winter_harvest_train

The train is controlled like this: forward mode(with options to add speed 1/2/3), reverse mode(can be a bit buggy)
If the train is moving, you have to press the use key ‘E’ several times to press the button. It may not count the first time.
Press the buttons many times to activate them.
Gear 1/2/3 - speed selection.
This campaign is a conversion of the official Blood Harvest campaign into a winter version with an experiment - a train to move the survivors around.
Survivors can progress through the campaign without the train, and this will be accounted for by the gameplay of the map in the appropriate balance.
Backstory:
The survivors manage to escape from a city engulfed in fire. They land in an abandoned aerodrome, where a community turned out to be, which showed the way - to move along the rails. Although she did not begin to tell that it is not safe to contact the army, the survivors did not wait and ran...
A whole 1 map that combines almost all locations from Blood Harvest: forest, factory, railway crossings, forest edge, old barn, abandoned buildings.
There are easter eggs!
I came up with the idea in November-December 2024, first I wanted to merge all the maps, but someone had already done it before me(ShortHarvest). Then I just added a missing piece of level, replaced the textures (thanks to assets from the previously released Death Toll Winter addon), and then I decided to add a mechanic with transport interaction, which I came up with in the summer of 2023, when I was developing City 17 Revamped, but at that time I didn't think of where I could add such mechanics, and the maps from the gmod were eating up the limits of the source engine. So I combined everything, and the campaign can be completed without the train, only you will go a little long)

Fun Fan Facts:
The cabriolet-train idea came when 3ipka wrote to me with the fact that the campaign is turning into a train driving simulator, hopefully this problem is gone, and certainly in Versus :)
One more piece of level from blood harvest didn't fit, as source engine limits don't allow to make more.
In the farm with evacuation, you can get outside and walk around the hill. This was added by me intentionally so you can enjoy the views of North America with coyotes :) Good optimisation included

I was very intrigued when I saw this, and yeah, it's a really cool idea for Blood Harvest. Clearly a lot of effort and attention to detail was done for this map, and I do really like it, despite it being short at about 20ish minutes. I was also surprised to see there was no optimization issues, I read the description, so I see a sacrifice had to be made, but it doesn't really detriment the map in any way tbh. I recommend people give this one a try, it's pretty cool!
In my opinion the rain was very loud in L4D2 and i hated it (especially in Hard Rain campaign). So i made it. Replaces the all wind and rain sound effects expect the No Mercy chapter 1 rain (it was buggy, i dunno why). And a few thunder ...
