Zero Warning (Left 4 Dead 2)

Our four survivors are dropped off via helicopter in the mountainous wonderland, known as "Riverside Park", tasked with the duty of finding gas so their helicopter can refuel. This beautiful and large forest was once home to park rangers, nature enthusiasts and friendly visitors, but now they're roaming with infected. Zero Warning was, until now, a lost campaign, republished by Steam user JAiZ after receiving the rights of ownership from the original creator. Republishing the campaign or any of it's contents is prohibited unless given permission by JAiZ. This campaign was originally posted on the steam workshop.

Good but a little confusing

It's just 3 maps but long for map 1 & 2. Because the maps are explorable, they look like labyrinths if you just run randomly. In this campaign, one most important thing you need is a good memory to remember the path, because in map 2, you retrace the way back to the middle of map 1 for the safe house. If you're not good enough at remembering the paths, I suggest that you stick to the wall. Beware of water, as in a certain place, it's really deep. I fell several times, but fortunately there was a way up (I still wonder why none of the survivors can swim lol :D ) . . Pros: - The campaign is fully explorable. You can run everywhere, but at your own risks :D . - The hints are clear & there are guideposts to show where to go to safe room. - On the finale, the highlights on the rescue vehicle helps much. If there hadn't no highlight, I would've wandered & got lost in the way to find the rescue vehicle under the pursuit of horde. - Bot navigation is fine - The supplies are enough. Weapons are scattered along the paths so if players are running out of ammo, they can pick other weapons found on the way or go to some place with ammo piles on the way. . Cons: - The panic event is more frequent than a campaign normally has, so you need to find places to defend more often - The explorable campaign has a drawback. If the players just run randomly, they'll more likely go back to the first place. - There are some dialogue errors (probably to be fixed later), like in the beginning, the helicopter said about anchor. - Rather extreme finale. There are 3 waves. End of first wave, there comes one Tank. End of second wave, there come two Tanks. End of third wave, there come two Tanks (or three? I just kept shooting so I forgot to count). Sometimes the some special infected & the leftovers of the horde follow behind so fighting Tanks feels more difficult than usual. . In overalls, a good & working campaign, especially for those who love non-linear campaign with the freedom of exploration. I'll keep this in my addons to play later with friends.

Sure, of course. I uploaded it since "Soul" had all his works under the same creative commons license. This implies that redistribution isn't a problem, and as far as Game Maps is concerned they just want crediting.

Please send me a message on steam or discord then (or here, if those aren't an option, I would message you first but this account is not 30 days old), because when I talked to Soul about getting the VPKS (since I tested the survival maps for him and wanted to get a hold of them for a project I'm working on) he told me that he's giving me full ownership rights of the campaign itsself, meaning I'm the owner and can act like it's my own work. Also, you mentioned being a tester for him? So was I... all the way back to the first L4D if I remember correctly. Myself and several mutual friends, K1chwa, Doktor Haus, ZeqMacaw, and many others tested multiple versions of Absolute Zero. We also tested its sequel (although I forget it's name at the moment). Honestly I don't think Soul would have a problem with one of his testers having the uploads... like you on workshop or me here. I don't know about you, but he seems to have vanished from the communities after being upset at them over something. Otherwise I'd have contacted myself just like you did. That's why I also wanted this uploaded here again like his other campaigns. Seeing you on the workshop reminded me of their history.

Alright, if this works for you we can keep talking here: Seeing as you probably didn't know I had the owner rights to the campaign, it's not too much of an issue, if someone had approached me and asked to publish the campaign on an external site I wouldn't have objected as long as proper credit was given,after all I published the campaign so people could enjoy it, not for fame or recognition, so for me it's okay to keep it up, but please update the description to the following: "Our four survivors are dropped off via helicopter in the mountainous wonderland, known as "Riverside Park", tasked with the duty of finding gas and bringing it back so their helicopter can refuel. This beautiful and large forest was once home to park rangers, nature enthusiasts and friendly visitors, but now they're roaming with infected who can't wait to rip out your guts and tear you to shreds. Unfortunately, the survivors entered this area with zero warning as to what is about to become the worst night of their lives... Do you have what it takes to survive? Zero Warning was a, until now, lost Campaign, republished by Steam user JAiZ after receiving the rights of ownership from the original map creator. This means that the original creator is Chris "Soul" Toth, and republishing the campaign or any of it's contents is prohibited unless given permission by JAiZ. This campaign was originally posted on the steam workshop, check it out here: (insert workshop link)" You can also use the screenshots and the video I posted to the workshop if you'd like to, just add "Screenshots and video made by JAiZ" to the description then. That way there's proper credit and reference, if you do that I have no problem with you leaving the map up here. Also, please leave the comments up so there's no misunderstandings for people passing by, consider this a sort of "official statement/agreement" that the map wasn't straight up stolen.

AH yes, glad you asked about the description. It was intentionally shortened to avoid reaching a character limit... assuming Game Maps has one, I never risked it. Comments will definitely stay of course, I have nothing to hide. As I said, it seems we BOTH possibly worked with "Soul" in the past. So comments will of course remain for respect and crediting and love of him and his work for nostalgia. I'll also add you into the author fields for the upload. I usually take those the most serious as in the actual creator first overall. Glad we cleared this up, I had hoped there was no misunderstanding or confusion. Especially since I'll be unavailable later. Last comment removed as requested, others will remain unless you'd ever change your mind.

Give me some time for that description, though, as I said, I shortened it a little bit for good reason... It may or may not push a character limit for the description field box here... and you and I both wouldn't want anything missing.

Thank you for being so co-operative! It's nice that we were able to sort this out privately (well, somewhat privately, since the comments are public). If the description itself is too long you can also limit it as you see fit, providing credit is given and visible on the page as a whole it's okay for me.
