      My favorite Silent Hill campaign.^^

This is a long and challenging Silent Hill campaign with some puzzles.^^ I love the weapons and special infected mods in the campaign, and the atmosphere and musics in the campaign are well-designed.^^ Alothough some player doesn't like the finale design, but I really like it and very enjoy the campaign.^^ Nice work!^^

One of challenging old campaigns with puzzles that I love

I've played this several times & it's still fun to play, at least for those who love solving puzzles. Though there's a new version updated by someone, I still prefer this version as this brings some fun past memories and the puzzles are still doable with reasonable difficulties. I still remember that I had to stop the play & repeat again another day when I got stuck & had no idea of where to go on certain maps, like map 3 & 5. I did some backtracks for minutes to look for keys on map 4 & 6. But all of them gave great satisfaction when finally after learning the puzzles, I started from beginning & could clear this campaign in one go, in about 1 hour & 30 minutes. I hope that there are more campaigns with puzzles like this in the future.

      Cheap

      Very simple, cheap, raw campaign.
      More like a beta version.

      Weird but fun

It's an entertaining map,but it's really confusing when you're wandering around looking for items in the wide open areas or the other world maps which are hard to spot in the dark. The maps had a creepy atmosphere to it but like the other Silent Hill map its too dark to see anything around you.
Also the map where the survivors are in the lab seems to have various glitches.First I couldn't open the door to the safe room, despite having the key card ; the infected seem to become invisible as you progress further into the lab,all I could see was their shadows or hear them which makes them hard to shoot.

The finale was really strange & confusing but it was pretty easy.

Overall I enjoyed it but the maps with the custom infected/weapons it needs some tweaking.

LONGG CAMPAIGN, SILENT HILL ATMOSPHERE, CUSTOM TEXTURES BUT NO DIRECTION~

      PROS
      - Really has a silent hill atmosphere to it
      - HUGE MAPS (can be seen as a con as well)
      - Plenty of supplies
      - ABUNDANCE of places to explore
      - Custom skins for all SI and survivors
      - Custom sound effects for SI
      - Custom weapons
      - Traps, that weren't frustratingly deadly (yay)
      - Decent amount of revival closets in relation to the map length
      - The brightness / map design really worked well and did make it feel like I was in the Silent Hill universe.

      CONS
      - Finale was a little disappointing but I understand its connection with the rest of the maps
      - Maybe a bit more added directions for finding keys / cards to open doors would be beneficial
      - The wide open map in the town is a little too much, I understand the point is to be lost in the fog and find your way through trial and error... but that map is too vast and most paths go on FOREVER... before hitting a dead end and have to backtrack and find another POSSIBLE path. Annoying.
-Grainy' textures really irritated my eyes after playing for so long

      Overall
This campaign really stands out, and as the dev description says, players need patience to be able to complete this campaign (especially in one sitting) but it is rewarding! I recommend playing with at least 2 other players and splitting up when it comes to different paths. Maybe not the traditional way to play a L4D2 campaign but with this addon, it definitely works best. Otherwise you will struggle for what feels like forever to try and find the right path to follow.

This was designed as an Single Player experience in mind.

      How about making it stable?

      Rattle189's review

Good campaign, has great atmosphere, has nice custom models and textures, has scary sounds and bizarre maps that do look like Silent Hill. The maps have a mix of the old Silent Hill games, recent games like Homecoming and the first Silent Hill movie. The maps are very long and very big, have good design but some areas are simple or are quite odd, respawn/rescue closets are not so common, and can be quite unforgiving with scarce supplies, timed/scripted attacks, have very little clues or information regarding some of the puzzles and may require you to backtrack a few times or circle around the map for the correct way/path. Either way, it's a good campaign and deserves a play for those who are patient and are Silent Hill fans, though the campaign is designed for single player experience, the navigation for the AI isn't so good so you will need human players to have a fair and good game.

      Review

Remember. Left 4 Dead 2 is not Silent Hill. It is very unforgiving when you die, the maps are WAY too long so if you die, you have to spend another 10+ minutes getting back to where you were. Bland design in some places (guess you can blame Konami) so it was pretty damn boring walking in a single direction, a straight line for the majority of the time. Very confusing were to go at times, guess you can blame me for not liking puzzles. The bot navmesh on the final map is a tad bit bad where bots seem to like going through the water rather than on land and end up drowning themselves. Also on the second last map I couldn't figure it what to do, it may be broken. i pressed the elevator button multiple times and nothing happened. Other than that, pretty grand. Custom textures were a nice touch, custom character models, special infected, sounds and some of the chapters had descent design.

