broken again with php permission errors relating to images

multiple messages about screenshot directory is not writeable

and this comes up repeatedly:

apparently this is still a problem
most of the time it's whenever something is uploaded/updated, it acts like the server or something timed out
it's exactly what Cemetera was talking about and showed earlier in this discussion

but also... people still claim vpks are corrupted, when I know for a fact they worked fine before uploading
just as was also discussed earlier, Computator stated he was aware, but I guess it was never really fixed

also, when you upload something... and uploaded images and screenshots and thumbnails, the images are broken
however, once the item is all said and done and finished, they'll show up once you complete uploading/updating

Yesterday, I also had a gateway timeout and that isn't surprising because EVERYTHING was moving in slow motion.  I logged out before I even finished looking for what I was trying to find.

One thing I noticed last time I uploaded a mod was the broken thumbnails of the uploaded image previews & cover. But in fact, the uploaded images worked when visiting the mod page. It's just the thumbnails that were broken. As for uploading the vpk file, because uploading a zip file is way safer than vpk file, I always uploaded a zip file instead to anticipate the possibility of broken vpk file problem caused by automatic archiving process by gamemaps system.

The pictures actually show up when visiting the mod page, but the thumbnails show as broken images like this when uploading.

Still happens a lot whenever uploading or updating something, refreshing sometimes helps but not always.
You are probably having actual legit server issues and should discuss them with your host.
Or consider getting better hosting... this happens too much and is a big inconvenience.
If it continues, it could possibly turn people away from coming here.
Look at back at how long this has been a problem... maybe even longer than this topic!

The web server reported a gateway time-out error.

I agree 1000% with Trunten, this site is often slow even when gateway timeouts DON'T happen in a particular day.  In fact, I've had issues all week long and I doubt I'm alone.

sometimes the upload appears to randomly stop and never comes back
sometimes you don't even get to the timeout lol

a slightly different matter now, and i don't remember if it's brought up in here or another discussion

but it is uploads in general

i believe there's still a problem where... even if something uploads, the vpk is still broken

Left 4 Dead 2 or other programs don't recognize the VPK as being proper

had a friend claim my recent update to "Nova Prospekt" wasn't correctly working for them

and, yes, already tried putting the vpk inside a zip first and told same

might be time for trying new hosting and/or servers or just recoding something new entirely

stuff that should've gotten resolved before the all-new site redesign/rebrand honestly

Well I hope this problem is solved soon!  I've got dozens of updated mods I intend to upload this summer as well as some brand new mods and mutations that were previously never here, just on the Workshop!  And in October I'm going to start uploading things that are brand new that have never been anywhere.

In fact, I would've uploaded far more mods already but have been trying to NOT be a mod spammer about it.  I've always complained about those people, so I'm not going to upload 10 things in a day or something like that.

hi if there a solutions for effect firing sound from weapon missing? like im firing my 44. magnum with mod addon or default magnum , it firing sound of are empty, but the clip and reload sound are fine thou ..😅just shot fire sound are mising.and this other issue with all my rifle,they have sound just fine .. and im just add skin mod to replace all my default rifle ,and the skin and anim are just fine .. but its have default firing sound .. instead custom sound from added skin with suppressor.. 😂😂 is there a way to reset the sound back to normal ? and all of these mod are working just fine before.. so please help me my genius frend🥺 🙏🙏

And respectfully, spitting out source file names with line numbers is bad practice.
