A good short version

It's a good short version of RE3 campaign. Almost all puzzles are removed, so for those who only want to enjoy playing RE3 without having to solve puzzles, this one is the right choice. Some maps are merged into one, like for example, the police office is merged to the next map. Some routes are changed too, so that gives some new experiences in exploring.

I hope that someday I can also see the short version of the other RE series, like RE1, RE2 side A & B. Good work.

Good simple campaign, but bot navigation needs fixing at some areas

Well, I put a review here to balance the score, as it's kind of unfair to give low score on a freshly made campaign. So far, actually this campaign is simple but good. Supplies are provided well. Bot navigation is also good at most areas, though there are some bugs at certain areas.

There are only few problems, like bot navigation bugs in map 2 & lacks of directional arrows in map 2. & the tank waves on the finale spawns two tanks at once on every wave, which could be dangerous in Expert difficulty. There are also some minor problems, but I'll put the detailed problems along with screenshots later on a comment.

Aside from those problems I mentioned above, this campaign is good to play for fun.

Short but good

This campaign is kind of short but it's good. Well, as this campaign is still being developed so it kind of normal that this campaign still looks short. It still has many potentials to improve, like for examples (just some ideas to share):
- In map 1, the route in the canal has been extended. As it still has potentials to be extended more, I think it would be more fun when map 1 becomes a longer exploration through the canal.
- Then, for map 2, as the main event is in the subway, the tweaked part would be the journey before reaching the subway. Making survivors go around the town a bit longer while adding more events would make map 2 more fun & challenging. As for the subway event, it could also be tweaked with some missions like changing trains from one to another when reaching certain location but survivors would need to repair some switches/ power to make the next train work.
- I think it would be a waste if the mission to find an item is only available in map 1. Adding more events about collecting items would also be a good idea for improvements.

As for the problems of this campaign, if some people complained about too early alarm event in the beginning of map 1, this one is removed on the new update so they shouldn't have problems anymore. As for the finale, the finale is actually working. It's just that the rescue unit takes longer than usual, like, normally rescue unit arrives in seconds after the rescue music is triggered. But in this campaign, after the rescue music is played, survivors need to kill about 2-3 more tanks in total before the rescue unit arrives. In Expert difficulty, the longer survivors wait during rescue time, the more chaotic it would become with horde + tank combo coming from both sides.

In short, this campaign has no serious problem, because in my opinion, the only thing that's still below my expectation is the length of campaign, as I expected it to be a long enough campaign to be enjoyed like "Dead City" & "Left Behind". But as this is still being developed, so, I hope that this campaign could be expanded more on the next updates. I'm looking forward to the next updates.

Campaign with driving vehicle as the main feature

Probably this is the first campaign (or second? I heard that "Glubtastic" also has driving feature but I haven't tried yet) that fully implements a driving vehicle feature in all maps. & all maps require driving vehicle to certain points in order to trigger some missions or collect items. Players can roam freely by walking too, but that won't trigger any mission, so at least one player has to drive. The supplies are provided along the way, though somehow bile bomb is rarely found. But that's not a big problem as the horde population is not crowded during panic events. Bot navigation is fine, though they can't ride the vehicle (the author said that it's to prevent bugs).

When playing this, players must prepare to anticipate some unexpected problems, like:
1. Vehicle getting stuck.
About 25% chance (1 of 4 tries), vehicle will get stuck when hitting some solid objects. Though some objects causing this bug have been fixed, the author is still searching & fixing other objects that also cause this stuck bug. To play safe, drive carefully & try not to hit objects/ obstacles.
2. No glow on items when driving the vehicle.
This problem is probably not a serious one on most missions, but special for crane event, this will make players need to have extra focus to search for where the pump machine is.
3. Carried items can drop easily.
Unlike the gnome or other official carried items, the custom items especially wooden planks are easy to drop when players turn around & the objects hit other objects, walls, or other survivors. When playing with bots especially in map 4, bots will become annoying because they will often make player drop the items during moving items from vehicle into the house. So if playing with bots, it's necessary to order bots to wait with certain commands (some bot mods have such commands. Or use "sb_hold_position" cvar to make bots wait).
4. Extra difficulty on crane control.
In map 3, there's a mission to pick a pump machine using crane. The crane control switch is small with small buttons on each movement, & each button doesn't have glow (I think glow on buttons is really needed here as that could become very useful to help players when pointing crosshair on a button. Or at least make the arrows have white color), so the player controlling the crane needs extra focus to see which buttons to press E to move crane to the pump machine. With horde & special infected disturbing survivors outside the room, at least one player or all bots need to wait outside to cover the player controlling the crane (it's recommended to use some bot mods if playing with bots as vanilla bots can't be trusted to cover). Actually this crane control would be easier if it used the same control settings as the vehicle, but well, I think the author had his own reasons for not making it same as vehicle control.

As long as players are prepared to anticipate all 4 problems I mentioned above, they can play this campaign without problem. Well, I hope that there would be Pesaro 5 next time, with another new feature added.

Simple but good campaign

Though it's a simple campaign, it's good & playable with bots & players. The difficulty is balanced & supplies are enough. Good work for a first map.

Not bad, just with some annoying horde at certain areas

At first, I thought that this was a survivor mod when reading the title without seeing the number of map listed on the thumbnail. Well, there's no serious problem in this campaign except the horde, I guess. Oh, & the key in map 1 could also become a problem, because most of the time, players will go down the stairs first to reach the locked door, to find out that they have to go back to certain upper floor to pick the key. Well, fortunately the key is at the fixed location. It would be a real headache if the key location is randomized as well.

As for the annoying horde, it shows up in map 1 near the end of map. The problem is that it's without a hint, so players have no idea whether they have to wait until the horde stops coming or rush, at least until they figure out that it's an endless horde. Map 2 also has one near the end of the map. As for map 3, the annoying horde starts from the beginning of map, at least until survivors reach the radio. I think a hint like "Find your way/ run to the train station" just after survivors exit saferoom would be helpful. At least that would make players know that they need to keep running without waiting horde to stop coming.

Though the beginning of map 3 could be difficult with the restless horde & fast special infected spawn interval, the finale is kind of easy, at least until the rescue time. The problem in the finale is the hints/ arrows about where to go, & also a glow on the rescue train. Most people usually defend near the radio, & when the rescue time is triggered, they try to look around. As there's no arrow or glow on the rescue train, they would take more time to find the way while tank & horde start chasing.

Aside from the problems I mentioned above, it's good to play. It would be better if the horde is balanced someday on the next updates.

Not recommended for normal play

I just gave a try because there's one average review with 6 score, but well, I got disappointed in the end as it's a "it's a trap" thing & I jumped on it. This is basically a trap & troll campaign, though it's still not as extreme as "Hehe" series or other custom campaigns with punishing & unreasonable traps. In terms of campaign with traps, "Cave Tour" is still tolerable than this. As this campaign teleports survivors quite often, bot navigation is not that good & they're left behind so often. Supplies are not provided either in almost all saferooms.

Now, let me explain what makes this campaign not recommended for normal play, like if you want to play without "sv_cheats 1" or other custom cheats, you'd better skip this campaign. Here are some of the reasons:
----------

- Map 1, once you press a button in the beginning, you'll be greeted by lots of chargers ready to bring you down to the pit. There are also moving block traps (these shouldn't be difficult). Then, after you pass the moving block traps, you'll be thrown away to somewhere from very high place & you need to land on water, or you know what will happen.

- There's an unavoidable trap that once you enter an area, all items in inventory are gone & you'll have to escape from several tanks' pursuit (I hated such unfair trap that removes weapons so I just used a chat command to instantly kill all tanks). 

- Map 3 has some frustrating events & it can't be completed in Singleplayer (it requires 8 players, with at least 2 players are standby on each of two posts). The first event is "Punishment Scavenge Event", like, if you pour a gascan on a certain fuel filler, certain special infected listed on the fuel filler will spawn on the other side, & it also works from the other side. The next frustrating one is an unavoidable minigame about finding 2 keys with the camera view from above (bird view) like viewing a map. The survivors look very small like ants, while at the same time there are witches to avoid (imagine how you'll avoid a witch with such tiny view). I couldn't clear this one because one key was missing, & I was already tired of controlling some ants looking for a key so I skipped this map when entering this minigame.

- Map 4 is even more frustrating. You become a fast runner faster than a car & you need to keep running while avoiding obstacles. At first, it's simply just avoiding obstacles. Then, later, you'll have to avoid some armored vehicles coming at you in high speed. After that, you'll have to avoid all objects thrown at you from the front, from trunks, dumpsters, anything. I got so frustrated that I activated custom god mode instead as this map is basically filled with troll traps.

- There are also multiple door traps that you need to choose one of three doors to proceed to the next set of three doors. Wrong choice will send you to face several tanks at once, or lots of wandering witches, or a closet that shoots, or simply a trap to throw a pipe bomb to a hole on the wall.

- There's also a holdout event that you need to defend for 10 minutes (kind of waste of time as it's simply just a holdout event without any other objectives to do).

- The only easiest thing is the finale, as you only need to run back to the military base camp, but with several tanks & horde pursuing. It's very short if you can arrive to base camp.

In short, prepare "sv_cheats 1" if you want to play this campaign, except if you're patient enough against the odds of the whole traps, tanks, & witches thrown at you.

Basically a campaign with endless horde & more tanks to fight

Just as the title said, it's a short campaign with endless horde & more tanks to fight. Even in map 2, each time survivors climb down a long ladder, there's a high chance that a tank will spawn somewhere in a certain vent. & accompanied with endless horde, the tank will be difficult enough to beat in Expert. There's also a certain very very long ladder in which special infected would start to spawn when survivors climb midway (this could be Chenchen's style of special infected trap?), so at least there will be one survivor getting strangled by smoker's tongue during climbing the long ladder. The finale also has longer time to wait until the rescue unit arrives after the rescue time is triggered, so prepare for more tanks to fight. My score here is simply for having no instant-death trap in this campaign. It would have been worse if there had been any instant-death traps. Well, in short, it might be playable in lower difficulty levels, but it's not recommended to play in Expert.

Not bad for a first campaign

Well, as this is the author's first campaign, I'll talk more about the playability & some problems to fix instead. Actually this campaign is not bad. It's playable.Bot navigation is good in overalls except at some areas (I'll explain about this later). Supplies are enough, but some areas might need more supplies added (I'll explain about this later too). As for hints, it needs more hints. As for the finale, well, I think it needs to be balanced more.

For the problems, here's the list of problems I found so far:
1. Bots can't pick items in the saferoom. They only pick when they're pushed near the items.
2. Certain bots have weird navigation inside.
3. The bridge needs more supplies, as there's endless incoming horde during crossing the bridge.
4. The finale has too fast tank spawn interval. In my play, I fought more than 4 tanks just to fill up 8 gascans in Singleplayer.
5. The rescue boat needs more clues about what to do to escape. In my play, I almost did a leap of faith into the boat just because there was a quite wide gap between the boat & the dock. Thankfully I only needed to gather all survivors near the boat.

Night version of Death Aboard

Just as the title said, this is a night version of Death Aboard of L4D2. The classic version of this campaign is in day time. So far, there aren't many differences from the version of day time, except the setting of time & the survivor set. While the classic version has L4D2 survivors, this one has L4D1 survivors. Other than those I mentioned, this campaign is as good as the classic one. Directions are clear, supplies are well provided. With this night version, players can now freely choose which one to play, like, if they want to play in day time, they can play the classic version, & if they want the night time, they can play this one.

Good remake version

Such a good remake version. I tested both this remake version & the classic version, & I figured out that there are major changes on the remake version. Those major changes make this campaign almost look like a brand new campaign. & although both remake & classic versions have 4 maps in total, this remake version has longer journey, but it's still balanced as the supplies are well provided. The remake version also has more explorable areas so survivors can wander more freely. As for bot navigation, there's no problem.

So in short, this remake version is a good one, & playable with bots & other players. Good work in creating the remake version.

Pretty good campaign to play

It's a good campaign. Though it's rather long for certain maps, supplies are provided well along the way. Many areas are explorable so players can wander more freely to look for supplies. Bot navigation is good, & hints are provided well. Probably the greatest challenge is the finale as it's a long finale with more aggressive horde than usual. The difficulty of the finale almost feels like "Cold Stream" finale, I think.

Well in short, it's playable with bots or other players, though probably it would have increased difficuly in the finale if playing with bots, especially vanilla bots. But modified bots probably can survive the finale, especially if bots can carry & throw grenades.

Nice "Silent Hill" concept, but many things need fixing

The concept about "Silent Hill" environments is good. Unfortunately, there are still many things to fix, like:
1. Invisible walls in map 1 & 2.
2. Bugged common infected's spawn (most of the time, they either stand still or don't spawn at all)
3. Bugged special infected's spawn (they are often stuck somewhere or behind a locked door.
4. Items & switches don't glow.
5. Many empty areas & rooms (it feels like middle quality between orange campaign & well-made campaign, more to imperfect campaign that still needs some works).
6. Less to no clue about the items & switches.
7. Many "Error" signs in map 1 even after using "Halflife Texture".

In short, compared to old "Silent Hill" campaigns, this one is the incomplete version. There's nothing much to expect except exploration & puzzle-solving missions (this reminds me of "The Divide" campaigns that also focus more on exploration & puzzle-solving missions). Unfortunately, this campaign is discontinued so any further updates are impossible, unless if the author is back or there are some people willing to either fix this campaign or use some of the maps as a mashup campaign.

Playable but kind of difficult at certain areas

Well, actually this campaign is not bad. It's just that, as other people said, there are some tank challenges that spawn even in the beginning of map. Map 1 has like 3-4 tank chasing survivors once they get out of saferoom. The distance is quite far, but it's more like escape event but with tanks chasing from behind while at the same time survivors still need to explore the building for the escape route. On map 2 in my case, one tank also waited outside saferoom. I got fed up so I one-shot killed with a modified awp sniper with a special bullet to kill any special infected, tank, with in any amount of health in one hit. The routes of this campaign could be confusing for those who play for the first time, but for those who love exploration, I think they won't have a problem.

Well, for me, the biggest problem is the finale. Aside from being so long as a final map, the finale also lacks clues about which switches & lever to press & where they are. In my case, I thought it was a holdout finale so I waited near the house where to start the finale. After 2 waves of tank were over, I still waited for minutes just in case if there's another tank wave, but there's no clue, at least until the endless horde + tank kept coming. I tried to press any switches, from that building, & also across the building where there were 2 tanks waiting behind, & also a lever above the bridge, but the rescue door was still stuck & the switch didn't open the door when pressed. Even bots with their navigation rushed & warped into the room behind the door, leaving me alone outside the locked door. As I got tired of finding another switch to unlock that door, I just warp through it & the finale ended.

In short, it's playable, but with higher difficulty than the standard difficulty of a campaign. Playing in Expert might be difficult on certain maps of this campaign.

Good classic campaign

This campaign is one of L4D1 campaigns that I played back then when I decided to play many L4D1 campaigns without porting properly & simply by depending on "Missing Content Fix" to fix most missing textures. Now that the real proper port is available, I won't need to play the L4D1 version again. Well, this campaign is playable. Bot navigation is good. Some supplies are scattered at some areas.

