Not a bad campaign. Although the biggest problem with the campaign is that it drags on for way too long, my session must've lasted at least over an hour and 20 minutes, I forgot to check. The maps are absolutely massive, and if they were scaled appropriately, I'd say we'd be looking at a lot more than 5 chapters haha. Also I had an issue of melee weapon viewmodels not showing on some chapters. Other than that though, not terrible, if you are going to play it, make sure you have the time and will to tackle its length.

Cool Visuals And Beautifully Designed Map

Completed in expert realism with friends. The review is mainly based on the impression of the gameplay in expert realism mode without bots.
It's got custom conversations, and I must say I was really quite impressed with the graphics and visual designs of the map with all the cool textures and stuff. Plus it's got a cool custom loading page, which really made me feel I was playing a very high quality official map. Really like the gauntlet crescendo event where we had to open the light and run to cross the bridge and switch off the light and shut off the shutter at the same time. However, survivors could still go back after the light got switched off and shutter began to close, and if there're survivors behind the shutter, it'd bug out and crash the game (during my gameplay).
Like most other reviews, the first three maps really got a very long length and inadequate ammos and supplies, making the gameplay very unbalanced and difficult to walk through if running in steady pace. The fourth map became shorter as compared to the earlier 3 maps which I thought should be the other way round? Also the first 3 maps took forever to load. And 4th map was rather flat with no highlighting events occurred. Finale was a gauntlet but it appeared to be quite an easy run for us. Overall I'd give it a 3.5 stars but for now I'd just rate 4 stars for the sake of raising the overall score of this map a bit. Worth a run if you've got some fine teammates.
      • Just curious did you guys play this on a server? Reason I'm asking is that I've tried to run this on a server and map 2 and 4 have issues (they play fine on local but not on dedicated server). Now that I've ported it (model / textures) map 4 is the only one having issues now and I think I fixed it last night. I'll release a fixed version if you think it appropriate. Just getting a feel?

      Pros:

      Maps are detailed
      Challenging events
      Overall good layout
      Multiple routes

      Cons:

Early maps not supplied well enough for their length.
      Far too few ammo dumps.
Bots wouldn't always run up to ammo dumps and kept using pistols.
Saferoom at Map 4 start has no ammo pile.
Beginning maps are far too long.
Some places need more arrows, particularly at the compound in Map 2.

      Conclusion:

A difficult campaign. If you can get through the first 3 maps, the hard part's over. It definitely needs more ammo, and a few more arrows in key places. I want give it a 3.5, because I thought it was still better than "ok", but it is definitely not worth a 4.

      Pros:

      Nice textures and layout
      Challenging

      Cons:

      Not enough ammo
      No good weapons
      Hardly any throwables
Map 2 is too long and difficult with bots. Not worth spending 30 minutes to get to the point of dieing again.
      Bots are often incompetent

      Conclusion:

Nice idea. Needs more work before it should get a higher rating.

      Pros:

      Action pack
      No major bugs found.

      Cons:

Strange, disjointed and highly unrealistic map layout

Most areas are too large and unrealistically furnished, all interiors are amateurish.

      Overall lack of weaponry.

      Conclusion:

The action rarely stops yet the whole campaign feels dull and lack focus.

      Pros:

      + Dialogues/Quotes
      + Custom Texture.models.
      + Radio jammed
+ Loads of events wrapped in loads of details.
      + Realistic(Ammo pile, medics, pills)
      + Loads of zombies.
      + Best interior designing.
      + Different routes.

      Cons:

      - 2nd map, the roof should have a mark showing where to go.

      Conclusion:

The moment I saw the paintings on the roof and walls in the church, I just knew this was going to be some serious realistic L4D2 gameplay, totally different from other boring designs with excessive placement of weapons and medical supplies set in lousy events and enveloped in poor details.

But seriously, a few more pills would be really necessary, considering the situation of playing with bots.
However I still can't deduct any points because of realistic scarcity of supplies or loss of direction.

Though being a real rookie level designer, I would say that amount of details really cost you a long time. Seriously, I have seen hardly any more detailed rooms or streets in other projects, even place players can't reach was attended with proper detail. Now that's what we call seriousness.

