.) seem to have been around for quite a while...
Funreal's review describes a lot of the things I saw, just in more detail.
In light of all the criticism you've had in the past for other reviewers, I just wanted to say you can take my advice or leave it, but I am genuinely trying to be helpful by pointing out perceived flaws.

      Pros:

Looks great and plays well, even looks like Australia bush. The Burning Down Under poster looks great, But I did think there was going to be fire before I saw the poster.

      Cons:

Not finished and can be hard to find your way around the first time or so.

The Maps may be to long to play this could be because I'm new to playing L4D2 again.

      Conclusion:

Like I said a good game all round I have told my friends the same about this game. I think the first campaign is morning not afternoon like I read below. The 2nd and 3rd maps are the same, o-well still plays good. The 4th map can be hard to finish and when we got killed we went to the end. The truth is its better that way because we where near the end anyway. The end map may have been a little to bright but still great to play. I wait to see the finished game with Videos. A must play with friends.

      Pros:

      -...Bananas, I suppose?

      Cons:

      - Bad supplies placement
      - Horrible level design
      - Difficulty level is over the top
      - Locations are dull and badly done
      - No actual clues of where I'm supposed to go

      Conclusion:

I don't even know how to call this, I understand that it's a Beta (yes, I read stuff like that) but it's more like... really early rushed alpha. I guess we'll have to wait some time for more updates fixing most of problems mentioned by, well, everyone who played this.

      Great game play!

      Not easy

      Lots of hordes to fight.

      Cons:

      Ladders hard to see

Somewhat hard at the start, but gets eaiser

      Conclusion:

I downloaded this map for me and my mates, we had a ball!!!!

It has a great play through, things may be hard to find at first but after a few play throughs gets allot easier!

I like the fact that the resources are somewhat scarce so it makes the game take more skill and not be waste full.

      I loved the map allot.

I don't understand what all these people had problems with, I just downloaded it and it was fun.
Lighting, fog etc was all fine for me....

It is hard at first so I can understand what people are talking about in their comments...... but to rate it down because it's to hard??? Are you bad at this game?? Maybe this map isn't for you....

But all in all fun map, I have played through about 10 times now... thank you so much!!!

      Pros:

-Multiple tanks per level seem to occur often.

      Cons:

-Enough glitches that it's pointless to name them all here.
      -Very dull environments.
      -Loop mapping.
      -Terrible map flow.
-Most of the paths we took to complete this map seemed to not be the intended path, often involving common hopping or jumping from rails to rooftops. NOT an ideal way to progress through a map intended for a mainstream casual co-op audience.

      Conclusion:

I completely hated this map. The visuals had the "grimey" feel that I like, but were just plain boring. The glitches would make this map unplayable to a large amount of the casual community as far as I can tell. And the map flow was absolutely awful. In particular, the only way we could discover to get to the area of the finale to activate the chopper was to common hop. I enjoy multiple tank fights. I enjoy nearly constant horde. I enjoy difficult levels. But this was difficult for all the wrong reasons. I don't even see the potential here, besides an acknowledgement that it's okay to have multiple tanks per level and lots of hordes. I recommend a full rework mostly from scratch, scrapping all of the "looped maps" And as far as downloading this map goes? Don't. I'm only giving it a three because I was kept engaged by having to fight tanks and zombies nearly constantly which left me with very little time to complain about how badly the map was designed until we finished it.

      Pros:

      - Nice design
      - Adequate weapons
      - Plenty of throwables, pills & adrenaline
      - I like how some areas continue with hordes until you move forward
      - Decent amount of events

      Cons:

      - Some areas are confusing which way to go, but once figured out it's ok
      - Not a fan of the respawn to the end safe room if everyone dies. I prefer to try again if we fail a level

      Conclusion:

Overall I like this campaign, though I think the finale is a little easy as you can gain distance from the Tank easily enough due to such a large area. More Tanks in finale might make it more challenging, and perhaps hordes/tank spawning on the other side of the chopper to even the playing field.
The amount of hordes throughout the campaign is good, and in some areas tanks and hordes continue to re-spawn until you leave the area - I like this; makes it like a semi-running event. Good work.

      Pros:

Good placement of supplies and items.

      Cons:

Ammo supply was a bit far apart.

      Near constant hordes.

If you fail a level you would re spawn at the safe house at the end of the map. *yes it is said in the description that it is meant to happen but doesn't mean it's a good thing...*

Tanks spawning in or outside saferooms.

Some objects were solid and some no clipping

      Conclusion:

The direction was sometimes confusing but mostly ok. It has some potential but needs some work.

      Pros:

      1. Excellent placement of supplies.

      2. Use of puzzles and routing was well done

      3. Game play was clean, no bugs that I could see.

      Cons:

      1. Weapons at beginning could have been better.

      2. Ending could use some clean up.

      3. Could have used a few more directional arrows after safe room 4.

      Conclusion:

Layout is of the highest caliber unique to say the least. The twist at safe room three was refreshing. The use of a unique touch at I believe safe room 3 was refreshing (I'll not say more on it as it would spoil it for other gamers). Others have found bugs but for me the game was very clean. GOOD JOB !