However, this campaign has many empty rooms & areas, especially inside the mall in map 1. Well, it's one of common things to see in L4D1 campaign after all. Some hints & glows might need to be added as some switches are without glow. For example, in map 1, the switch to open the rolling door in the beginning of map doesn't glow, as well as the switch to turn the generator on. Players who play this campaign for the first time might be confused for awhile in map 1, at least until they see the cables. Another thing is the mission to destroy a wall in a certain map. There's no hint there, so it might lead to confusion for awhile. There's also horde triggered early in maps other than map 1, but I think it's not a big problem as survivors are still inside saferoom & the horde will stop in few seconds.

Other than those problems about glow & hints, this campaign works well. I hope that there would be more ported L4D1 campaigns in the future.

One short campaign to enjoy

Well, at first I expected this campaign to be long with such file size, but I didn't expect that it would end too fast. So far, this campaign is playable. The supplies are enough, though the area during the finale might need some supplies or at least ammo piles (I camped near the first aid kits so I had no idea if there's ammo supplies somewhere else). Bot navigation has no problem. Some events are easy to understand so I think people who play this campaign for the first time won't have a problem.

Btw, some parts of this area seem nostalgic. For example, the first area inside a building reminds me of a Chinese campaign in workshop. I don't really remember the campaign name, maybe something like "Lost School". The difference is that in "Lost School", a scavenge event is waiting outside the building. I wonder if the author is the same as the one who made that campaign. & the finale slightly reminds me of a holdout event in "Farewell Chenming", one map before the finale. Well, it's just slightly similar, like when holding out while waiting the train in the subway.

Well, I hope that someday this campaign would be extended to be like 3 or 4 maps long. The concept of love story between Ellis & Zoey seems interesting, & it would be great if there are developments on the story as more maps are added.

Campaign designed to fight certain special infected

Well, to put it simply, it's a holdout campaign to fight specific special infected based on the each map name. Players only need to hold out for few minutes. There's no common infected, & explorable areas are limited only in a small square surrounded by deadly environments (like deep water, spikes etc) in most area. In my play, as I couldn't roam freely, I just let my elite bots kill most special infected as they're much faster in detecting the spawned special infected than I was, & I was too lazy to move when there's no area to explore.

So, if you like challenging yourself to fight special infected by using certain mutation modes (like "Hard Eight") or simply just want to train your reaction speed in avoiding special infected's attack, you can try this campaign. But if you like adventure or exploration, you may skip this one.

Campaign with traps & puzzles not for beginners

Well, as I said on the title (& the author also mentioned similar things), this campaign is too difficult for beginners, especially when it comes to traps & puzzles. The traps are without any hints, like for example, the falling roof traps in map 2, & most traps in map 4. The puzzles also have less to no hint, especially puzzles in map 4. & special for map 4, it's a "Map of No Return" which means that if the puzzles are not done in order & the building is already crumbled after using elevator, there's no way to go back to the upper floor. Puzzle in finale about numbers is also without a hint, & it could generate a wide propeller trap that instantly incapacitates survivor when certain numbers are pressed. What's worse is the bot navigation. It's really not recommended to play with bots, because they'll most likely die very early due to bad navigation & traps.

In short, this campaign is only for those who want challenges to avoid traps & solve puzzles with less to no hint. & I think this campaign is harder than "Powerstation", "Curse of Lazar Castle", & "Sector 74" campaigns. "Powerstation" is similar in terms of traps without hint but there's no difficult puzzle, while "Curse of Lazar Castle" has many traps & puzzles but there are enough hints to avoid all traps (if players carefully explore each map to look for hints, they can clear this campaign without falling into any traps). & for "Sector 74", although it has traps, there are hints about how to avoid. So, this "Left 4 Dust" campaign is on higher difficulty than those other campaigns I mentioned, though I think it would be less difficult than "hehe". series as traps in "hehe" series are on another level. So, play this only when there are other players available.

Good old Silent Hill campaign with working finale

Well, I just tested a quick run on a full play in this campaign as I still remember puzzles of each map. So far, it's playable & glows on items are now added, with only few problems left. Actually I expected to see more supplies especially weapons, but unfortunately, supplies are still too few especially in the beginning of each map. There are also some mechanisms changed when compared to the original one. I'll review on each map in short explanations.

Map 1:
- There's an unknown new mechanism that hides the key at dog house. The key is still there, but it isn't spawned normally even after all 3 of 4 keys are collected (4 keys are at an alley somewhere, car somewhere, mail box at a house somewhere, & dog house). In my play, I figured this unknown new mechanism out when I used a special chat command to pick all key items in the whole map with my mod after picking 3 of 4 keys, & the 4th keys at the dog house appeared. So, I think this unknown new mechanism is unnecessary as the original missions were without problem. Or at least a hint is needed at the dog house about how to find a new item/ mechanism required to spawn the key at the dog house.
- Some weapons are removed & moved. Originally, there were a hunting rifle somewhere at the alley, & a rifle at the construction building. But now, the hunting rifle is replaced with smgs, while the rifle is either removed or moved in the cafeteria.

Map 2 (school):
- Caption on the locker is removed. I have no idea if the quest on the locker is removed or not as in my play I still pressed E on the locker just in case if the mechanism was still there. Other than that, there's no problem.

Map 3 (school 2) & map 4: no problem

Map 5:
- There's a scripted witch spawn behind basement door. Bots usually rush when detecting saferoom, so, they'll more likely trigger the witch even before players try to burn or kill the witch.

Map 6: no problem

Map 7:
- Now there's auto mechanism at the altar that forces survivors to regroup. The original version doesn't have it so if playing with bots on original version, players have to push bots one by one. So this is a good point.
- Bots rush to the saferoom door where scripted tank spawns. Actually this is still the same as the original so this still becomes a problem if playing with bots. In fact, there's already a solution for this in map 6. In map 6, somehow bots can't rush to saferoom if the key isn't obtained yet & once players obtain the key, bots start to rush. This could also be applied to map 7 to solve this problem, so bots won't rush when scripted tank spawns. There might be an alternative solution to block bot's navigation to the saferoom so bots only wait on the narrow bridge instead of rushing, until tank is killed & saferoom is unlocked after tank's death.

Map 8: no problem

Map 9:
- The quests at the resort area (motel etc) can be skipped. The original actually also works this way. Player can skip quests simply by going to the bridge. The quests are actually not that important except to get some supplies.
- Related to the "skippable" quests, I think blocking the bridge with a locked gate would also be good. You can put the key for the gate of the bridge in the garage (the last room to unlock is the garage with some supplies). That way, players have no choice but to finish the quests first in order to unlock the gate of the bridge.

Map 10 & 11: no problem

Map 12:
- As this one is a randomized finale, I only list a finale I had in my play. The finale I had was at an arena surrounded by pit with ammo & some supplies at the center. The only wall was near the path to the rescue location. This finale has no notification/ hint about how to trigger the holdout finale as it either starts automatically or starts after players roam around for few seconds (it's unclear about what to trigger the finale. Probably a radio or skull near the supplies at the center needs to be added so players can press it to start the holdout finale). There's also no notification when the rescue was coming so players can depend on tank waves, as the rescue is triggered like the usual holdout finale.

So in short, this campaign is working from beginning to the finale. However, players may be stuck in map 1 for awhile at the dog house because of an unknown new mechanism. I also couldn't figure that mechanism out till the end. Other than that & those I mentioned above, it's good to play. Probably it's better to play this campaign in mutation modes that multiply the number of special infected (like "Hard Eight" mutation mode) or intensify the panic events to give more challenges, because when playing in coop with default settings, many areas are too quiet to explore.

Good campaign to enjoy

It's been awhile since last time I played this campaign. & I laughed as always when listening to gnome's insults on survivors. The supplies are well-provided, & it feels good to get good weapons since the beginning. The routes are clear, & there are fun features of riding truck & helicopter in certain map.

Btw, the finale is always full of laughter. I loved the finale so much, as I often baited a tank into tornado & then I laughed hard seeing him keep twisting so fast. Well, this  campaign is still one of good campaigns I enjoy besides "Dead Island" & your other campaigns. I often played "Dead Island" when I wanted to play maps with puzzles & missions to finish.

Good in overalls, with only few problems

This campaign is actually good. This one can't be missed when playing RE campaigns. Just like other RE series, this one also has some objectives to do. Supplies are enough & hints are also well provided. Unlike other RE series, there's no puzzle here, but there's a special trap that reminds me of the RE movie. Bots can't survive there, because they're too lazy to follow players to the safe area. There are also timed events too that players have to escape as fast as possible.

The only problem here is bot navigation. Bots can't follow players at certain areas, for example, near maintenance room in map 1, during collecting ward room in map 1. Special infected are also bugged at many areas except during escape event. For example, in map 1, after entering hospital during objectives to find keys & turn on generator, special infected are bugged so players only face common infected. In other areas, special infected are stuck as they often spawn behind the doors, so, unless players open the doors, special infected can't do anything.

In short, this campaign is good to play with bots or other players. But if it's played with bots, prepare a defib at laser trap area, as all bots will die & you'll be left alone. This campaign is a good for a starting campaign when you want to play all RE series, as this one will introduce the missions of finding items that can be found in other RE campaigns.

Long campaign with many features in one, but don't play it with bots

Well, this is a very long campaign. I took more than 4 hours to finish this campaign with bots in normal difficulty (it would have taken longer if I had played in Expert, especially in map 8 & 15). As the title said, it's not recommended to play this with bots, as bots can't survive at most areas especially during boss fights. Supplies are more than enough. For bot navigation, well, at least they can follow players at normal areas. They will fall from long ladders quite often & can't avoid trap areas (that's why I said that it's not to play with bots).

In overview, this campaign consists of several elements: missions of finding items/ switches, battles during riding transportation units (from truck, train, airplane, to helicopter), platforming, traps with hints, & custom boss battles. If you've ever played "Counter Strike Online" in "Zombie Scenario" or "Human Scenario", probably you'll feel familiar with fighting custom bosses & doing some missions as those are also available in scenarios I mentioned. As for the traps, though the traps are not as cruel & as unforgiving as those in "hehe" series, bots can't survive most traps so you'll be left alone most of the time when playing with bots. The difficulty on boss fights will be greatly increased too if you play with bots, as you'll be the only one shooting the bosses while bots just stand still as they can't detect custom bosses. So, play with at least with one or more players.

As for the specific reviews on each map, map 1 is the easiest among the rest of the maps, as survivors only need to look for paths leading to the trainyard area. The map is explorable, so players can try to explore for supplies or simply just proceed to the trainyard. The only problem here is the lag spike. Compared to the rest of the maps, map 1 cause quite much fps drops, probably it's because of lots of trees & plants & also many objects like corpses.

Starting from map 2, players can't depend on bots. Map 2 goes from normal exploration inside the train to the first introduction to custom boss fight. There are 2 bosses, humvee & helicopter. Snipers might be the most recommended weapon for the high damage & accuracy if the bosses are out of minigun range.

Map 3 is actually playable with bots as it's mostly about exploration in forest area, at least until reaching near saferoom. This map is also fully explorable, like, players can choose to follow the trails or just go through forest. In my play, I went through forest as I had a habit to explore a map by sticking to the walls/ invisible walls. I also got the clue about the scavenge event because I explored through forest. There's a patrolling boss here, a humvee. I had no idea of what triggers the boss because it just appeared when I explored certain houses. For the scavenge event at the end of map, it's kind of a bit unfair to those who play with bots as the gascans are scattered very far, & there are some explosive barrels near the generator, so if bots shoot the barrels by accident (most likely they'll shoot as bots love shooting barrels for fun) & there are gascans nearby, players have no choice but to collect again. & bots are also bugged near the generator, because they will try to go to the saferoom though it's still blocked (so they will take hits from zombie & waste their health). So, when scavenge event starts, don't expect much on bots to cover you during filling up the generator.

Map 4 takes place in tunnel & some factories. Map 4 has the introduction of platforming & traps. In the platforming mission, players need to jump on platforms that move to certain direction as soon as they land on it. It's simply just jumping on platforms, but if players fall, they have to start from the first platform again. As for the traps, the introduction of the traps starts from the movable box puzzle & trap. The boxes can move to certain direction when players pressing E & after few second, the boxes return to the default position. There are many boxes with different moving directions, & they also work as traps because if players don't move immediately, they'll get pressed & take damage (not instant incapacitation or instant death though) depending on how long they are pressed. In my play, I got frustrated after trying to think & memorize each of the box movements, so I kept pressing E on any boxes & see while running & luckily I passed. After this puzzle, there are red rolling door traps. These rolling doors keep opening & closing in certain interval, & unlike the previous trap, it causes instant death when pressed. Some bots will die here. These traps will stop automatically after players enter the rooms inside the red rolling doors. The next one is a spinner puzzle. It's not a trap, as the spinner machines only spin either survivors or zombies to the direction they're spinning. They don't cause damage, but players will suffer some misdirection/ confusion of where to go after getting spun. In my play, I gave up as my head also spun & I lost direction, so I just did some "air dash" jump from my mod to pass it. It would be more fun if played with other players, as there would be lots of laughters at this area, seeing how other players & zombies spinning so fast. The last thing awaiting near the end of map is a laser trap. There are several lasers blocking the way, & at certain intervals some lasers will shut down for few seconds. The lasers cause damage but not big enough as long as survivors don't stay at where lasers are shot. Even bots can survive by running blindly, though they'll take damage more than a half of the full health. In my play, I also got frustrated here so I used a special command to warp myself to the location in crosshair & skip this trap. Well, I'm not a fan of traps that are too difficult to avoid damage & not good at avoiding traps, so, that's why.

Map 5 starts from military base with endless horde, at least until the door opens & there's a green glow from afar for the next mission. After leaving the military base, there's underground area. The underground area has explorable rooms so it's considered as a maze. There's a mission to send a rescue signal. Somehow, there's endless horde too at the underground.

Map 6 is a long holdout event in the helicopter. There are many supplies in the helicopter. I don't know whether the helicopter has health or not, as in my play I simply just defended until another helicopter arrived. Bot has navigation problem when the other helicopter arrives with armored vehicle carried below it.Survivors have to jump to that vehicle, but bots are too lazy to jump unless they get warped via commands. & even if they jump, they'll die sooner or later by falling from the armored car.

Map 7 is quite long, starting from the shore where the helicopter lands. This map is not friendly to bots, as survivors have to climb up the cliff & bots often fall from the long ladder during climbing, & not to mention that there's a tank waiting on the top. There's a mission to find 3 switches on the top of the cliff, & it shouldn't be difficult. There's also toxic water trap that causes continuous damage when stepped on. The damage isn't as big as spitter's acid, but bots really can't detect where the wooden planks to walk safely so they take damage for no reason & even some get incapacitated. There's a chopper boss trying to attack survivors several times. There's also a sentry robot carrying m60 as an ally that floats & follows certain survivor, though I'm not sure if it's useful as I didn't see it helping shoot zombies when it followed one of the bots during my play. I think the custom weapon "Handmade Sentry Turret" from a mod is much better as an ally in sweeping zombies.

