      Old treasure (another campaign I forgot to review)

      Who can believe that this campaign was first released in 2009? Today, it's still much better than some other campaigns. Quite featured and worth admiring, although the areas are kind of "tiny" (common in old campaigns), which lowered the design level.

      Someone blocked me to stop me from writing reviews for some campaigns that wasn't made by him XDDDD
      But luckily the real authors of some campaigns are here on GameMaps (L4DMaps).

      9,杰作

      杰作,相当优秀的图,氛围十分到位,最后救援关更是细思极恐,就是无限Tank那里比较搞人心态

      Great Disney-esque Campaign

      One of my favorite campaigns. Be sure to get the sound fix if you're not hearing the custom sounds.

      Its fun and originality nullifies its cons

      The campaign may be unjustly challenging at times, but it's full of references and fun events. Supplies are OK, but bots have trouble reaching for them sometimes. With the sound cache fix, this undoubtedly is one of the most fun campaigns, and good thing there's also a version with fixed models out there.

      Nice top map

      Pros:
      -Original and full of references, awesome layout and designs;
      -Supplies are abundant;
      -Guns and ammo are ok;
      -Giant map;
      -Tons of zombies and tanks, but no matter, my team is just too good for them all;
      -This is for sure one of the top/hardest maps;

      Cons:
      -Bad FPS optimization sometimes;
      -The respawn of hordes and SI are too quick and often the director don't care were they are spawn. They sometimes appear so close and even adjacent;
      -Lots of places to have SI BUGGED;
      -Terrible spots to be in the final chapter, but no matter, my team is just the best =);

      Conclusion:
      It has some issues but it is playable and Enjoyable. Your originality made it a top 50 map for sure, but the problems made it a top 100. HOpe to play a better game when I reach your 2013 version... Nevertheless,

      thanks for the map,

      Review

      It could've been great but, it's just unclear where to go allot of the time and the added struggle of WAY too many hordes and tanks is just too much. Playing on easy felt like expert, it's just way too difficult. The constant, constant hordes need to go. By the end of the third last chapter me and the bots had done over 13,000 damage to the tank. Just insane. The finale is even more of a struggle due to the location of the medkits and no good camping spots. It might've been way easier in L4D1 but the spitter is just extremely irritating in the finale. Oh and that's another thing I forgot to mention, WAY too many special infected. It's obvious that allot of the SI were scripted to spawn, and it's just way too much with the hordes and tanks. Just needs to be clearer where to go, without 10+ hordes swarming the crew. Other than that I liked it. Great map design. No glitches/bugs. So yeah, just make it easier.

      good old fashioned quality long campaign!

      Not much I am willing to say about this, mainly because I'd rather people experience it for themselves.
      What I'll say for now is if you've been holding out on downloading a campaign now's a good time!
      This campaign takes me back to the good old days of the first Left 4 Dead when campaigns were long but also great.
      You don't see a lot of that done well together any more, so don't miss out on this campaign!

      A Well Designed Nightmare

      PROS
      Good atmospheres and layouts
      Changing environments worked well
      Loads of bosses
      Moria
      Final shot of waking up

      CONS
      A lot of the Run to Saferoom events weren't explicit
      Bots don't pick up the very first medkits
      Dead Air logo after winning.
      Didn't find medkits at finale site.

      CONCLUSION
      A hellish fight through your own dream. The disconnected atmospheres are seamed together by the safe(bed)rooms. If you can make it through Moria, though, then you can beat the thing- it spawns tanks with the hordes (took me 5 'incoming attacks' to get there, so 5 tanks after I dealt with the one in Balin's tomb) once you reach the bottom of the stairs, and I had a witch on the stairs just before that. It's tough, but it's fair- it will give you enough health and ammo, but unfortunately, the bots just will not pick up the first medkits, which forces single players to do extremely well in Maps 1 or 2 (if you leave the Map 3 or beyond saferooms with nothing in reserve, you're gonna struggle). The finale is fortunately easier than most maps, which is good, because I don't think there's health there, and it gave me no throwables. Very well done. Also, it seems some people are hating on Moria- watch Lord of The Rings and you'll understand how well made that map was.

      Pros:

      - Extremely original
      - Nice designs
      - Drops well placed
      - Great action

      Cons:

      - 3 Smokers at the same time?
      - 4 TANKS AT THE SAME MAP?
      - ENDLESS HORDE FOR 10 MINUTES?
      - 3 WITCHES PER MAP INCLUDING WITCH IN THE MIDDLE OF HORDE?
      - Seriously, this campaign's hard as hell
      - Bots don't pick up medkits or weapons throughout first level
      - Third level is too big

      Conclusion:

      Generally, I don't have any problem with this campaign, it's pretty cool, designs are great and the action is intense which makes it fun. But the problem is that there's too much of that "fun" (2 tanks at the same time right after one tank right after leaving safe house and another one two centimeters away, 3 smokers at the same time disabled three players and fourth is attacked by an endless horde, tons of witches) If their spawnpoints wouldn't be so close to each other, maybe that would work out, but nope. I can't say much about entire campaign because i gave up at third level where problem with shitload of special infected can be easily seen. Maybe I'll retry someday but, just with easy difficulty level...

      9.1

      Pros:

      Very good maps with references to such horror films like Evil Dead, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
      Complex architecture, it's very interesting just to wonder these maps. Great idea.

      Cons:

      That which is supposed to be Iniana Jones map (I suppose) looks kinda weaker than the others.

      Conclusion:

      I must say I use this campaign a lot to lure people into playing custom maps.

      Pros:

      -real entertaining
      -GREAT design
      -Moria is exactly like it is in LOTR
      -great detail
      -great custom sounds
      -doesn't get boring at all
      -extremely original

      Cons:

      Bugs:
      -the bots don't take the medkits in the first map
      -the fourth map has floating guns bugs and when you fall in a trap, there is NO way out (not even by committing suicide!)

