      Fun,but too many zombie hordes

I played this campaign over the weekend,it was nice to see environments that weren't copied from L4D/L4D2. The part with the specials in the glass exhibits was a nice touch.Had quite a few Tanks attack me.

The only downsides were the near constant hordes in every map,it just made it really annoying trying to progress. The part with the lift was the worse with the endless hordes & specials who seemed to spawn really quickly or even in pairs on Normal.

I feel there needs to be a balance of the number of hordes & also the number of supplies which were lacking in maps. Also the finale was pretty easy with places to camp until the rescue arrives.

I liked how the campaign relates to the source of the infection & the various environments.

      Keep up the good work
      • I know there is a gauntlet in at least two of the maps. Ya, those tanks are pretty kewl and on a a randomizer so they show up in different cases :). I didn't create the map unfortunately I just repaired it after it was broken for about 3 years. I'm getting ready to go through all my campaigns this next couple or three weeks. I'll make sure there isn't some crazy stuff added I'm not aware of. That one elevator section I know is insane, which is why I left it. It's always been tough. Try playing it on my server lilasskicker1 and 2. Insane. :) Peace.

U have a zombie complex, sir.

What's a point to put a infinite number of zombies into campaign ???

Millions of hordes of zombies, literally you can not even move from zombies. and when you finally get to a safe house, it turns out that it is full of zombies. Very stupid and pathetic of you Sir, what you are doing. I'm sure I will never play this campaign again. Anyone who makes a campaign gives himself the right to ruin it. Have you ever played your campaign, Dave ? Timelordshit ?? Yes, this is pure shit, so much shit that it's for the ginis's prize.

but of course a praise for the design of the campaign, at least something good. I like the idea with the museum, a totally uncertain situation you do not know which tank is the real one. ( 5 STARS for design of the campaign, MINUS 100 STARS for scrambling over who we are playing a campaign...) Cheers
      • I was not right when I wrote this article. I apologize, Dave, but I was angry at the excessive number of zombies surrounded by me and the bots do nothing to save me. Still, you give us the campaigns we play and I have no right to blame anybody. Cheers
      • Are you referring to the gauntlet to get into the elevator. It's always been hard. I didn't change anything from the original in that area. It might take a couple times to get through to it though. :) This campaign has and always will be one of the best. Are you sure it wasn't the server you played on causing all the zombie issues? Some of these modified servers are rigged to be hard has hell. The other players comments speak for the games stability.

      Good Balance on Everything

This is one of those few maps that doesn't bombard you with hordes just to label itself a "difficult" map. Also not one of those maps that has doodads in every corner and every space available just to be "detailed". Source of Infection has a good amount and lack thereof of map components which makes it good. The difficulty curve from first to the last chapter is steady with different kinds of events that are just enough to be doable with a small margin for mistakes. Another small thing I liked about the map is it quite tells a narrative with the details of the place which is the "source of infection". Tanks and special infected-s in glass displays will make you wonder if it'll suddenly move and attack you. I don't know if this was intended or not but a thing that can do some work is the scarcity of bile bombs. Another thing is the finale, the radio room itself is a more than a viable camping place for the survivors. The high grounds throughout that last chapter seemed useless

CHALLENGING CAMPAIGN WITH LOTS TO OFFER

      PROS:
      - Special infected preserved bodies / evolution
      - Fair amount of supplies
      - Clear directions
      - Challenging on expert
      - Varied environments
      - Relates to the title 'Source of Infection'
      - Finale setup

      CONS:
      - Endless horde in map 4 elevator event and map 2

      Conclusion
Highly recommended. It's a near flawless and challenging campaign that describes the source of the outbreak through the environments. Great work.

      Excellent!

      PROS
      Map design
      Well made events
      Great finale layout
      Lots of supplies
      Caged witches
      Preserved zombies in museum
      Great finale map

      CONS
Museum gauntlet will double up on SI sometimes

      CONCLUSION
Thought it was great. While there are only a few events, they are well done, lengthy, and are often hard to camp during. However, you should never be low on supplies, so it remains balanced. This is particularly emphasized in the finale- if you want to camp by the ample amount of supplies, you sacrifice the high ground for a room with 4 large openings. There are a few things thrown in to make it memorable, like a hallway full of real witches in cages or the iconic diagram of evolution made out with infected models. Good job!

      Fairly Good Campaign

This is a pretty standard four-map campaign that takes place in some urban, underground, and military base environments. One of the biggest weaknesses here was the consistency between the areas; it didn't really feel to me like it flowed well. The first map has some of the best gameplay as it goes back to good old-fashioned straightforward zombie fighting in a good mixture of closed and open areas. The environment and layout was good. The second and third maps take place in memorable areas but were odd at times. The second map has a good continuation from the first map but when it gets to the museum, it kind of goes awry. The alarm gauntlet in the museum has you going along an extremely circuitous path and it's obvious that there's a script that greatly increases the special infected spawn rate here. I got attacked by two chargers simultaneously and a jockey dropped right down from the ceiling onto one of them. Spitters spawn especially frequently during the event. The third map takes place in a strange environment. While the first half doesn't have any issues, as the person below me noted, the lift event is superficially tough because it has a never-ending horde. The bots inevitably died before getting inside the lift. The area with the witches was cool, and having a tank spawn down there was especially fun. However, when we got to the finale, we found it dreadfully boring and the obvious place to hold out isn't challenging in the least. It should be noted that the area with the rescue vehicle is used in the finale of 2019 Pt. 2; not sure if the original author was credited there. No bot nav errors that we found. The first map and first part of the second map seemed more detailed than the rest of the campaign. Good job fixing this up.