Map 8 is the second rank of the maps I hate the most here in this campaign. Why? Because I hate excessive traps. Actually there are hints provided in this map about where the safe locations during walking to the corridors or traps, but I still lose my mood fast enough when there are too many traps (well it's just my personal opinion, as other people might see these traps as fun challenges). Various kinds traps are available here, from different kinds of block press traps, floating block traps, laser traps, electricity traps, toxic water traps, to pressing machine traps. In my play, I gave up at the pressing machine traps so I just warped in crosshair & skipped it to proceed to the toxic water traps. I also used warp command many times to keep bots alive while at the same time ordering them to stop moving with my mod so they wouldn't follow me when I was trying to avoid traps.

Map 9 is playable with bots as it's only a maze tunnel. The tunnel has many explorable rooms & routes, but there's a hint about how to find the right path. In my play, as I wasn't good at solving a maze either, I just kept walking to the left & exploring slowly until a notification popped up.

Map 10 is also playable with bots, though some bots will fall from long ladders here. This map is mostly about exploration through maze vents. There's a holdout event in the maze toilet. There are fragile floor traps here, but they're easy to pass as players can break them by shooting or swinging melee to see which floors are safe & which are breakable.

Map 11 is also playable with bots, & it takes place inside an airplane. It goes from normal to several boss fights against chopper boss. The route is slightly confusing, as new players won't find out that they have to go out of the plane from the window in order to reach the pilot. The boss fights here might be a little difficult as players have to shoot from windows or go out to the wings to shoot. In my play, I was too tired to go out & fight the chopper boss, so I used my mod "Celestial Melee Weapon" & use "explosion type" melee to deal damage to the boss from inside the plane.

Map 12 is playable with bots, but it's a really long map at a plane runway. It's long because it's a maze of fences & blockades, like, survivors need to go around the blockades & fences to proceed. There are also some missions, but they're simple missions to open some gates.

Map 13 & 14 are maps specialized in boss fights. From map 13, survivors have to destroy some vehicle & chopper bosses. Some vehicles can't be destroyed but they transport zombies instead. There are 6 waves of boss fights, which make map 3 long enough to clear. In my play, I was so tired in shooting alone (as I ordered bots to stay in the vehicle as they're useless & just burdens except for clearing zombies) so I activated a special bullet specialized in killing custom bosses by dealing damage equal to certain percentage of the remaining health no matter how much the health was, so any bosses died in like 3-5 shots. Normally it should be a long & challenging long fight if more than one player helps shoot the bosses, but if played with bots, it becomes a tiring long fight.

Map 14 also a boss-specialized map, & in this map there appear gigantized zombies as special bosses with health bar HUD, & also some robots. Some normal bosses like vehicles & choppers still appear several times until the special bosses appear. Again, in my play, I used the special bullet, & one shot took like 25-30% of the health bar (normally it should take longer). I didn't check boss' abilities as most bosses died in 3-8 shots, but the robots had laser attacks & severals parts to destroy before it's completely destroyed. For this matter, I used "explosion-type" melee of "Celestial Melee Weapons" to deal area damage to several parts at once.

& map 15 is the 1st rank among the maps of this campaign that I hate the most. Why? Because it's a map with a "Donkey Kong Tank" game. If you've ever played some old games about "Donkey Kong", you'll be familiar with a gorilla throwing some barrels & then Mario (or Wario?) has to jump to avoid the barrels. It's the same here. Survivors have to avoid the barrels that the tank rolls from the top of the building. What I hate is because the barrels are unbreakable & cause from instant incapacitation to instant death. Normally it's still beatable with bots if the barrels either deal continuous damage (not instant incapacitation) if survivors don't jump, or the barrels are breakable by shooting. However, because they're unbreakable, bots will die first, leaving you alone jumping over the barrels & it's a game over when hit as nobody but you is alive. Not only barrels, the zombies also keep coming, making the jumping attempts feel harder due to the distraction of the focus. In my play, my frustration reached maximu & finally broke my patience after dying more than 5 times, so, I used "Air Dash" on my mod to jump in the air until I reached the top (actually noclip would also do, but I'd rather use "Air Dash" as it's more fun to still have gravity afftecting the jumps) & left the kingkong tank speechless. Well, in my opinion, of all maps in this campaign, this map is the only one that can't be beatable by normal means unless the survivors consist of expert players that are good at jumping over obstacles/ traps & I'm sure that some of them still get incapacitated or killed by the barrels even with their expert jumping skills. Well, I just hope that this map would be slightly "nerfed" someday, by reducing the barrel damage or making them have health & breakable after several shots, so that normal players can also beat this map.

Then, map 16, the finale, is a holdout finale in a small island. The finale has 2 phases, holdout finale & boss fight finale. Boss fight happens after holdout event ends & rescue music is played. In my play, that's what happened. Even after 2nd tank wave ended & rescue music was played, I still had to defend for more than 5 minutes until the final boss showed up from the depth of the sea. It's a robot with several parts to destroy. The difficulty was greatly increased because horde & tank also kept coming during that boss fight (because rescue music was played). As I was already tired after playing a long campaign in one go, I used a feature of my mod "Awp Readjustment" & set awp damage to instantly kill a tank with one shot from awp no matter how much health he had (100% health-based damage) while using "explosion-type" melee of "Celestial Melee Weapons" mod to deal area damage to several parts of the boss' huge body at once. After defeating the robot, survivors celebrated the victory by relaxing & Rochelle doing headbanging near the music box, but there's no credit screen showing stats (I wonder if this is a bug or it's intentional).

Well, in short, play this campaign with other players for the best experiences & results. Playing with bots will make you get frustrated really fast just like what I did, as bots will die very early & leave you alone in most maps. Probably it would be nice if there's a "safe"/ "nerfed" version that reduces damage on most traps especially the barrels on "Donkey Kong Tank" game. Or a version with puzzles instead of traps like "Residen Evil" series. Though solving puzzles/ mysteries also takes time to think, there's no time limit or danger when failed to solve puzzles.

Good campaign for those who love doing some missions

As the title said, this campaign has key-finding mechanisms & some missions to operate switches. For those who love "Resident Evil" series & "Silent Hill" campaigns, this campaign is one that can't be missed. This campaign is balanced, & the difficulty is still lower than the old "Silent Hill" series with 12 maps & "Silent Hill: Otherside of Life", as the items are still easy to find as long as players explore areas carefully. Bot navigation is good in overalls, & supplies are enough. The hints & directions are also clear.

The only problem is probably the last map. The last map is long, with some missions to do first. Then, the scavenge finale is harder than normal scavenge finale as most of gascans are in the underground. & if players fail during scavenge finale, they have to start from the beginning & do some missions again. It would be better if the last map is split into 2 maps, like one map contains all missions before going to the scavenge area, & then the next map, survivors spawn in one of the wooden houses in the scavenge area & the scavenge finale starts when survivors open the door of the wooden house. This way, even if players fail during scavenge event, they will repeat the scavenge event right away without having to walk & finish missions.

Well, aside from the last map, this campaign is good to play with bots or other players.

Zengcheng with reverse route

I've played Zengcheng campaign since the old versions, so I can say that this one is the reverse version of the old version. The 1st map of this new version is the finale of the old version. It's not entirely reversed, as map 4 of the old version at the bridge becomes the finale of this new version. This one is also a safer version, as it's more like a linear version with less missions compared to the old version. This version reminds me of "Cold Case" campaigns, like, the first "Cold Case" is like the old Zengcheng campaign in which there are some missions to complete especially missions to find items in order to proceed, while "Cold Case: Forsaken" is a linear version if people want to enjoy without doing some missions, & this is like the current Zengcheng as the current Zengcheng is much simpler version than the old version. But it's still a good campaign to enjoy.

So in short, this one was made to be enjoyed without having to think much about missions of collecting items etc. Supplies are enough, & bot navigation is good. The difficulty is balanced, so it's safe to play even with bots.

Good blue campaign to challenge yourself

This was actually my 2nd play. The first time I played this campaign was on Steam, when the maps were still 5 in total. This new version removed one map, & smoker's area. Well, fortunately I still have the old version, so I can visit the removed map again later to check which parts were removed.

In overview, actually this campaign is still playable. There's no instant-death trap so people can rest assured, Most traps are just special infected traps, especially boomer. There are also some challenges & puzzles here, but I'll give some explanations below. The supplies are more than enough, to the point that you will always have a grenade ready & supplies replenished when reaching new areas. Bot navigation is good in overalls, but they have problems in doing platforming at certain areas.

Map 1 has a some boomer trap greeting survivors. The mechanism is simple, as one survivor needs to check which place to trigger the switch to open the door. Map 1 also has a maze. Survivors need to go through blue tunnels to reach destination. The tunnels are explorable so there's a chance that survivors will go back to previous locations if they don't memorize the route well. Near the end of map, there's an extreme escape event. It's really an escape event in which survivors must run at all costs. Why? Because lots of sitting witches & lots of tanks will be spawned when trying to open the door. Their spawn locations are not too close to survivors so survivors still have a chance to run. & the most difficult part in this map is the last event, "Sniping Event". Survivors need to shoot a button really far away that even the scope can hardly help see it. There's a clue about the location of the switch provided near the sniping area. My clue is, try to scope from right side.

Map 2 has a very wide garden area with a building at the center surrounded by water, & with a switch at the other side. It takes several minutes to arrive to the switch at the other side. In my play, I took shorter time because I used "Air Dash" feature on my mod. But just rest assured, as the garden is free of zombie, at least until survivors try to enter the building at the center. After pressing the switch & accessing the building at the center, there are platforms to jump. However, bots are bugged here. Bots can't follow players, & they somehow keep getting warped back when trying to jump (probably this is a safety system put by the author for the bots). After passing this area, soon survivors will arrive at chess area. The chess area has a puzzle in which survivors need to step on platforms with chess symbols (some don't have symbols). The puzzle has unknown patterns, & probably it has something to do with the codes on the switch at the wide garden outside the building. Somehow in my plays, even my 1st & 2nd plays, I couldn't figure out so I just jumped randomly to trigger the traps. The traps are not dangerous, as there are only 4 types of traps: horde, special infected, tank, witch. Tank & witch are rarely triggered, while special infected & horde are the frequently triggered traps.

Map 3 has several challenges in it. The first challenge survivors have to face is witch's area. Lots of wandering witches will be spawned once survivors enter this area. The door at this area only opens when pressing a switch at the lower floor, while many witches are wandering around (I don't know if killing all witches is also the mission, as I killed all witches in my 1st & 2nd plays :D ). Bots have a great disadvantage here as they often touch a witch by accident when walking, so, if you have a mod to order bots to stop/ wait, you can use it & then finish the mission on your own. 2nd challenge is easier, as it's only climbing spiral stairs with endless horde chasing from behind & special infected spawning either from the tower at the center or from behind. Just keep running & keep throwing a grenade when you find one, & you'll be fine. The real problem is the last challenge. It's a tank's challenge on the rooftop. 2 tanks are spawned when survivors are warped on the rooftop. The main objective is the phone booth at the center. Players can use some strategies to move around in order to enter the phone booth. Again, bots are at disadvantages here as they are bad at avoiding tank. So if you play with bots, ignore them & just go to the phone booth.

Map 4 has several traps before reaching the escape area. In the beginning, burning lemons will greet survivors. When normally people squeeze lemons, these burning lemons will squeeze survivors if they're too close. They have movement patterns so they're easy to avoid. The first events to clear are sniping events. Survivors need to shoot targets until they break or stop moving & the paths will open. There's also one last trap that could be troublesome: electricity trap. This trap has patterns so normally it's easy to pass. What makes it troublesome is that it's paired with charger's spawn at some areas. Their spawn locations are not too close to survivors & they spawn behind generators most of the time so it's still safe & fair enough for survivors. Sometimes it's only one charger, & sometimes 2 or 3 chargers at once. As the chargers are spawned in aggressive state, players need to listen & look around carefully to prepare for charge attacks. When arriving at the escape area, the only mission left is to escape. Twin tanks will greet behind a door, but as the area is wide enough, this thing shouldn't be a problem.Just focus on luring tanks & then run away.

So in overalls, compared to "hehe" series or campaigns with cruel traps, this campaign is still very friendly to players. Even compared to "Questionable Ethics" & "Power Station" campaigns, this campaign still has much friendlier traps, so there's no need to worry about the traps. This campaign is playable with bots & other players, but at some areas that I mentioned above, bots will be at disadvantages so if you play with bots, prepare yourself when arriving at the areas I mentioned above. & for the author, if possible, I think it would be better to provide both versions as well, because the version with removed map was also a good one. Keep the great work.

A campaign for exploration & training your jumping skills

Well, as the campaign description said, this campaign is for exploration purpose. This reminds me of "The Divide" campaign that also focuses on exploration in the last few maps, though there are still zombies there. Meanwhile, for this campaign, common zombie's navigation is bugged in most areas, so, players only meet special infected most of the time. The navigation of special infected is also bugged, but not as serious as the common zombies as special infected can still move freely in most areas. This campaign is actually perfect for certain mutation about multiplied number of special infected, like "Hard Eight" or even more extreme player-made mutations like "Hard 16", to bring some challenges in the lonely maps with less to none common zombies.

Well, in overview, this campaign focuses on exploring routes & jumping on platforms (platforming). Some areas are mazes that require players to look for routes carefully, because although there's no trap, the routes can be confusing as there's no hint or glow on some objects like ladders or where to go. Survivor bots can't follow to jump on platforms most of the time, but they'll get teleported not long after players reach the other side. As bot navigation is not good, you can't make bots lead the way, so you can only depend on yourself to find the path.

In short, if you expect some interesting battles with zombies, you should skip this campaign. But if you want some specific battles with special infected via mutation modes, this campaign could be a good choice to try.

Good mashup campaign to play

So far it's good long mashup campaign to play. Supplies are enough, & bot navigation is good at most areas. Somehow I feel familiar to some maps, like cave on map 1 & 2, then map 5 especially the bridge event. Probably they're also used in other mashup campaigns I ever played, but I forget which ones.

There are only few problems I encountered. The first one is the darkening screen when reaching cave on map 1 & 2. This darkening effect is unusual, because even the flashlight becomes less bright than usual. The second & third problems are related to map 3. Bot navigation in the beginning of map 3 seems strange, like bots become worse than vanilla bots & they keep looking at one direction. But this only happens in the beginning of map. Map 3 is also quite "sensitive", in which if players use various mods, it will crash. However, crash doesn't happen if players only use skin mods like weapon skin & survivor skin mods. I tested by using same set of mods in some heavy campaigns like "Chernobyl", "Cambalache Buenos Aires", & "Pesaro" series but such crash didn't happen, so probably there might be something on map 3 that could cause crash when using many various mods.

Well, aside from the bugs, this campaign is worthy as a collection. It's playable with bots or other players, but if you play with bots, you'll need to rush in the beginning of map 3 with a pipe bomb/ bile bomb as bot navigation is bugged in the beginning of map 3.