      Design:
      -the graphics are slightly outdated (the ghosts are 2D, etc..) but after all it's an old game so no points lost here.

      Conclusion:

      One of the best and most original campaigns for L4D2. Playing through the Haunted House feels like an actual Disney ride and the map design is magnificent. This is one of the few campaigns that would be fun even without zombies. The reason I gave this a 9 is because I had to quit and restart from level 4 after falling in a trap, which was pretty annoying.

      9.5

      Pros:

      Maps are great renditions of popular films, books, and attractions. Great set pieces and textures.
      The Haunted Mansion (based off the Disney ride) is of particular mention in it's true mastery of detail, right down to the expanding room at the beginning.
      Tintin map!

      Cons:

      Could use an update to fix a few bugs or add even more detail.
      Besides for the well-room event and the crumbling staircase room, the Mines of Maria are a bit shallow and very difficult at the end.
      Bottom line, though, as a gameplay map it's only OK. The true value of this campaign is just exploring the creativity of the map-makers

      Conclusion:

      A favorite map among my friends and I. First L4D (2) map to really impress me on it's scope and level of detail. The Nightmare theme makes for a good ending, though to be fair it's not as "scary" as the movies/books/attractions they're based on. Still, a great campaign and should be a staple in your add-ons folder.

      Pros:

      Starts out OK

      Cons:

      Stupid "haunted house" wasn't scary or fun, caverns looked like they were designed by a child (big and sprawling, not coherant and scary), really wasn't impressed by anything

      Conclusion:

      Try another map, I have no idea why this is rated so high.

      7.1

      Pros:

      ======= In general =======
      + A lot of special effects.
      + Good lighting.
      + Good AI navigation.
      + Lots of throwables.
      + Nice story.
      + Long campaign.
      + Changing colours.

      Cons:

      ======= Map 1 =======
      - Bots refuse to take medkits in saferoom.
      ===================

      ======= Map 3 =======
      - Enormous hordes including Tanks.
      - Partly lack of supplies.
      ===================

      ======= Map 4 =======
      - Lack of supplies.
      - Very difficult to avoid traps in SP.
      - A lot of hovering items.
      ===================

      ======= Map 5 =======
      - Hundreds of special infected spawning.
      - If pinned in the outpost-house it's very difficult to get out of there.
      ===================

      ======= Miscellaneous =======
      - Ratio between hordes/Tanks and supplies is wrong (more hordes than supplies)
      - A lot of hovering supplies, made the impression it's rather unfinished.
      ========================

      Conclusion:

      Overall very difficult campaign, not recommendable for SinglePlayer. The original version for L4D is a lot better including a lot less bugs. Sorry, but summarizingly disappointing compared to L4D-version.

      Pros:

      - Fading colour at the start and end of each map
      - Posters of movies (28 days later, Lord of the rings)
      - Perfect amount of supplies
      - Perfect map length
      - Creative and well timed events
      - Trap room + upside down room in map 2
      - Creepy atmosphere
      - Custom content
      - Closets
      - Stairs in map 3 with smokers that pull you off
      - Variety of environments
      - Creative yet confusing finale

      Cons:

      - Boring poster
      - Bots don't get medkits in map 1
      - No dialogue

      Conclusion:

      As expected, a great, unique campaign with no major issues.

      Pros:

      Some of these maps, especially Haunted Mansion should not be missed. HM better than some of the stuff in Dark Carnival.

      Cons:

      Need the sound fixed.

      Conclusion:

      Hope the sound issues get worked out.

      Pros:

      Nice map detail.
      Haunted House detail and Moria level design.

      Cons:

      Too many hoards of infected and tanks at once - especially during Moria.
      Fell into pit trap that neither killed me nor had any way of escape - cul de sac / game over. Bots couldn't rescue me.
      Bots don't take medkits at start.

      Conclusion:

      While I have to agree that the levels look interesting - there's just too many panic events, tanks, endless melee.
      Began to get very old after a while. Just not my game - much prefer Haunted Forest as more reasonable mix of zombies , tanks and special infected. Plus, then I fell into a pit trap that just ended the progress of the game and quitting game was only way to escape (bots could not rescue).

      Pros:

      • Very nice detail in all maps
      • Based off of popular fiction throughout the decades
      • Disneyland Haunted Mansion brought me back to when I used to there in the 90's with my family :)
      • Lord of the Rings Moria was very nice too, reminded me of Gunz Dungeon map!
      • In Moria, at the well, right when I pushed the bucket in, a jockey jumped me, coincidence or not, nice touch, was not expecting that
      • At the finale, when the first wall broke open, a smoker flew out at me, caught me off guard hahah

      Cons:

      • Beginning of the campaign the bots do NOT take the medkits, made it very difficult with 1 medkit, but in co-op, it shouldn't be a problem
      • Some item spawns were floating in mid-air, and 1 ammo dump was sticking halfway out the wall.
      • In the Tin-Tin map, there were some invisible walls that got really annoying

      Conclusion:

      This was an incredibly amazing map! I love it so much, especially with the haunted mansion and LOTR maps, very cool. A little too many pills and adrenalines and not enough throwables. Weapons and ammo and such were spaced out well enough much much detail. It's obvious you put a lot of effort into this, so fantastic, great job to you sir :D

      9.7

      Pros:

      COOL maps, the haunted disney was done especially well
      Pretty good gameplay

      Cons:

      Sound problems (already mentioned)
      Couple bugs with AI

      Conclusion:

      Fix the few bugs, maybe update it a little for l4d2, and this would be an amazing campaign,
      It already is really good, and a bunch of fun, but it just needs a little bit more.

End of results.