I could have finished on Hard Eight, if with more ammo, more pills on the way.
Amazing work in all. You have my first 10 in campaign reviews.

      Mapping: 10/10
      Events: 10/10
      Gameplay: 10/10
      Total: 10/10

      Pros:

      Well made campaing.
      Wide scale maps.
      Interesting events.
Exellent settings of boss and zombie spawns so as ammo.
      Non linear ways to go.

      Cons:

Multiple crushes in map 2 as client, no crushes as host. I think it depends of your computer and network speed in coop, because 1 and 2 maps are very large. (my system got 7.5 points Windows 7 system test)
Maybe add some mele weapons on map 3 and 4.
      Some geo stuck in textures.

      Conclusion:

Realy good and fun campaing. Requies some work and it will be exellent. I think need some graph optimization in large area maps.

      Cons:

crashed after 2 map in saferrom while loadindg next map that was only problem that occured

      Conclusion:

really underrated campaign. people give it a chance ! :)

      7.4

      Pros:

      - Dialogue
      - Detailed
      - Easy to follow
      - Different routes
      - Long campaign
      - Quarantined poisonous room
      - Security room in map 3 separates the team
      - Idea to follow torchlights in map 4
      - Finale is perfect, not too difficult or too easy

      Cons:

      - Takes extremely long to load, and can cause crashes while waiting
      - Lag on the first few levels
      - Needs more supplies
      - Not enough rescue closets on the first level
      - Random slow mo, it's a nice touch but it's not really needed in that explosion?
      - Bots fall behind

      Conclusion:

A decent campaign with a few problems, mainly lag and the lack of supplies but it's still a good campaign and an obvious amount of effort has been put into it.

      8.5

      Pros:

+First thing first, nice intro and nice survivors dialogue
+Excellent detail and map design throughout the whole campaign
+Nice reskins of certain props in campaign
+Wonderful scenery and environment in all maps
      +Dynamic pathing/routing
      +Zombie variations are great
+Well guide so payers won't get lost
+Slowmotion is okay, no need to remove it (my opinion)
+Large and long maps, I like that
+Campaign storyline is great, and the environment fits the campaign title

      Cons:

-Well, first bots nav issue, not going to complain if the bots are stupid etc (they do that)
-Next, I have to agree, supplies are too few
-Infected spawns are kind of predictable also SI seems to get stuck near vehicles/obstacles. And I saw a Witch spawns inside a car
-There are few misplaced props/items. They sink in the ground (table/desks for weapons). Not sure if it's just me

      Conclusion:

Like other users said, this campaign is wonderful and amazing. My friend and I enjoy it and we want to thank you for your effort and detail you put into it. Main problem is the Infected (spawn/stuck), supplies and navigation. That is all for now, I will wait for the next update. Again, nice job ;)

      Pros:

      -Has scripted Survivor Dialogue.
-Alters the Zombie population; Formal, Construction, Hazmat, and Riot Infected (the usual cabal) appear periodically.
-Has a mostly non-linear layout. Arrows guide the way forward through these numerous paths.
      -Intricate detail throughout each map.
-There are some helpful notices in certain areas. One area that comes to mind is the fumigated room in Map 3.

      Cons:

      -No intro music.
-Bat AI navigation; Bots can get trapped behind obstacles, must resort to teleporting frequently, and can fall off rooftops, hurting themselves.
-Boss Infected appear in Map 1 without Primary Weapons. Survivors WILL get hurt early on in the Campaign.
-Supplies are extremely scarce. Ammo and Health Kits in particular need to be added.
-Notices for Crescendo Events don't appear until it's too late. Gauntlet Crescendos don't point out the end switch.
-Slow Motion explosion in Map 2 unnecessary.
-Unobtainable Pills has been spotted in footlocker in Map 3.
      -Maps are excruciatingly long.