A duplicate campaign, all same as the original old version

It's a duplicate campaign of "City 17" (/details/2506), actually. Every route & event are same. The "10 maps" tag is not right, as it doesn't have 10 maps but it has the same number of maps as the original old version does. So if you have the original old version, you don't need to try this as everything is the same.

Another No Mercy version worth a try

Well, it's a good alternative version for the official "No Mercy". It has different routes on each map so playing this campaign would feel like playing a new campaign. So far I found no bug, & supplies are well-provided. If you're bored of the usual "No Mercy" campaign, you can try this as the alternative.

Just simply playable

Just as the title said, this campaign is just simply playable.It's a really short campaign.It somehow lacks adventure, like, only few seconds of walking & then you'll arrive at the saferoom. Even on map 2, the next saferoom door is just few meters ahead. Bot navigation is good. Directions are clear but some switches don't glow. There's a bug about certain survivors getting stuck in the wall on map 3, but they will be teleported back. The finale in Mars is wide but, well, it's bland. The animation on the rescue plane also looks weird, just like a dragged object & it might need some fixing. Probably it could be a better campaign if it's tweaked to be a longer campaign. But well, it's a very old campaign, so there's nothing to do.

Well in short, if you want to play a campaign that ends in less than 10 minutes, you can try this.

Nice campaign pack to play

As I mentioned on the title, this campaign is special as it's a campaign pack consisting of 2 campaigns: "Cold Case" & "Cold Case: Forsaken". The latest updates fixed most problems that the previous reviews complained about, so now it's guaranteed to play without those major problems in the past. The "Cold Case" still has some to fix but not serious problems (I'll explain later) while "Cold Case: Forsaken" is good to play in overalls. While "Cold Case" has missions about finding items & solving puzzles, "Cold Case: Forsaken" is free from complicated missions so players can choose based on what they prefer, like if they prefer a normal campaign, they can try "Cold Case: Forsaken" with much simpler routes. But if they want some challenges with missions to clear & puzzles to solve, they can try "Cold Case".

Well, as it's a campaign pack, I'll start from "Cold Case" first & then "Cold Case: Forsaken" later.

COLD CASE

This campaign is an old but well-made campaign. It has existed since few years ago, but as it had many bugs to fix, it took long enough time to fix until it's finally playable now. This campaign is not like vanilla campaigns where players only need to follow paths to clear each map, but it's a campaign with some missions to clear before proceeding to the next maps. Thorough exploration is needed in order to find some switches & items.

In overview, bot navigation is no longer bugged & now it's good. There are enough supplies scattered on explorable areas. Every map is fully explorable (that's why I said that thorough exploration is needed), so running randomly will only result in getting lost of confused as some items or switches might be missed to check. There's a special stealth mission here about "Special Witch" that survivors need to sneak carefully to do some missions in order not to startle the special witch that could kill all survivors at once when she's triggered. As there might be some difficulties in solving this mission, I'll give some little clues later.

& now, I'll give some little clues on each map, in case if some players get stuck & have no idea what to do after getting lost somewhere:

#Map 1:
- Inside the jail area, explore carefully & look for tiny light on items or switches.
- After entering a tunnel & reaching junctions to the left & right, if you play for the first time, choose right path instead of the left, as it will make you find the route more easily.

#Map 2:
- As the switches only have tiny white light as the indicator instead of glow, check carefully.
- The main objective inside the building is to turn the power on to operate the elevator. The route to the power switch is fully explorable so it's better to memorize the route you take.
- The elevator can take 2 floor above. After reaching upper floor, press once again to reach the next floor, which is the route to proceed.

#Map 3:
- Most missions here are about collecting keys & items.
- The stealth mission to sneak around the "special witch" is a bit tricky. There are 4 objectives in total: find a key/ item to open a locked door; find a doll; trick the "special witch" with the doll; pick a key to open the locked door on the other side to escape from the "special witch" area.
- A location to place the doll is on witch's left. Walk slowly or crouch during approaching "special witch" to avoid startling the witch. A key can be found near it.
- Check every room carefully & collect all items/ keys inside the building first before going out to the warehouse across the wooden bridge for the last item.

#Map 4:
- Check the rooftop carefully.

#Map 5:
- Check the lockers somewhere. The lockers don't glow so they can be missed.
- After obtaining janitor's key & unlocking the door, check every room carefully as the switch doesn't have tiny light as indicator or glow so it can be missed.

As for the problems that might need fixing, there are some (I mentioned few on the clues above):
- On map 3, A tank's challenge in the river before entering a building where missions to collect items begin might need some balancing. 2 tanks to fight in the river are probably difficult to do in Expert difficulty especially because of the slow movement in the water. Probably reducing it to only 1 tank would still be beatable.
- On map 4, the holdout event probably takes too long. It takes 5 minutes before the holdout event finishes. Probably making it to 3 minutes would balance the holdout event, as 3 minutes are not too long & not too fast either.
- Still on map 4, during tank's challenge near the end of holdout time. There are several tanks spawned at once (they're around 4 or 5 of them. I forgot the exact number). The support bombing doesn't always kill tank so there are still at least 2-3 tanks survive & approach survivors. If possible, making only at least 2 tanks survive would be better by instantly killing other tanks via bombing, as facing at least 3 tanks at once together would be difficult especially in Expert, while fighting 2 tanks would still be possible as there's also plantation house finale on "Swamp Fever" campaign that has 2 tanks spawned & they can still be beaten.
- Many of instructions/ hints cover the screen & to read them, players need to hover the mouse & change the angle. It would be better if the instructions/ hints are changed to smaller templates that can be read more easily.
- Items, keys & switches required to finish the missions only have tiny white light as the indicator instead of glow. That could cause some items/ keys/ switches to be more difficult to find. It would be better to change the tiny white light to glow instead, as glow on items can be more eye-catching & hard to be missed when exploring some areas.
- Some item placement locations might need glow too, like the place where to put the doll near the "special witch" on map 3 & where to put the last item to open the last key in the building.

Aside from those problems, this "Cold Case" campaign is good to play, especially for those who love doing missions about collecting items & solving puzzles.

COLD CASE: FORSAKEN

Well, it can be said that this campaign is the "lite" version of "Cold Case", with easier paths & without the missions about collecting items & solving puzzles. This campaign is perfect for those who want to enjoy a normal campaign & play for fun without having to think about puzzles to solve & items to collect. The routes are also simplified by adding some blockades to some areas so players won't get lost easily. "Cold Case: Forsaken" could also be called "Reverse Cold Case" more or less, because the first map of "Cold Case Forsaken" starts from map 3 of "Cold Case", near the warehouse across the wooden bridge. The bot navigation here also has no problem & the supplies are enough. Directions are clear & paths are simplified so no need to worry about getting lost for minutes.

There are only 2 small problems on this "Cold Case: Forsaken":
- On map 1, near the end of the cutscene in the beginning of map, there's a scripted panic event. This scripted panic event is started even during the last 2-3 seconds of the cutscene where all survivors are still in frozen state. This results in survivors having only less than 3 seconds to grab guns & items before being swarmed by zombies. Probably it would be better to make the scripted panic event get triggered only when the cutscene ends so survivors will have more time to grab items & prepare for horde.
- On the finale, more hints about the location of the rescue unit are needed. In my play, as the radio to start holdout finale was near the tower so I thought the rescue unit would appear not far enough from the tower. But after rescue notification showed up & I stayed near the tower for more than 1 minutes by fighting a tank several times, there's no sign of the rescue unit arriving. Finally I only noticed it when I luckily heard propeller sound & took initiative to go to area that previously had showed a hint covering the screen (the hint was unreadable so I didn't get what it was about).

Well, other than those 2 little problems, this "Cold Case: Forsaken" is worth playing. It's a simpler version of "Cold Case", but it still provides good adventures.

So in short, this "Cold Case Campaign Pack" is worthy as collections, as players can freely choose which "Cold Case" series they want to play. If you love exploring & doing special missions, you can choose "Cold Case", & anytime you want only a normal play without thinking too much of solving puzzles, "Cold Case: Forsaken" will be there for you.

Basically playable, with wide open areas, but many bland places

Just as the title said, this campaign is playable with bots or other players. Bot navigation is good in overalls, though sometimes they take detour at certain areas just to follow a player jumping from a car to behind a fence. Supplies are scattered but well provided.

There are only several main problems here: 
1. The insufficient directional arrows. For example, in maps with woods & river, if players go through woods instead, they will get lost until they hit invisible walls.
2. The invisible walls. There are many invisible walls at the edge of map (some of them are at woods area).
3. Most areas & rooms are bland & empty/ less crowded with objects (well, as this was probably the author's first campaign, then it's somehow tolerable). Many doors are inaccessible, so there's no use in exploring the houses one by one.
4. Most areas are so lonely with very few zombies roaming. It feels more like a campaign about exploration rather than a campaign about surviving from zombie apocalypse. For example, areas like woods or the corners of every map are usually empty or with very few zombies that you can count the number with fingers.
5. The lack of missions/ objectives. Most of the time, survivors only need to walk at the very wide open areas to reach the saferoom at the very far place (as I said on no. 4, it's more like a campaign about exploration).

in short, this campaign has no serious bug as it's basically playable. It's just that some people might be bored when they walk for minutes with only very few zombies to see & less challenges than usual. But if you're a fan of adventure, you could try to explore each map one by one. In my play, I only explore almost half of the maps, while for the rest of the maps I let bots lead the way by using some commands. It's a good campaign to kill time, but not for a challenge as it's simply just an exploration campaign.

Good, but there's a bot navigation problem on finale

Good, playable. Supplies are enough. Bot navigation is good except on finale, as bots keep moving around the players & that can lead to friendlyfire.

Short adventure but fun

It's kind of short adventure but I enjoyed it. Supplies are enough & bot navigation is good. Some areas have zombie spawn problems, like in parking lot there's almost no special infected coming at least until survivors walk long enough further into the deeper part. Then the other area that has zombie spawn problem is the finale, after the 2nd tank is killed & survivors need to escape. The zombies feel like they're left far behind & spawned far behind, not near the survivors so survivors can easily run & reach the chopper. Probably making zombies also come from the front side would be better & more challenging.

Well in short, this campaign is good to play with bots or friends.

One of great campaigns about Italy to play

This is sure one of great campaigns that is as good as the famous old campaigns. The latest update finally fixed the random crash problem in map 4. Supplies in this campaign are enough. There are also some spots that give good weapons in early play if players explore carefully. Bot navigation is fine. Hints & directional arrows are also clear so players won't have a problem in finding the paths.

There are many explorable places to check for supplies. Some maps are long enough to be almost as equal as 2 maps long, but it's no problem as enough supplies are provided & players can enjoy the views around while exploring. There are some missions in certain maps, but the hints are clear enough so players should have no problem. The finale is long but fun, as players can run while enjoying the scenery, & the difficulty is balanced.

In short, this campaign is very recommended to play with bots or friends. If you have ever played great campaigns about some countries like "Tour of Terror", "Day Break", "Farewell Chenming", "Cambalache Buenos Aires" etc, this one is also as good as those famous campaigns. This campaign can't be missed to play.

One of good campaigns to enjoy

Played this textured version, & I got satisfied. I ever played the orange version before, & left some comments here too. Now as the textured version is done, it's time to put a review.

So far, I have no complaints on most maps & areas. The supplies are enough, directions along with object highlights are clear. This campaign is about exploration through streets, buildings & industrial areas. The routes are not confusing as at some explorable areas players can choose to walk to the main route or go into building & alternative route to check for supplies. There are some objectives, but they're simple objectives so players won't have problem in clearing them.

The only problem I found is the bot's behavior during holdout finale. I ever put this too on the old comments when it was still orange version. Bots have strange behavior if players camp at a closed area behind the ladder near the radio. If players camp there, bots will keep moving around like jumping down & then climbing up ladder, & jumping down again etc. This could be dangerous for bots as their strange movements will make them easy targets for zombies & special infected.

Other than one problem I mentioned above, everything is fine & fun to play.

Good short campaign with flexible puzzles

I actually expected puzzles from the beginning of map 1. But unfortunately, puzzles only happen in map 3. Well, that's fine though.

This campaign has kind of short adventure but it's fun. Supplies are enough & bot navigation is fine without problem. Hints & directions are provided well, though a puzzle might need more hints but I'll explain this later. Although map 3 has puzzle, but there are switches that can skip the puzzle so for those who don't like puzzles, they can press those switch. & I loved it when the giant gnome appeared at the end of finale. He looked cool.

Now, about things that might need some modifications, there are few that caught my eyes. First one is the "puzzle skipper" switch. In my last play, I got stuck on a puzzle near the deep water where there's a sniper nearby. Actually I got a gist of the clue, but no matter how many times I shot the object with a target drawing on it, nothing happened. So, I skipped this puzzle. Unfortunately, all puzzles after that were skipped as well. For this one, I think it would be better if one switch only skips one puzzle, because there are some people that only want to skip one puzzle to try to challenge themselves on the next puzzles.

Then the second one is still related to the puzzle near the deep water. More hints might be needed there because it still lack hints.

Aside from points I mentioned above, this campaign is good to play with bots & other players. It's also playable for those who don't like puzzles, because the puzzles can be deactivated to have a normal play without puzzles.

Long journey but enjoyable

Although it's a 3-map campaign, it's quite long, probably it's equal to 4-map campaign. But it's worth playing. Bot navigation is fine, & supplies are enough. Even there are T2 weapons early in map 1 that can help overcome the long journey in map 1. Many areas are explorable & most hints are clear enough. There's only one hint that gives misinformation in map 1. It's during alarm event. Survivors say something like turning of the alarm but in fact it's an escape event to the saferoom.

In short, this campaign is good to play with bots or other people, as the difficulty is balanced.

One of Cool "Let's Build" Campaigns to Enjoy

Played this campaign several times since the old version, & I could still enjoy it. This "Let's Build" campaign is special, as unlike the "Let's Build" campaigns in general that only have one map, this one has 4 maps & all are about collecting construction items & then constructing the base camp. The construction items are spawned randomly in each play, so it has good replayability. So far I found no serious issue on bot navigation exceppt on the marked places that trigger cutscene to end a map, as bots need to be pushed into the marked places (this bug also exists in the old version). Supplies are enough even from map 1. Although hints are not provided when exploring outdoor, there are hints like memo inside the base camp so reading the memo should give the grasp about the objectives. There's a bug in the last map that instantly clears the map even before the lamp is installed, but as this bug doesn't affect the game much so probably it's no big deal. Btw I put some screenshots about the bugs to help figure out where the bugs happen.

So in short, this campaign is worth played with bots or friends. If you want to experience different things about building stuffs when playing this game, this campaign is good to try.

Good campaign about town reference for collection

Got the time to update the review based on the new update. I finished this campaign in about 1 hour & 30 minutes as I usually explored the areas for awhile. So far, It's enjoyable, with some finding keys features that actually are not that hard, as long as players search the keys carefully. Some areas have random path generators, so the routes can change sometimes. The supplies are somehow enough. Bot navigation is good in overalls, but I'll point some locations that bots might have problems later. & It's kind of great to see a campaign based on a reference of certain town as I also want to collect this kind of campaign. In the old times, there were Yama, Warcelona & some Chinese towns, & now Buenos Aires. There are also some custom skins for common zombies. There are also some custom melee weapons, but I always carried the custom kitchen knife during my play twice as I always preferred sharp melee weapons.