Amazing map but there are a lot of stress playing it too

      Pros:
      - The map is amazingly well-made.
      - Mods included which help setting the mood to be 100% Silent-Hill type.
      -

      Cons:
      - The darkness is too much to handle. Good luck to players when they are in the darkest (literally) side of the map and get vomited or have a Smoker exploded in front of them.
      - Spent too much time figuring out the way.
      - Some door can't be opened 'by hands'. Thought I reached dead end, but the door finally opened after I shot it accidentally to make the big hole, and absolutely need a melee weapon to break the door completely. Else, we will never be able to open that door.
      - Looks like the creator intentionally place items at some corners, under piling objects. Which is either hard to spot, or hard to take.
      - Once I finished this map, there is no thought of ever wanting to play this map again.

My all time favourite map! Good job man!

Thus the weapons are really cool, the magnum overall. Wish a mod with them exist!

      Hot damn, that was fun.

Make sure you have a lot of time to kill before starting this campaign, because you're gonna spend a good chunk of your time in these maps.

Loved the custom models you threw into this. Even though the new weapons, survivors, and enemies are a mixed bag to some people, I absolutely loved the effort in these new mods. Seeing a Siam bearing down on us for the first time through a foggy street was enough for me to high tail it in the opposite direction. Add that with the creepy music provided, and it's one heck of a foreboding experience. The music and sounds itself add a lot in building up the atmosphere, and along with some wonderful mapping, I truly felt I was transported to that quiet town. Overall, you've nailed it on the head with recreating the SH experience in left 4 Dead 2.

Of course, it does have its downsides. The hard-to-navigate lighting can get frustrating most of the times, which IS part of the SH experience, but is still an unavoidable flaw. The weird, high contrast lighting is a thing I need to bring up as well. is that intentional? Because if so, then it does add to the signature look of the SH games, but it is rather strange to look at, I must admit.

There is a LOT of wandering and backtracking in these maps, which is a staple of old school survival horror, lest folks forget. You've incorporated that wonderfully in this campaign, though I understand that it might not fit well with the fast paced level design most L4D2 players are accustomed to. As everyone says, be prepared to burn through hours playing through this campaign.

And the ending--ah, a hotly discussed issue among the commenters. Without spoiling much, it was still a very plausible and reasonable ending to attain. I must admit, by the second to last map, i was afraid there would be a sudden genre shift, and this would suddenly become Questionable Ethics or something, but it wraps it up nicely in the end.

To those unsatisfied/stumped with the ending: Remember that being in Silent Hill does not guarantee you a happy ending, and this custom campaign reflects on that bleak truth. What we've got would be something akin to the Jacob's Ladder conclusion, and that fits in perfectly with all the elements of this mod. (Look up Jacob's Ladder if you don't know it; it's one of the inspirations for the Silent Hill franchise)

Overall, the mod is a very well constructed experience delivered phenomenally well through a medium that is a stark contrast to everything the Silent Hill games hold as its identity. And the fact that you have managed to accomplish such a feat is very impressive. Kudos to you, man.

TL;DR - Don't expect a quick fun experience, or you'll be disappointed. Sink your teeth into the marrow, and let yourself get immersed in Silent Hill.

      Pros:

      *Way too original
*Nice skins, never played silent hill but you really give me the chill to do it
*Ugly map, but I think that is the purpose, so I freaking loved it
*Way too dark, what is challenging, as you did change the sound of special infected it can be really decieving, I jus't can't easily kill de witch with a sniper and a melee sometimes i'dont see the jockey's approach. What makes it much more fun!
*Hard to play even in realism mode at some points, what makes it much more fun!
*Large map, giving us much more fun!
*Had nightmares, and yes, that is funny at all.

      Cons:

*At some points the game unfortunately crashes. Not always, not in the same part, so I just couldn't realize if it's a problem of my PC or the campaign.

      Conclusion:

One of the most challenging maps I've ever played. So good piece of work this was.

      Keep up the good work!

End of results.
