Another campaign I forgot to review

Standard gameplay, unsatisfying details. The biggest problem is that most areas are too empty. Hmm maybe it's just another campaign prepared for specific fans of another game.

      7,良好

      良好,中世纪氛围比较不错,路线也略有意思,第一关船设计是好的,但是僵尸经常穿模打人,后面两关就短了不少,而且场景也摆了些,总体来说值得试试

      Lost in Skyrim

This is a good campaign. I like it mostly because of the difficulty in the third map. I always get ambushed and almost die in the third map. Some of the bot players will get stuck in the last map if you choose an alternate route to the rescue area. You have to follow the horse and wagon until they stop at the place to be rescued. I was expecting to see villagers and animals walking through an old medieval town, but this is L4D2. The town is full of zombies. Creating the horse and wagon for the finale must have been the most difficult task. That horse and wagon reminded me of the Budweiser Clydesdales. I don't remember seeing another rescue like that.

Short, Interesting Locale, Has potential (v2.0)

      Pros:
      The Rescue Vehicle-horse-thingy
      .
      Cons:
All of the maps are way too flat in terms of terrain
      .
      .
I actually played "A Plague Tale: Innocence" about year ago. So, I thought I'd give you some tips
      -
      Tip #1:
Would be good if there were more objects lying around outside such as broken chairs and tables, maybe a pile of dead villager bodies to help with the atmosphere. On map 3 for example I think there was this big, flat open place with some sticks at the end that could have really used something like the dead bodies to say "hey, maybe these villagers brutally murdered all the sick people before leaving.
      -
Tip #2: Medieval Music at the start of each map (and at the finale) might also help set the mood.
      -
Tip #3: As a previous comment said; a forested area, more interesting panic events in later maps would be good. Maybe an event that lowers a draw bridge or blows up a giant castle door etc might work.

      Review

Pretty good traditional campaign. I personally found it to be quite easy, but that's alright, and the map design in my opinion is a bit too flat, but other than that it's pretty good. No issues found, flows well, good supplies distribution and nice atmosphere, also that rescue vehicle lol.

Excellent Map with Potential for much more !!

Overall this was a fun filled tour of the middle ages with all the Medieval structure. Graphics are excellent. In a few areas instead of a modern metal fence I'd like to see iron gating or if easier even wooden fencing. I played this campaign solo to allow me to explore and jot notes relating to any perceived issues.

Map #1 Starts you off in the medieval graphics. Zero issues encountered (I did not see the door bug noted in another review). Bot navigation was excellent. Fairly straight forward to finding your way. Just enough supplies to get by.
Map #2 This one did have the first direction arrow on a wall. I had made a loop and coming back went to the other direction of choice. This is where the arrow was located. Note I really do not want nor need arrows everywhere (I call that bread crumb mapping). It usually tends to lead you away from some supplies.
Map #3 Was more of the same. There are a lot of doors. I checked every one to see what opened. Only a small percentage did. Wish you'd add a few more even if it's just a supply type room or living quarters as a few were). There were a few areas boarded up with plywood sheeting. I'd change to boards.
Map #4 is the finale. It's laid out where it's fairly easy to defend. The hordes come from 2 directions as do the three tanks. You'll easily be able to see where you can sit and shoot in two directions 90 degrees apart. Best part was you escape vehicle. Not sure if I could have gotten run over or not but did startle me into a "WTH" moment. <G>
The escape vehicle is totally unique. I've never seen this form in all the Maps I've played since game came out. Awesome touch!

Overall this is a fun map to play either solo or with friends. I highly recommend it. I did give it 4 of 5 stars. Reason was some noted areas where graphics did not mesh with the medieval concept and way too many "locked doors". I'd expand on these a bit and then it's be an easy 5 stars.
I watch for updates and as appropriate will edit this review accordingly.

Thanks for posting such a fine campaign. I had a good time playing which is all that really matters.
Map #4 Again the Fencing looked way to modern.

      • Well I tested map 1 5 more times & the bug on the door happened only once. Probably it's just very rare to happen. Well, I guess I'll remove that bug part on my review. Thanks for your clarification to check that part too.

It feels like going back to medieval era

This campaign feels like going back to medieval era with medieval buildings. Bot navigation is fine & directions are clear. Supplies are enough. The finale has a kind of unique rescue unit.
      .
Map 1 has no problem. Survivors only need to explore some medieval buildings & go through the woods. The wood section would be better if it's explorable, either just for special infected or all. On my test on the new version, the special infected could only appear & walk to the path. It would be more challenging if they can ambush from the wood. Then, the raft event at the end of the map is kind of challenging. There's ammo piles on the raft so players don't have to worry about running out of ammo during raft event. & beware of smoker & charger.
      .
Map 2 on the new version has more explorable rooms. For the doors of the explorable rooms, I think it would be better to use the medieval textures on the doors (if possible) or medieval doors just like the other closed doors. There's an event at the end of the map, but no need to worry as the area is wide enough & there are many places to camp during event.
      .
Map 3 is also about exploring medieval buildings & areas. Probably map 3 needs some events, as survivors just need to go forward & follow the paths. Probably, if possible or there are some textures about trebuchet or medieval artillery or cannon, it would be more fun to add an event about destroying a big wooden door with medieval weapons, just like in movies about kingdom wars. The destroyed door makes a loud sound so either survivors have to run to the saferoom or defend until the panic events end. Some objectives about collecting the trebuchet ammo before launching the attack would be good too.
      .
Map 4 is straight to the finale event. It's a holdout finale just like the first version. The new version now has glow on the rescue unit so players can figure out where the rescue point is. There are some good place to camp here. Unfortunately, most buildings are inaccessible so most camping areas are outdoor.
      .
In short, this campaign is a good one to play alone or with friends while enjoying the medieval settings. Some places still have potentials to be improved with more explorable areas or events, as medieval theme usually has lots of mysteries like secret switches, secret rooms etc & the author can implement those in this campaign if he wants. Well, I look forward to the next updates.

      • Thanks for the update. You really have a lot of time and effort to put in reviews.
      • Well, I'll try to check it tonight in my free time.

      • Well, thanks for the review. I will take in some of the consideration.

Oh, by any chance would you happen to review my map, Ruins, just for the sick of it. Might be annoying for me to ask.