I think I'll also give some some pros & cons about this campaign in several points, to make it easier to read in case if the detailed review per map below is too long to read.
PROS:
(+) Reference about the town Buenos Aires
(+) Custom melee weapons are added
(+) There are custom zombie skins like soccer fans & some policemen.
(+) Randomized paths on some areas, so each play may give different experiences of exploration.
(+) Supplies are enough, but many of them are scattered so players need to explore to look for supplies.
(+) Bot navigation is good in overalls (few bugs will be explained in Cons section).
(+) Key-finding objectives on some maps. The difficulty is normal & not complicated so normal player should be able to solve them.
(+) The highlights on objects are clear.
(+) Relaxing Spanish song at certain areas.
(+) There are various events packed in one campaign, like alarmed ambulance car, holdout, scavenge & escape events. The scavenge event also adapts to game mode so if played in Singleplayer, the amount of gascans is reduced.
(+) Some mysteries/ easter eggs. I don't know how many, but there's one I found near the first house of map 1. It's a box with a password. But I still can't figure out the password. Probably it lies somewhere on that map.
CONS:
(-) About bot navigation bugs, there are some bugs. The first one is on map 2 in the beginning. If a player jumps above the cars & climb the bus/ truck & then walks on it, bots can't follow the player, but they have good navigation when walking on the ground. The second bug is on map 2 during climbing down to the sewer. There's a quite high chance that one bot is too confused to climb down & stay on the surface for long time until he finally climbs down or gets teleported back to the team. The 3rd navigation bug is on the finale, near the tower where smoker usually climbs & hangs a survivor with his tongue from there. There's a car nearby to take cover, but when a survivor gets hanged by a smoker near the car, bots seem confused & can't shove the tongue until the survivor is incapacitated or dead as if the car bugs their navigation..
(-) Some events lack cutscenes. For example, map 3 when the train is crashed & derailed, it would be better to have a 3rd view cutscene about how the train finally crashes & gets derailed instead of just putting fade-to-black screen. Also on map 3, after finishing the scavenge, it would be cooler to have a cutscene about the car speeding up through some zombies (like the official "Dead Center" finale, but you could make it in Buenos Aires version) & barricade before entering the transition screen, because when arriving on the finale, suddenly survivors just stand somewhere. Then at the end of the finale during rescue cutscene, it would be cooler if the camera can view in bird view & show the surrounding areas from above, or just show the scenery of Buenos Aires.during the departure of the boat.
(-) Certain events probably lack hints. On map 2 about the alarmed ambulance car, players who play for the first time might get confused about what to do for few minutes during endless panic events of the alarm. On map 3 during holdout event about waiting until the operator (church guy) opens the control room with elevator switch, there's no hint whether players have to defend or do something about the highlighted objects (though just waiting until the highlighted objects turn off by themselves is also fine, as the Spanish song is kind of relaxing). Probably it would be helpful to give some hints like "Alternatively, shoot the speakers to stop the song early".
(-) Some areas lack special infected. Probably it's intended/ on purpose, like on map 3 during hold out event to wait until the operator opens the door to access the elevator switch, there are only common zombies & very few special infected. Then map 3 after going up with elevator, there's no special infected coming at least until the train crashes.

Well, for the review per map, let's start from map 1. Map 1 starts in a house with some supplies. The primary weapons are scattered somewhere so survivors need to explore for awhile. There's an objective in the beginning of map 1, to find a key. The location is somehow randomized as I found the key at 2 different location on 2 play tests. Map 1 is still a kind of warming up as survivors only need to move forward & look for the paths that are also randomized at certain location, but they go to the same direction.

The challenge starts from map 2. After walking through streets for awhile, there's a special key-finding event. It looks like this event needs something like pop-up hint/ objective, because on my first play, I had no idea about what to do for few minutes during panic events, as the ambulance's door was kind of locked. The objective is actually simple. After that, survivors only need to follow the paths to the sewer. The paths at the sewer are randomized so sometimes the route changes.

Map 3 has several challenges. One of them is the event about the church guy, but that one probably also needs some hints. On my 1st play, I saw some glowing objects with red glow on on high places, & at first time I thought I had to use elevaor or stairs to go there, but both stairs & elevator were blocked. So I kept walking around while fighting horde till suddenly the glowing objects disappeared on their own, & the church guy opened the door. On 2nd play, I decided to shoot the glowing objects, & somehow the glows turned off one by one & the church guy opened the door faster than the 1st play. The next one is when the train is derailed. It seems that the bot navigation when entering the train has been fixed (in previous version, one or some still stay outside the train until players push them in). Btw, I still have no idea how the train gets derailed as the screen goes to black for few seconds when that happens. Actually I expected something like 3rd person view of the cutscene to see how the train was derailed. Sometimes tank challenges the survivors after the trains are derailed. I got the challenge on my 1st play, but no challenge on 2nd play. The real challenge happens during scavenge event. In the new update, in Singleplayer, the amount of gas cans is reduced so it's kind of helpful & the difficulty is balanced with the reduced amount of gascans for Singleplayer. For Multiplayer/ Coop, the amount of gascans is still like the original. The horde & special infected here are quite aggressive so players need to figure out the safest route to deliver the gascans..

Then, the finale is an escape finale, but with random generator on the first gate & road junctions leading to one way. There's an instant-death river on the left, so beware of chargers. The tank here is kind of tricky, & there's a chance that some troll players would take advantage by making the rushing players as tank's baits, because once a survivor reaches certain location, the path on the back will be blocked (players behind the blocked path can still climb up & proceed, but those in front of the blocked path will have no choice but to fight the tank. Probably it needs something to avoid trolling/ trapping teammates, like all survivors must enter/ pass the location in order to trigger the tank). & about the rescue boat, I think there's nothing wrong. I read a previous comment about survivors suddenly falling into water after cutscenes & then dying, but that didn't happen to my play 2 times. I only found one bot having difficulty in climbing the boat as he's stuck near the ladder (he was Louis).

So far, it's a good campaign. The puzzles are simple & way easier than puzzles in Resident Evil campaigns, so I think normal players can also solve them sooner or later. It would be cool if players can also choose the day (like daytime/ nighttime) by pressing something like a switch, or using the bed in the first house to trigger daytime (like choosing to sleep= daytime; while proceed without sleeping= nighttime), as I think the views would also look beautiful when playing on daytime. Well, I look forward to the next updates.

Another scary themed campaign for collection

I tested twice & kind of enjoyed this campaign. Though the campaign is dark like Silent Hill or Resident Evil, this one is still playable & enjoyable. The plot is similar to "Hard Rain", as survivors need to get into lab & then go back outside. So far, most things are good. The bot navigation is fine. The hints & the glows on objects are also clear. Supplies are also enough, especially on areas where there's a tank challenge. The tank has reduced health so it's still beatable. Probably only map 1 has a bug. Somehow, in the beginning of map 1, one survivor always spawns at a very far location while the other 3 are in a room with supplies. Luckily on my tests twice, it wasn't me who spawned at a very far place.

Well, as this is still a beta version, I look forward to the next updates. I'll update the review later when more new things come on the next updates. Probably, adding more key finding events or puzzles like the previous campaigns "Unholy Ground", "Beyond Dead", Forgotten Place" etc would be good too.

Enjoyable, though the finale is a little lonely

Tested twice, & this campaign is enjoyable. Bot navigation is good at most areas. Supplies are enough. The survivor zombies also help a lot in providing some supplies. The directions & instructions are clear. There are some bugs including the finale, but I'll explain later.

Map 1 takes place at village at night. There are some explorable buildings to look for supplies. At the first spawn, survivors have no primary weapons so they need to search every building.

Map 2 has similar sensation like certain areas in "The Parish" campaign, but with different taste of adventure. There are many building & doors, but unfortunately most doors are inaccessible. Probably it would be more fun if there are more accessable buildings.

Map 3 has several bridge events. The bridge events are like the finale of "The Parish". Some areas remind me of "Cold Stream" campaign. There's a "fixed" challenge here somewhere. Make sure to listen to the music.

Map 4 is also about exploring through building, fortress & down the hill. There's a holdout event that I think it's kind of fun. The holdout event is at a fortress with a howitzer, but the fun is the howitzer. If you're lucky when shooting it, you can see something fun :D .

Then, the finale is actually interesting, but there are some bugs needed to fix. The finale works, but the mob spawn is still less frequent. For example, when going up the stairs to the hallways, there are less zombies coming to chase survivors. Special infected sometimes come late. But the helicopter on the new version is fixed & now works properly, & the propellers rotate properly too. The stats on credit screen also works now

Well, in short, this campaign is playable from the beginning to the finale. It's a good one to enjoy playing with bots or other players.

Another favourite campaign next to the old Silent Hill

Actually I ever tested the old one when there were no map 2,3 & 4, so I kind of knew the paths on most maps. But this campaign is kind of enjoyable to play again & again. & this new version made me feel like, "Oh man, this hellish environments bring me back to the old Silent Hill campaign I love.". Though the difficulty is still easier, this campaign gives similar sensations like when playing horror-themed campaigns like RE or Silent Hill. There are also objectives to collect items like other horror-themed campaigns.

As this is a long campaign, I'll give an overview instead. This campaign takes place in woods, countryside, caves, streets, playground & inside buildings. Bot navigation is fine, but sometimes they'll fall into deadly pits or liquids if players walk too close. The supplies are enough, though it's a little difficult to find better guns on early maps. But there's a secret item on map 1 that can unlock a secret door with Tier 2 weapons. There are some challenges with a tank, but the tank's health is lower than usual & the places are quite wide so that's no problem. The street area really reminds me of Silent Hill, with the thick fog & exploration through street & buildings to find the paths. Most items have glow on them so they're not difficult to find.

There are only 2 mysteries that I haven't solved yet, the 9th map, & the tank's bait on the 8th map. I can just guess that map 9 is a bonus map when completing a side quest on a map before entering a building. I didn't collect all the items on that map so, I missed the bonus map. I tested to go directly to that map, & it's about a cheese-like maze map. & another mystery is the tank's bait on map 8. I put it on the correct place, but there's nothing happening, so I just started the finale & finished the game.

In short, it's a great horror-themed campaign for collection. The item-finding objectives here are still not difficult to find, as the areas are not too wide to collect them. I hope that there will be more campaigns like this in the future.

Good one, but it would be better to make it as a normal campaign

Tested this campaign several times to figure out few things. Actually this campaign is unique, as it's still kind of rare to see custom campaigns with melee weapons as the mechanism to open the paths or turn on the switches that can't be opened by any kind of attacks except melee weapon. Even certain blockades can only be removed only with specific melee weapons. Few old custom campaigns did this kind of feature, like "Back To School" at the movie theater, "Fall In Death", but not on all of the maps. This campaign uses this mechanism on all of the maps, so bringing melee weapon is a must in this campaign. & now on the new version, zombies spawn normally so it's not lonely anymore when trying to solve some puzzles with melee weapons.

The bot navigation is actually fine. Even there's a feature about L4D1 survivor support just like in "The Passing". campaign. Some highlighted melee icons on some objects to use melee weapon on are helpful enough to figure out where to smash the melee weapon at, but some places has no highlight so players need to think & figure out on their own. As this is a forced "Bleed Out" campaign, probably players need to restart few times to figure out where to go & what to do if they can't figure out where to go, but once they remember the objectives of each map, they can clear the map fast enough. Some objects have glow so that can help players find something they need. The supplies of pill seem enough, & survivors get pumpshotgun & magnum pistol in the beginning of map. However, somehow it lacks grenade supplies on map 1 & 2.

Map 1 is about figuring out where to go out from the closed room. There's a hidden melee weapon. As long as players know where to find the melee weapons & where to use, there's no problem. Some objects are highlighted to help players find something. There's a challenge here when survivors have to defend the escorting L4D1 survivor when he is trying to find a way out. The challenge depends on the mode the players is playing. If they play normal coop with the forced "Bleed Out" mode, they have normal challenge, but if they use mutation to play this map, they have a different challenge. But I won't tell the different challenge on mutation mode. There are some clues about certain traps. but they are visible traps so players can anticipate them if the observe the clues & move carefully enough.

Map 2 starts in a cave. Like map 1, players need to collect the melee weapons to open the blocked paths. If they can clear map 1, map 2 would not be difficult enough to clear either. There's a challenge near the end of the map. & remember to pick the melee weapons there, as map 3 still needs melee weapons.

Then, the finale is an escape finale, with some objectives to do. The objectives are easy to figure out as there are glows on the objects. There's a tank challenge in the mid way, but the place is good enough to run backward while shooting so it should be no problem. The paths are clear enough, so as long as players follow the paths & still carry a melee weapon, they can head to the rescue location. The L4D1 survivors are also there to do some cover fires near the rescue location.

In overalls, this campaign is a good campaign with simple puzzles. It's easier than the "Witch House" by the same author. If players want to play safely, they can trigger another mutation to deactivate the forced "Bleed Out" mutation. For example, using "Gib Fest" mutation will enable the "Gib Fest" instead. The forced "Bleed Out" mode on the new version is still playable somehow, as there are more pill supplies. Btw, sometimes bug of missing melee weapon still happens on map 1 on baseball bat, though it's now rare to happens compared to the previous version. On my 4 tries on map 1, I couldn't find the baseball bat once. Probably, there might be some solutions that could fix this thing permanently. If it's possible, maybe it can use the mechanisms to trigger the melee spawn, like for example, when pressing the switch on the control room, not only it opens the locked door but it also spawns the melee weapon randomly in that area.

Good mini campaign for puzzle lovers with higher puzzle difficulty

Hmmmm, I finished it in 48 minutes. I was right to choose easy mode (without time limit), as I'm not good enough at solving puzzles fast. & I was kind of relieved that the puzzles were not as difficult as the old "Silent Hill" campaign. & I found the last lever by luck, just by smashing things with my fireaxe & it hit something. The only threat here is the shadow tank. The place is too narrow to run from the tank. Luckily, the shadow tank targeted some bots so I just escaped back to the garage. There are some traps, but they are not difficult to avoid. The trap level is still playable in normal way, & there are no troll traps. This campaign focuses on puzzles, so there's no zombie except one common behind a cell & a shadow tank.

The only drawbacks here are the lack of clues & the shadow tank pursuit in a narrow place. Some items don't glow. I still have no idea how the nail-like items work. I just collected them & put on a certain place without knowing the function.

In short, it's a good mini campaign about puzzles. Anyone who wants to test the puzzle-solving skill or just try to experience solving puzzles can try this one. The puzzle difficulty is easier than the old Silent Hill campaign, but not easy enough to solve just by walking around. As long as you observe anything around you carefully, you can finish the campaign. For the normal & hard modes of this campaign, maybe other people who love challenge can try, as I'm not a good at solving puzzles under pressure of time limit because I usually play in slow pace.

