Valador, Inc is proud to announce the release of Moundsville Slammer, a Left 4 Dead 2 campaign. Created by Matt Scott, a member of the Valador design team, the campaign incorporates two game levels derived from an actual haunted location in Moundsville, WV. We chose point-cloud technology to gather data on Moundsville Penitentiary for a project in 2009. Point-cloud data provides surface and volumetric information of objects that can be converted to a CAD model. Converting the point-cloud data into usable game assets through a conversion workflow in AutoDesk Maya® software allowed for use of the model in the Valve® Left 4 Dead SDK. Moundsville Slammer is based on the environment we synthesized in 2009, however it is not a 1:1 replication of the penitentiary. Modifications to the facility model were made to make the gameplay more enjoyable.