      Conclusion:

Urban Disaster lives up to its name (emphasis on "Disaster"). One of the most frequently-made mistakes made by many mapmakers is forgetting to focus on gameplay, and instead focus on the optional eye-candy. This map is a prime example. Game balance is thrown out the window, and most players will not be able to complete the Campaign in a happy mood due to the hostile nature of the level design and the scarcity of supplies, weapons, and the dense pockets of Infected. Don't judge a book by its cover; even if it's pretty, it can taste sore on the inside.

      Pros:

Nice, long campaign for a beta.
      Survivor Dialogue

      Cons:

      Confusing map layout
Supplies are rare in map 3
      No soundscapes
NAV can be finnicky at certain points (Highway)
      All maps need more supplies

      Conclusion:

Good job! I like the length but it definitely has some edges to work out.

      Pros:

      - Really LONG campaign can play for a long time with friends.
      - Survivors' conversation.
      - Explosive scene.
      - Horrible and dangerous swamp.

      Cons:

      - There was no enough supply and ammo for survivors. We always ran out of ammo and didn't find available new guns or pistols.

      - You might offer ammo piles, available guns or healing items before *any* crescendo events starting.

      - At level 2, the crescendo event turning off alarm should offer multiple paths for survivors to go upstairs. It's not funny to encounter dead end and must find another way while horde kept coming.

      - You might block some unnecessary paths so that players won't try to walk a long range but don't find anything.

      - A little performance issue when players go the outside.

      - All houses in ghost town may change to the door without handle if they can't open.

      - At swamp area of level 4, sugar canes shouldn't grow through the plank walkways like preview picture 6. At least giving survivors a little view to fight against horde on the walkways.

      Conclusion:

This campaign is really huge. I think you could cut off unnecessary area or paths so players would know where to go.

      Pros:

      - I'm not going to go into the pros because they tend to be generic and obvious but to summarize, good layout, good detail, challenging, blah blah.

      - The one thing that made this campaign really stand out though was the length. I ended up spending about a half hour on each map because they were so big and explore...-able...?

      Cons:

      - IT RACK-A DETAIL, in some areas at least.

      Conclusion:

I don't know what it is about this campaign but throughout it I just had the feeling of, I'm going to play this again and again and again. Admittedly I didn't download this campaign with high expectations but I was pleased to be proven wrong. If only there was a little more detail this campaign would be fantastic. So good job. Pros:

      solid map layout
      basic graphics and environment
      basic gameplay
      long maps

      Cons:

      low detail level
      repetitive, blocky map design
a lot of rooms as big as an airport waiting hall, artificial
very few blood stain, junk etc., zombie apocalypse?

      Conclusion:

solid but most of the time uninteresting. can't see me replaying the campaign.

      7.8

      Pros:

      Much dialouge
      Alot of ambient sounds
      Design is okey
      Original gameplay

      Creative
      Intresting areas

      Cons:

      VPK (see conclusion)
      Runtime error

      Some areas are too open
      No enviroment sound
      Lack of supplies
      Can jump on a roof

      Conclusion:

I played the campaign and was impressed by your enviroment. Its really nice so be proud of it!

But I found many error while playing it and here they are:

Some of the areas are way too open! Very easy killing the zombies and very annoying if you pick the wrong way!
I took one of the wrong ways and walked around a big part of map 1 wich was really annoying...

I heard alot of ambient sounds. Good! But I didn't hear any enviroment sounds. Make sure you add those.

Maybe its enough supplies on normal but you have to think about the advanced players.
I never play on normal anymore. Its always advanced and it was not enough supplies in this map.
To be honestly, I dont think I saw a single molo, pipe or vomitjar trough the hole map! And almost nothing else either :l

I was able to jump on a concrete pipe, on a brick fence and up on a roof were I was 100% safe from infected.
Its hard to explain where but I took a couple of photos so check my steam profile!

And now to the VPK con.

You added alot of sounds we already have. Only add custom sounds! Adding original valve sounds are not necessary!
      It just take space.

And I was not able to play map 2 due to an runtime error. Dont know why. Might work better if you remove unecessary things.

So in conclusion: A great start! Just some minor problems...
Keep working on this campaign and update map 1 before releasing it again. Add a playerclip, enviroment sounds, more props if possible and more supplies!