Good post-apocalyptic campaign to play with bots or friends

Tested this campaign, & finished in about 50 minutes. As explained on the description, setting the graphic quality to low will cause the game to crash during loading. Somehow setting the quality to medium fixes the crash. This campaign takes place in post-apocalyptic era at abandoned ruins. Bot navigation is fine, & supplies are enough but players need to explore the maps to get the scattered supplies. The instructions & directions are clear. There's a unique mechanism in the saferoom near at the end of every map as the replacement of the saferoom door.

Map 1 is about exploring ruins. In the beginning, the paths seem confusing a little, but as players adapt to the map for awhile, they can find the paths with no problem.

Map 2 is exploration in the underground. There are some switches to open the locked doors. Though it's really dark, the paths are clear. Sometimes there's a crash problem in the beginning of map 2 (I tested twice & got crashed once when I was about to enter a room after crossing to the other side. Probably just a random crash.

Map 3 is a long exploration through ruins. It's really wide & explorable. There are multiple routes leading to one path in the end, from above & ground. It's better not to run randomly here, as players can get lost easily. Supplies are also scattered here so players need to explore to get the supplies.

Then, the finale is holdout event near the tent. Before starting the finale, survivors need to take a walk for awhile through a cliff with a kind of radiation below the cliff. It's a charger's playground, so beware of charger. The location of the holdout finale is free of choice. Even players can run back to the cliff, or even further if they want. However, the zombie spawn locations seem predictable. If players know where the zombies will come from, they just need to camp & aim at one spot. Probably it would be more challenging & fun if zombie spawn locations are randomized, if possible. The rescue location is kind of tricky, but not difficult to find. During my play, I got a bad feeling during rescue time, as I thought the rescue location would be on top of a building without a wall that a charger almost pushed me down to the ground during journey to the tent, but fortunately that wasn't the rescue location.

So far, there's no serious problem in this campaign except the random crash on map 2. Probably adding some escape events would make the campaign more fun. Like for example, suddenly there's an explosion at certain area near the saferoom so survivors need to run to the saferoom, or there's a blocked path so survivors needs to collect some explosives, & then after destroying the blockade, survivors run to the saferoom with some survivors yelling "Run!!" & zombies start chasing from behind. Btw I still wonder why the c4 event on map 2 was removed. I didn't have a chance to try the previous version so I have no idea about how fun that event was.

Anyway, it's one of good post-apocalyptic campaigns to enjoy. It's playable with bots & with other players.

It feels like going back to medieval era

This campaign feels like going back to medieval era with medieval buildings. Bot navigation is fine & directions are clear. Supplies are enough. The finale has a kind of unique rescue unit.

Map 1 has no problem. Survivors only need to explore some medieval buildings & go through the woods. The wood section would be better if it's explorable, either just for special infected or all. On my test on the new version, the special infected could only appear & walk to the path. It would be more challenging if they can ambush from the wood. Then, the raft event at the end of the map is kind of challenging. There's ammo piles on the raft so players don't have to worry about running out of ammo during raft event. & beware of smoker & charger.

Map 2 on the new version has more explorable rooms. For the doors of the explorable rooms, I think it would be better to use the medieval textures on the doors (if possible) or medieval doors just like the other closed doors. There's an event at the end of the map, but no need to worry as the area is wide enough & there are many places to camp during event.

Map 3 is also about exploring medieval buildings & areas. Probably map 3 needs some events, as survivors just need to go forward & follow the paths. Probably, if possible or there are some textures about trebuchet or medieval artillery or cannon, it would be more fun to add an event about destroying a big wooden door with medieval weapons, just like in movies about kingdom wars. The destroyed door makes a loud sound so either survivors have to run to the saferoom or defend until the panic events end. Some objectives about collecting the trebuchet ammo before launching the attack would be good too.

Map 4 is straight to the finale event. It's a holdout finale just like the first version. The new version now has glow on the rescue unit so players can figure out where the rescue point is. There are some good place to camp here. Unfortunately, most buildings are inaccessible so most camping areas are outdoor.

In short, this campaign is a good one to play alone or with friends while enjoying the medieval settings. Some places still have potentials to be improved with more explorable areas or events, as medieval theme usually has lots of mysteries like secret switches, secret rooms etc & the author can implement those in this campaign if he wants. Well, I look forward to the next updates.

A good campaign with aggressive horde if played without the linked content

This campaign, though it's not listed on the tags, is a 4-map campaign. It's actually also playable without using the linked content. I tested without that one because I usually play without mutation mode, & with only bot mods I have. There are several problems to check, but I'll explain them on the paragraphs below. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but the supplies are scarce, especially the throwables. I only got 2 pipe bombs & some molotov, but no bile bomb before map 4. Bot navigation has some problems, but in overalls they're good. There's no glow on gascans during scavenge event & some switches (though I had no problem in finding them). There are some hints provided, but some still lack hints especially the finale. There are also ping spikes on map 1 & 4.

Map 1 takes places at barn. There are some cutscenes giving hints about what to do. However, there's a bug I found here. There's a custom zombie in a barn that trigger a cutscene, but if that zombie dies before players kill him, the map can't be finished. The throwable supplies are scarce, so it's better not to preserve the bombs. Somehow the ping spike on this map is high, like 3-4 times higher. I compared to official campaigns & other custom campaigns, but this map got much higher ping spike. Because of that, I relied heavily on my merciless bots to detect & kill zombies at the most areas.

Map 2 takes place at a cemetery. It reminds about certain areas of Death Toll official campaign. There's also the "ding-dong" guy hiding behind a saferoom at the end of the map :D . The holdout event at the end of map takes longer than usual, & there are endless panic events + special infected. The special infected spawn time is faster than usual, so it could be hell for those not used to such thing. There are some good spots to defend during waiting for the "ding-dong" guy to finish.

Map 3 has a unique feature about riding an armored vehicle. The main event here is scavenge event, but it's a rather difficult one because of the endless panic events + fast special infected spawn time. The zombies also come from all directions, & even they already gather around the survivors during a cutscene (though survivors are protected by invisible walls during the cutscene). The lacks of glow on the gascans & where to fill also make the scavenge event harder, though the gascan location is easy to find. There are some bugs after filling up the gas, when playing with bots. Bots are too lazy to reenter the car, so they basically slow players down. Probably it's needed to put some commands to make bots gather/ teleport when a player enters the vehicle. Sometimes bots just die suddenly when the vehicle is moving (I don't know if the road is an instant-death environment or not, as in my play I didn't get out of vehicle, knowing that some bots suddenly died).

Then, the finale is a long one in a cave. This map seems familiar. Just as explained by other reviewer, certain mashup campaigns also use this map as a reference, but with different key mechanisms & length of map. For those who ever played the mashup campaigns, they'll have no problem in finding the ways to the key items. On this map, the population changes. There are lots of hazmat guys here, so there are tons of bile bombs dropped. The finale is somehow lonely (or no finale?). Survivors just need to collect all key items & then go to the rescue point. The helicopter has similar bug as the vehicle on map 3 does. Bots are too lazy to enter, so players need to push them one by one.

In short, it's playable without the linked content & with bots or with other players, though there are unknown lag spikes on map 1 & 4. However, the difficulty is kind of higher, like it's kind of hard to beat the scavenge event on map 3 in Expert mode. Probably more throwable supplies especially bile bombs are needed to balance the difficulty. Despite being playable with bots, it's recommended to play with other players, as the endless panic events on certain maps here are more aggressive than usual. The original bots (the ones with slow reactions) are more likely to die first, during aggressive panic events + fast special infected spawn time. Well, at least those are what will happen if played without the linked content.

A well-made first custom campaign

Played this campaign 3 times, & finished in about one hour on average because I often explored areas for awhile to look for supplies & throwables while enjoying the walk. Though the author said that this was the first custom campaign made, this campaign is really polished well. Bot navigation is fine, & supplies are enough on every map. The highlights and the directions are clear. There are explorable rooms on every map.

Map 1 has some familiar feelings like the combination of The Parish & The Passing in the beginning, but in night time. It's about exploration through back alleys & buildings. What needs to be cautious of is tank. Sometimes tank spawns inside the burning house. In my play 3 times, 1 of them had tank spawned near the fire on the lower floor, so it's a death trap because once survivors jumped on the lower floor, they couldn't climb up again.

On map 2, survivors go through back alleys & river to get inside building. The challenging parts happen during walking through river & waiting for the elevator. It's quite dark at the river & zombies can come from anywhere. The holdout event during waiting for the elevator has some good spots to camp.

Map 3 is about passing through the back alleys & streets. Though there are some explorable rooms, the paths are clear. The challenging moment happens during a holdout event in the car showroom. There are many good spots to defend. Even survivors can run back to the previous areas if they want. Well, probably this part needs to be edited, like, limiting how far survivors can go back. Maybe the garage doors suddenly close when pressing the switch to open the door in the car showroom, so that survivors have no choice but to defend in that room.

Map 4 is like a break time to relax for awhile before facing the finale. It's only about walking through buildings & streets leading to the shore. Some areas take place in a hospital. Charger loves the narrow hallways in the hospital, so beware of charger's ambush. There are quite many explorable rooms to check for supplies.

Then, the finale is kind of unique one. It's an escape finale, but with several holdout events. It's really challenging because zombies often spread to attack survivors at the shore. Sometimes the battle happens inside buildings at narrow hallways, so, melee weapons are recommended here. Every holdout event has one tank challenging in the end.

In short, playing this custom campaign feels like playing the official campaigns (probably even better than official campaigns). The difficulty is measured well, so it's also playable in Expert mode, with bots or other players. It's one of great campaigns to add to collection.

Enjoyable small campaign

This campaign actually has 4 maps. The tag has wrong number of maps, probably will be fixed later by the author. It's a kind of enjoyable campaign. Just like the title, it's a long night to pass. Bot navigation is good & supplies are enough. Even there are several vomitjars on each area. The directions & hints are clear, but somehow the finale has similar problem to the prequel, but I'll explain that later. Zombie spawn locations are somehow intriguing & unpredictable as they can also jump from the top of buildings, & that makes the play more challenging.

Map 1 is about exploration through bridge & cliffs. The bridge reminds me of either The Parish or Crash Course, a good spot for charger to push one or some survivors out of the bridge. The paths are clear so survivors just need to follow the trails.

There are another bridge & cliffs on map 2. Sometimes tank is spawned on the bridge, but there's enough space to run back so it's no problem.
.
Map 3 has the sensation of mixed explorations between the road of No Mercy and Parish, the rooms inside the hospital & the exploration on the rooftop. The paths are clear. Somehow there are less rooms for hiding from horde during walking on road, so walls are the only options to protect from the attack from behind, though zombies can also jump from the top of building.

The finale is kind of fun. It's a concert on the rooftop. However, it's kind of open area with very few places to camp as there's no accessible room at all. The best location to camp is probably the stage itself, as there are enough supplies. But one charge from a charger could bring a survivor down to the bottom of the building or in other words, an instant death. There are some problems here similar to the prequel. When pressing the switch to start the concert, there's no hint whether the finale is started or not, but actually it's started. The Midnight Rider songs somehow aren't timed well so tank theme may override when one of the songs is still playing. Second song is played after quite long silence. There's no sign about when the rescue unit arrives, so probably it's better to add a notification about the arrival of the rescue unit like usual (though survivors can see the rescue unit from the stage).

In short, this campaign playable with bots & players. I kind of like how the zombie spawn locations are made unpredictable during panic even & even they jump from the top of buildings & cliffs. Good job in making the campaign, & I hope that the problems on the finale can be fixed later.

Playable, but map 2 and 3 has extreme difficulty even in Normal mode

This campaign works till the end. However, there are endless panic events on map 1 & map 2 that other players might find them difficult. There are many bile bombs, & there are some ceda zombies too, so the bile bombs can be used for distraction. Unfortunately this campaign lacks good weapons on map 1 & map 2. The directions & highlights are clear.

What makes it difficult is the more frequent special infected respawn interval. That happens on map 2 & map 3. The hardest part on map 2 is when survivors are in watery maze with endless horde & faster special infected respawn time. & for map 3 the mini finale with the objective to press switches to open the gate can be difficult. There are many explosive barrels around & there are some forklifts that can fly when a tank smashes them. It's safer to destroy all explosive barrels first before starting the mini finale so that it will be less risky when shooting while running. Then prepare to fight with tank several times (like 3 times). But that mini finale is not the end. After that, survivors have to cross small bridges with chargers & smokers as the most frequent special infected spawned. I died once because a charger took me down to the pit when I was crossing the small bridge.

Unfortunately, this campaign isn't ended well. Survivors enter saferoom, the transition screen appears, & then the screen is frozen & players just stand & can't look around. This happens because there's no next map when the script triggers the "changelevel". & it's kind of impossible to wait for the release of the last map, because the author has been long inactive.

So, in short, if you just want to feel the challenges on map 2 & 3, you can try to play this campaign. It's not recommended to play in Expert difficulty, because map 2 & 3 are really difficult in Expert. But if you love challenges in Expert, go ahead & try it.

Good short campaign to enjoy

Well, the title is Beginner's Luck, but I think the author here has more than just luck. The campaign, although it's rather short, is well made. There's no bot navigation error. Some areas are low on grenade supplies, & map 1 lacks first aid kits. The directions & hints are clear.

Map 1 is about exploring some building to reach the maze garden. There are some witches roaming around. Special infected gets more benefits in the maze.
.
Map 2 has sewer part. There is an alarm door event near the end of the map, & survivors need to run all the way to the saferoom. Beware of witch, & small/ crouching special infected, as they can hide in the water & suddenly jump on you.
.
The finale is kind of short. It's a holdout finale, but quite challenging. There are some good place to camp. The challenging part happens after the 2nd tank is dead. The rescue time takes a little longer than usual, so, at least survivors will face 1-2 more tanks during waiting the rescue unit to arrive. Sometimes if players go to the store's roof, bots will stay there waiting for the rescue unit. When that happens, they become easy targets to special infected & tank. So, you have no choice but to let the special infected & tank punch them while covering them with fire from safe places.

In short, it's a good short campaign to enjoy.

Man, this mod makes the witch even scarier... Simple but cool :D

One of challenging old campaigns with puzzles that I love

I've played this several times & it's still fun to play, at least for those who love solving puzzles. Though there's a new version updated by someone, I still prefer this version as this brings some fun past memories and the puzzles are still doable with reasonable difficulties. I still remember that I had to stop the play & repeat again another day when I got stuck & had no idea of where to go on certain maps, like map 3 & 5. I did some backtracks for minutes to look for keys on map 4 & 6. But all of them gave great satisfaction when finally after learning the puzzles, I started from beginning & could clear this campaign in one go, in about 1 hour & 30 minutes. I hope that there are more campaigns with puzzles like this in the future.

Kind of long journey but fun campaign, with some escape events

I took about 1 hour & 20 minutes because I tried to solve the puzzle on map 3 first although I already failed. I'll explain the puzzle later (edit: I can't solve the puzzle, & even this is much harder than RE or Silent Hill puzzles. New record for the hardest puzzle in L4D2 in my opinion, I guess). This campaign is good, but some areas put survivors under pressure, like having a kind of countdown. Bot navigation is fine though. Supplies are good, though in the beginning of map 1, survivors need to walk for awhile to get primary weapons. Directions are good, though some areas are still confusing & need more thorough observation to figure out where to go.

Map 1 is still a warming up. Survivors only need to follow the paths & do the highlighted objectives. However, there's a bugged place on the river near the ladder leading to the surface. There's a deep area where survivors will get stuck in the water & can't get out unless using noclip. So, just watch your steps near the ladder.

Map 2 is the introduction of under-pressure events. Survivors mostly go through burning houses. Though there are directional arrows inside the burning houses, the paths are still rather confusing. In my play, I just moved slowly while looking around every few seconds to look for the arrows. There's a place with a gas leak, but I don't know what will happen if the gas pipe gets shot by accident, because in my case, I played safe not to shoot carelessly in the burning houses. The under-pressure event happens near the end of the map. There's a hint to run, & survivors keep yelling, while the fire is chasing behind. I also don't know what will happen if the fire chasing behind hits the survivors, as I also played safe by keeping running after looking back few times.

Map 3 has an annoying puzzle trap. Survivors are given a time limit like 4 minutes to solve the puzzle. There are 6 buttons including the confirmation button to open the gate. Each button except the confirmation button has a special infected painting on the wall or floor. I failed to figure out so the trap came out: a tank. Even after failing, the button still worked so I tested until I figured out the code. Actually there's a hint about special infected, but players may still be confused, because it's not only about special infected. More exactly, it's about the order of special infected, from the small to big number. However, as far as I know, the order of special infected is random on each play, so literally it's kind of pure luck to solve the puzzle in one play. So, it's better just to camp somewhere safe until the time's out, rather than get frustrated in solving the puzzle, because even the hints come rather late, like when almost 1 minute is wasted, & by the time the last hint appears, you'll only have less than 2 minutes to solve.

Map 4 is very long journey from the road with many cars to a factory. There are some flying car traps, but there's a warning so they're avoidable. There are also paths that the flying cars can't reach. The main event takes place in front of the called elevator. While waiting the elevator, a tank will come one by one for 2 waves after the normal incoming waves.

Map 5 is kind of unexpected. Survivors are inside the spaceship!! The objective is simply to open a door leading to escape location, but during waiting the door to open, there's a holdout event. After the door opens, there's the last under-pressure event. The spaceship somehow is about to explode, so survivors need to keep running. The warning pops up again near the end of the map where the escape plane is. There's a tank guarding the escape plane. I don't know what will happen when the time runs out, because in my play I just baited the tank around & then got into the plane with the bots.

In short, it's a long but playable campaign, with a puzzle & some under-pressure events. Just ignore the puzzle on map 3, ok, & just see it as a normal holdout event. Good to play with bots or friends.

Long journey but fun

Tested this, & it's a long but enjoyable journey. There's no crash at all during my play twice. Bot navigation is fine. Supplies are enough, & even there are good weapon in the beginning of map 1. Highlights & directions are clear enough, though some areas have tricky paths hidden at the corner.

Map 1 is about exploring through buildings. Probably on 1st play, some players will feel confused for awhile when looking for the paths after the labyrinth garden, but if they search more thoroughly, they'll find the way. There are some explorable rooms here.

Map 2 takes place at subway. There are some abandoned trains & tunnels to pass. Some paths are also little tricky but they're not that confusing to find.
.
Map 3 is inside a closed mall. The paths here are also clear. There's a room with weapons & melee weapons. Some areas are explorable, including the area near the holdout event during waiting the blocked path to be opened, so there are some good spots to camp during the event. On this map, there's a tricky ladder that hidden somewhere. It took me several times to explore slowly until I found a way to climb up, the hidden ladder.

Map 4 has no problem either. The only tricky path is when survivors go down to the road & look for a way to go through the blocked path. I got stuck there for minutes...until I let my bots walk on their own & they found the path only in seconds. & it's a tricky ladder again that could be missed during roaming around.

Map 5 or the finale has the tricky rescue unit. The area is wide enough to get some good places to camp. After 2nd tank is dead, the rescue time is triggered. However, there's no indication of where the rescue unit will appear, at least until few seconds have passed. So in other words, one more additional tank will appear during waiting to figure out the rescue unit. But players can trick this out by exploring the area first before turning on the radio & switch, to predict where the rescue location may take place.

In short, it's a long but fun campaign, playable with bots or with other players. One of good old campaigns, I think. & there's still the next chapter of this campaign, but I'll review that one later when I have time again.

Another good campaign about puzzles & unique gnome features

Played this campaign, & cleared after one restart on the finale because of drowning :D . For those who have ever played "Death Island" campaign, they'll feel familiar with the mechanisms & the puzzles, & I'm pretty sure that they can clear this campaign without problem. Bot navigation here is good in overalls, & there's a feature on map 1 to prevent the bot's favourite move "jumping from the long ladder to death". The supplies are enough, or more than enough with the help of some gnomes. There's gnome feature here, & each gnome gives a different response. One hint is, not all gnomes are kind, so, listen to what they say. The directions are clear. Some items don't glow so players need to look carefully, but some lightings at certain areas help figure out where the items are. & this campaign can be played in Singleplayer, with more caution as bots can cause some unnecessary problems, like for example, shooting some witches by accident.

Map 1 is a kind of jockey's map. There are many jockey traps here, but they're still avoidable. This map has some objectives. Make sure to read the hints written on the wall first. There are some gnomes here that loves farting :D . From map 1, there are traps to punish rushing players. Rushing players will more likely got ridden by a jockey, because some sleeping jockeys can suddenly wake, or they can suddenly jump from the ventilations. Good weapons are provided in a room with a radio, along with other supplies

Map 2 has an interesting feature: riding a helicopter moving on the ground. After the fix, now bots can warp into the helicopter once players turn the engine on. It's kind of safer riding a helicopter than walking though, because there are witches wandering somewhere. This map is also perfect for special infected, because survivors walk on a road between hills & there are trees & bushes to ambush. There are some gnomes here that can give something, but remember the hint I mentioned above.

Map 3 is a trap-specialized map. The first gnome will show you about the clue. & rushing players will get some punishments here. There are traps that are only avoidable if players are cautious enough to look around. In my play, I had been cautious since the first gnome, so, I only stepped on one trap as I was caught off guard when running backward, a landmine. The damage was more than half of the full health, but I could still walk in normal pace. There's an abusable trap that has switches, so beware of troll players or those who love pressing a switch spontaneously. On map 3, prepare for some tank challenges, but they're still doable as the tank only comes one by one & the area is wide enough to shoot & run. The end of map 3 is kind of challenging. There are some tricks to avoid disadvantages though. I won't spoil about what's at the end of the map.

Then, the finale is a holdout finale, but with some puzzles in the beginning. The puzzles are not difficult as long as players read the instructions on the walls. The directional arrows are somehow tricky & at the same time helpful. I restarted once because of the arrows. The water looked shallow, so I tried to jump and..., well, you can figure out what happened afterwards :D . The last puzzle before starting the finale is kind of tricky because the last item doesn't glow so players can miss it easily. There are some good places to camp. The rescue unit doesn't glow either, so it's also tricky for players who play this map for the first time. The rescue unit is really surprising, so surprising that for a moment I was afraid to get in :D .

In short, it's a good campaign about puzzles & traps. The traps are still friendly & avoidable so it's still playable. It's good to see another campaign with puzzles after a long time, as I need campaigns like this to vary my play when I'm bored of linear or normal custom campaigns with normal mechanisms.

Short good campaign with a little confusing finale

I played this campaign because I felt like wanting to follow the stories, because, well, I skipped the chapters to "Frozen" & "Neverending War" last time. I never thought that I actually ever played this campaign, but in mashup versions. Only 2 of 3 maps were added to the mashup campaigns. The finale is also familiar, but with different rescue unit. I don't remember the exact names, but they have the word "Beginning" too. Those mashup campaigns are also good to play.

Anyway, about this campaign, it's kind of short but playable. Some routes are clear & supplies are enough. Bot navigation has no problem, & the hints are clear, except the finale. I'll explain the finale later.

Map 1 takes place at a ship. It's a really short map, because once survivors reach surface, they'll have a holdout event till the rescue unit comes. Helicopter on map 1 is a little tricky. If players just walk to it, they'll be hanging from the ledge as there's a little gap between the ship & the flying helicopter. So, they have to jump to it.

Map 2 doesn't have a complicated path, from a factory to an underground place. Somehow there's no special infected in the underground tunnel.

The finale is simple but complicated. What makes it complicated is the rescue unit. Everything goes fine, & there are many good places to camp. However, when the rescue time comes after 2nd tank is dead, there's no clue about where the rescue location is, & what the rescue unit is. In my play, I wandered few more minutes with like 2 more additional tanks until I figured out about the rescue unit. It's kind of funny as even nobody would never expect that vehicle was the rescue unit. When players trigger the finale by turning on a generator, there's a pickup truck nearby. Somehow when I ran pass that truck, suddenly I entered credit screen, lol :D . So I found it by luck.

So, as the conclusion, this campaign is short but good to play.

A cool campaign that can't be missed

I've played several times since the first release here, & I'm never bored at all. The difficulty of this campaign is well-balanced. Every map has a fun main event that is challenging but still doable as it only requires some good strategies & places to defend. The supplies are enough & bot navigation is fine. The hints on this latest version get better as now there's a hint on the jammed elevator on map 3 too. Somehow, I encountered crashes twice during main events on map 1 & map 3. The game froze when I was shooting zombies. But those are probably random crash problems, because when I repeated those map again, the crashes didn't happen. I don't know if it's related to the tons of corpses on map 3 or not, but somehow it's lagging a little when I walked pass the corpses (that's why I defended somewhere else during event).

Map 1 has a fun main event when defending in a post during waiting for the gate to open. There are some good places to camp, & some usable tools to explode & burn zombies during the holdout event. The custom background music during event makes it more enjoyable.

Map 2 has the maze tunnel event. I love it when there's a transition to the dark mode where the vision is very limited in the maze during waiting for the elevator. The special infected could be tricky during that time & ambush suddenly, like how charger suddenly charges at the visible range of survivor's vision.

Map 3 also has a main event about operating an elevator, but there are some objectives to do first. There are some good places to camp including the post near the tons of corpses. As now there's a hint on the jammed elevator, survivors don't need to do a leap of faith during climbing anymore. I still remember that in the old version, I felt doubtful either to wait on the elevator or jump & climb up as there had been electricity warning before while the elevator didn't move even after the panic event stopped. So I decided to take a leap of faith & thankfully that worked.

Map 4 has an easter egg room that I love the music, though the threat is really high. I wonder what the title of arabian-like music is. I usually prepare a molotov & then ran really far far away, because like 3 tanks were chasing us after I opened that room, but I wanted to enjoy the music so I opened the room anyway :D . The main challenging event is during defending near the big gates opening slowly. The area is very open, & zombies come from almost all directions. It requires some good tactics, at least until one gate is opened.

Then, the finale is a scavenge finale at a wide area. It's also an open area where zombies come from all directions, so it's a kind of challenging finale. A tank usually comes when survivors finish juggling the gascans from the house to the front of warehouse where the rescue vehicle is located. Melee weapons are needed here to quickly throw gascans & kill zombies that run closer fast.

In short, it's a great campaign that can't be missed. The adventure sensations on every map can be felt so it's kind of satisfying playing this campaign to the end. It's playable with bots or with other players. I'll keep this to play with friends later. Btw, for the author, could you tell me the title of the background music during the easter egg tank ambush on map 4? Looks like I start to like that one.

One of good chinese campaign, but I miss the old version

Well, I'll try to put my review based on the plays on the 3 versions of this campaign (this one uploaded by the author, the other one uploaded here, & the old version with 5 maps), just as comparisons to see what are improved & what are removed & go worse in order to make it easier for evaluation. This version is good in overalls, but there's a crash issue that's probably random to each player. In my case, my game crashed to desktop when I was defending on the finale, waiting for the first wave of tank to come. I camped around the container truck near the last generator to turn on, as that's one of good spots for me. I saw that someone else got crashed during running to the helicopter. Compared to the previous version uploaded here by someone else (with also 6 maps), the finale there had no crash even when I camped at the same spot, near the container. Probably this problem is new to this version, because in the previous version, this didn't exist. I still don't know what caused it. There might be new models/ materials causing the crash, or something else.

For the rest of the map, I'd try to compare to the old version with 5 maps, as there are some drastic differences. You can say that this version is the "tamed" version, compared to the old one. The panic event interval is less aggresive than the old one, so, this makes the campaign more playable even for beginners. More hints are added, so, even people who play a campaign with key finding features for the first time won't have hard time in finding them. However, this tamed version somehow loses some adrenaline-boosting moments & complicated key finding features that some people love, especially those people who play RE & Silent Hill campaigns. The special infected threats are greatly reduced, so players can be less cautious when running, but at the same time this loses the thrilling sensation when facing more frequent special infected respawn time. I still remember that in the old version with 5 maps, map 4 & 5 were the most challenging maps because the special infected respawn time was almost like "Hard Eight" mutation.

For key finding features, some keys with difficult locations to find are removed. Some other keys are placed to much easier spots to find (which at the same time loses the fun in exploring areas for the keys). For example, the key in the beginning of map 1 that previously was needed to open the weapon room & door to get the barrel is removed. The key inside the police station on map 2 is also removed. Then, key on map 5 before calling the tank is put at much easier spot that nobody should not miss. C4 on map 4 is removed & now it's just a normal escape mini finale like the Parish's bridge finale, though there are some switches to press first in order to open a door. Map 5 has a bug that didn't exist in the old version. The phone to call the tank always glows even after pressing it. & for new players, this could be dangerous because they don't know that each time they press the phone, one tank will spawn at the back alley behind the house. This can also be exploitable for troll players to troll their teammates by keeping pressing it so that they'll face tons of tanks ahead. The old version has the glow removed after pressing it once so players know if it already works.

About map optimization, I think there's no big problem as the first 5 maps can be played as smoothly as the old version with 5 maps. Only map 6 has a random crash problem (I suspected some new models or vtx related problems, because the crash looks like when I played a campaign with a custom skin tank but with only ".vtx", not ".dx90.vtx"). It's too bad that L4D2 doesn't provide any info about the crash when crashing to desktop except if it's about something like "no free edict".

Anyway, the tank here on certain maps are tricky. I heard tank's voice but no tank was spotted...until I figured out that a hunter kept walking toward us & was very hard to kill. I though it was a custom hunter for the first time, because I've ever seen a custom tank with more health in other chinese campaign. But I was wrong. That was the tank, lol... :D .

Well I hope that some crash problems can be fixed in the next updates. & I think I'll keep both versions, the old 5-map campaign & this one. I need that 5-map version to boost my adrenaline & enjoy my fun in exploring areas for keys.

Short but fun

I downloaded this campaign long time ago & forgot to leave a review. I played this several times because it's kind of fun to go on a journey in minecraft & mario worlds.The only problem is the bot navigation on map 2 near the saferoom. They usually fall to death when crossing the small bridges to the saferoom. Other than that, the supplies are enough & the hints are clear. Supplies are also good.

In overview, this campaign consists on some item finding missions on minecraft world & avoiding some traps & thrown rocks in Mario world. The box with "?" sign has something in it, & the method to open the box is the same as Mario game. The finale is about going back to the map 1 & defend there until the rescue unit arrives. There are some good spot to camp.

In short, it's good to play for fun. Don't worry about traps, as there's no deadly trap or frustrating trap.

A good campaign about escaping from prison

I finished this campaign in about 50 minutes while enjoying walking. This campaign gives some experiences about prison of zombies. Well, there are some custom campaigns introducing prison areas, but I think I ever ran around a wide prison yard only in this campaign. I enjoyed that part, as the zombies looked so small from afar during alarm event. Bot navigation does well in overalls here except the finale around the rescue unit, & the supplies are fine as even there are tier 2 weapons on map 1. Directions & highlights on items/ objects are also clear. There are some stories about the fate of L4D1 survivors during the escape attempt from the prison.

Map 1 is about exploring inside a prison. The paths here are clear, as survivors only need to follow the existing paths & press some buttons to open the blocked paths.

Map 2 has prison yard as the main area for battle. There's a maze sewer area, but the paths are still clear enough to pass. Make sure to take a look at the guide arrows as the arrows are clear enough pointing to where should go next.

Map 3 reminds me about "No Mercy" hospital on many parts, but it's still fun to play. There's a door locked with a code here, but the hint about where the code is located is clear as long as players pay attention to the guide arrows.

The finale is kind of confusing for awhile but it's fine. Probably some players would try to jump down first in the beginning of the map, as I also thought that way...until I observed more thoroughly & found the clue. The finale is an escape finale. The notification is tricky a little, but as long as players follow the guide arrows, they'll eventually find the way. There's one bot navigation bug when arriving at rescue location. Bots don't want to ride on the rescue unit, although the rescue will be triggered only by pushing them close to the rescue unit. The rescue unit doesn't glow, so players need to think of the possible rescue unit at the end of the map.

In short, it's a fun experience in escaping from a prison. It's enjoyable to play with bots or friends.

Playable, short but good campaign

After playing this campaign twice, I guess I'll give some words about this campaign. Despite being short, this campaign is enjoyable. There are random paths on certain maps that make the play more fun. Some areas are explorable. So far, there's no serious bot navigation problem. The guides & highlights are clear. Supplies are enough, but on map 1 players need to be patient go walk for awhile until they find primary weapons.

Map 1 has randomized paths, so each play will have a chance to go through different paths. Somehow it's rather short during the alarm door event. This map actually still has some potentials to be extended, as it's just too fast to go to the saferoom after the alarm door event.

Map 2 has a mini finale: scavenge event. I have some helpful suggestions about this. The scavenge finale is somehow too lonely & less challenging. Probably it would be more challenging if there are endless panic events during filling up the barrel, just like on the official campaign "Dead Center" finale where zombies keep chasing survivors during collecting the gascans. That way, the mini finale scavenge event would be more challenging, as there are also many places to camp during waiting the fire to get extinguished.

The finale is good. However, there are several things that probably need fixing in the next update. The first one is the zombie spawn. During my play twice, I figured out that if survivors run fast enough to the train, they won't face any zombies & special infected. Probably the zombie spawn locations need to be placed to the locations that will get survivors in the way during escape to the train, especially the special infected. The second one is the finale event. The finale event is shorter than the normal holdout finale. There's only one wave of tank, with 2 tanks coming. Normally there should be 2 waves of tank before the rescue time is triggered. Maybe you could extend it to 2 waves of tank in the next update. Then, the last thing to fix is an accessible but tricky path. I found an accessible area during holdout finale in the generator room. There's a window near the melee & pistol supplies on the boxes that players can jump over & go out of the window. But once they go out, they'll be trapped there so they need to restart the map. Maybe you can close that window area, so that players won't be able to jump & get trapped there.

Well, in short, it's an enjoyable short campaign that can be played with bots or friends. I actually agree with others about extending this campaign. This one still has potentials to be extended to 4 or 5 maps long. I'm looking forward to the next updates, especially when there are any updates about the extended maps.

Great explorable campaign with some comic strip effects added

I cleared in about 50 minutes while exploring & enjoying the walk. This campaign is enjoyable. Many areas are about countryside, & most maps are explorable. The maps are not long, but not short either, so players can enjoy the campaign without feeling it being too short or long. Bot navigation is fine, & the supplies are enough. The guides & highlights are clear as well. It's a good campaign to play either with bots or friends. It's a small but good campaign that can't be missed.

A good chinese campaign with key searching features and "hard eight" on finale events

I forgot how long I cleared this campaign, as I repeated several times on map 5 due to the confusing mechanism at the last part. I'll explain that later. This campaign is playable, but some areas are punishing. There's no cheap trap though. Bot navigation is good. There are hints & glows on items, but sometimes there's no clue of where to go. The supplies are kind of enough but some areas even don't have primary weapons.

Map 1 starts inside a building. There's no guide arrow here, so survivors have to take a bet. My advice is certain lower roof is a trap. Some zombies can stand & walk, but when a survivor jumps there, it's a instant death. There's an "invisible" ladder there, or maybe it can't be called as a ladder. Map 1 has the introduction of searching key mechanism. There's no primary along the way, & only grenades are the loots, until survivors arrive at a closed room with a hint about a key. Bots seem unable to pick as they like, so try to juggle the weapons for the bots if they don't pick any.

Map 2 is also about searching keys. Certain part has a long run event. Map 3 is also about searching keys & operating certain objects. Beware of the water on map 3, as it's an instant death too even if survivors walk on the shallow part.

Map 4 is a mini finale. It's started when survivors try to carry an impossible object in reality, a howitzer. Normally a person can't carry such heavy thing, but well, the survivor can :D . After placing the howitzer to the right place, the scavenge event starts but there's no zombie interferring on this part. The hard part starts after collecting all gascans & shooting the howitzer. Then the mini escape finale begins. The main objective is to go to a rescue car, but there are some mechanisms to do first. Always check for highlighted items. During this event, the special infected respawn interval goes faster, just like "Hard Eight" mutation, along with the endless horde. Early reminder, the car needs a key, so never go to the car before finding a key somewhere not far enough from the car location.

Then, map 5 or the finale is also kind of punishing. The finale is long & consists of severals parts: scavenge, holdout during opening a gate, & escape. Starting from the scavenge event, the panic events become endless & the special infected spawn interval gets faster. There's a hint after finishing filling up the gas on a car. Then there's a short pause on the panic event when arriving at the closed gate. There are some closed rooms to camp until the gate opens. Then, the last part is the most confusing one. I restarted map 5 several times because of that last part. When arriving at the end of map 5, there's a glowing chair, & not far from there's there's a glowing area with a hint to break. The chair is somehow bugged when playing with bots. In my plays, I gathered the bots near the chair yet the hint still asked other survivors to get ready first. So, I tested several things & restarted several times to figure out what to do, & somehow I found out. Survivors need to break the blocking fence at the glowing area, & ignore the chair. Guns don't work, neither do pipe bombs. But molotov works. Just burn that area, until there's a hole on the fence. Go there, & the finale ends. However, even after the credit screen appears, the zombies seem to still attack. Probably this part needs fixing.

In short, this campaign is playable, but prepare to feel the "Hard Eight" sensation at certain areas, especially the finale. Playing with bots will be difficult at certain areas, especially during events with endless horde & more frequent special infected spawn. But it's a good Chinese campaign for collection.

A cool campaign with time travel concept

Finished the 3rd play in about 43 minutes while trying to find some easter eggs. I still never got bored even after playing 3 times. The campaign concept about time travel is cool. At the first time I thought that the time traveling process would use teleportation method. I never thought that it would use white wormhole instead. There are character's dialogues on each map, & many of them are funny especially when it comes to Ellis' part. My favourite was when Nick badmouthed a ghost when surprised. I laughed hard each time I went to that part :D . So far I've only found 2 easter eggs, but I have no idea about the use of the head item in haunted house. The other easter egg was the coin. There's a secret door on certain map that gives access to some coins to collect, & if all are collected, a prize room will be unlocked.

So far I found no bug in my play 3 times. The supplies are enough, & the directions along the highlights are clear. Bot navigation is also fine. Somehow the bots can climb the very long ladders without having to do the usual free jump to death. The finale is wide & explorable. There are many good strategic places to camp during finale event. In short, It's one of good campaigns to play over & over again.

A challenging campaign, totally different campaign from the old Derailed

Well, at the first glance, I took the title by mistake. There's also an old campaign with the same name so I thought this one was that same campaign being brought back. But I was wrong. It's a totally different campaign.

In overview, this campaign is good, as during my playing twice, there's no bot navigation bug. The supplies are enough & some are scattered in explorable areas. The hints, highlights & directions are clear enough, though certain areas are still rather confusing & take some time to figure out where to go.

Map 1 has no problem. Although there's no supply in the beginning, the medkits & weapons are scattered at some areas ahead. There's a labyrinth cave that can make some people lost, & special infected can get benefits as there are many hidden places to ambush in the labyrinth cave. The alarm event near the end of the map is quite challenging, as somehow the special infected respawn interval gets faster than usual.

Map 2 is about cave & factory. There's no problem about the direction. However, the special infected respawn time seems faster than usual during some events.

Map 3 takes place in prison. The alarm event in the prison is the longest in this campaign. It becomes more challenging when the special infected ones often spawn in pairs & have faster respawn time. The drawback here is probably the glow on the alarm switch. It only glows after survivors get close enough in the same room where the alarm switch is. It almost feels like playing "Hard Eight" mutation during this event, so rushing is not a good idea. Probably some players will be confused for awhile because some paths in the prison are tricky.

Map 4 is about exploring city to go to the subway. The city area is explorable. There's also a challenge here. It's when survivors arrived at the closed subway station. After turning on the power to open the subway rolling doors, survivors have to detour to reach the subway, & during that time, there's a panic event with more frequent special infected respawn time. Oh and there's an exploitable but also buggy glitch at the finale location. Players can jump over the fence with several mounted guns even before the rescue train arrives. This can be buggy too when players jump too early before turning on the radio - they'll get stuck & have to either teleport or restart the map. The jumping location is around the stairs. Once players are successful to go behind the fence, they get benefits over special infected, as there are some mounted guns there. They only get unlucky if a tank comes from where the rescue train will come. (edited: the new version has fixed this glitch).

Well in short, it's a good campaign to play, & more challenging than usual because of most of special infected respawn time is faster during panic & alarm events. Good to keep as collection. Probably the author would need to make the campaign name a little different, because the name would confuse players as they'll think that this is the campaign from the old time (but in fact, it's a totally new one).

Well, this witch is good, reminds me of a scary local ghost

Nice. It's still rare to see witch mods, & this one is good for collection. I hope that someday there would be more witch mods.

Survival mode bundled as a campaign, recommended to play with friends

This campaign is kind of harder than usual custom campaigns. The word "tournament" there is no lie, as this campaign is about tournaments of scavenge & survival. I'll explain later.

In overview, actually the campaign is playable as there's no crash or error from the beginning to the end. Bot navigation is good as they follow players well but sometimes they can't pick some medkits. Supplies are enough & even there are good weapons in the beginning of map 1. There are instructions & highlights, but most of the time it lacks clues about where to go & what to do next. Because most maps are "tournaments", the longer players have no idea about where to go or what to do, the more dangerous the maps will be, as most maps have either scavenge events with holdout timer or holdout events with much longer time to wait for the rescue units. Some maps have some traps that spawn a special infected, tank, or witch.

Map 1 & map 2 are probably the easiest ones. Map 1 is mainly about scavenge event. In the beginning of map 1, a witch will greet survivors on the railway of the subway. Before climbing to the next subway station, there's either a tank or a witch spawn nearby as a challenge. After getting out of the subway to the city, the scavenge event begins. However, there's no clear clue about where to fill up the gas so it leaves no choice for survivors but to explore the areas. Once they arrive to the center of the city, some tanks will appear one by one. The area is very wide so fighting a tank should be no problem as survivors can also run back to the subway to fight him while running. After the tank's challenge is over, survivors can start to collect the gascans & fill up the gas more peacefully. There's a trap door here that no one should not open.

Map 2 is about walking through corridors to the saferoom. The paths are not difficult as they're linear, though some seem confusing due to similar designs of locations. There are lots of propane tanks at certain area for certain purposes. There are also some Jimmy Gibs zombies spawning somewhere, & they're harder to kill except by magnum pistol or melee weapon (one hit).

Then, the hard challenges start from map 3. Map 3 is about a special scavenge event. There's a lift platform that comes up & down regularly in the beginning of map. Bots are more likely left behind because some of them stand farther from the lift when following players, so players need to go farther until the bots are teleported. What makes the scavenge hard is the timer. The timer uses holdout timer, like only 2 waves of tank & then a rescue music is triggered along with a cursed panic event. A cursed panic event is when the horde keeps coming along with some special infected & one tank per kill. The next tank will respawn soon after the previous tank is killed. At the same time, there's no clue about where to fill up the gas during limited timer. That's why getting lost here is dangerous. My tips to make it easier are throw all gascans to the lowest floor, & then finish the scavenge event as fast as possible by using some vomitjars to distract zombies.

Map 4 is kind of short, but dangerous. Survuvors explore the temple with lava in the lower room. The objective is simple. They need to press the switches as instructed. There are 2 switches, one is to open the cell door & the other is to shut the alarm down & to lower the stairs. Once the first switch is pressed some tanks will greet survivor & they will come endlessly. Facing them head on is the worst idea, & running around is probably the best one to do. The areas are wide enough to run around to bait tanks somewhere far & then press the last switch. Once the stairs are lowered, just run, but stay cautious as there are some special infected instant spawn somewhere near the end of map 4.

Map 5 is about hard scavenge event again. This time, it's about filling up the fuel of the rocket. The timer is the same, like 2 waves of tank & then you're damned. My tips are the same as those on map 3: throw all gascans to the lowest floor & finish it as fast as possible before 2nd wave of tank is over.

Map 6 is about hard holdout event taking place at an arena with many paths leading to the center of the arena. There are some tools that throw survivors to upper floor where the radio is. Once the radio is started, the hard holdout event begins. The holdout event is hard because it's a combination of normal holdout event & survival. After 2 waves of tank end, the rescue music will play. During several minutes, survivors will defend for survival from the cursed panic event. The tank will respawn soon after the previous one is killed while at the same time horde will keep coming along with some special infected. The indicator of when it will end is the aircraft sound & the notification about rescue coming.

Then, the finale is probably the longest map. Survivors need to walk very far until they reach a small fortress for the hard holdout finale. The areas are wide & explorable, but there's no clue about where to go. The glow of a gascan will help a little about finding the paths. There are 2 fortresses here, & the last one is where the hard holdout finale takes place. Just like map 6, this hard holdout finale is also a combination of normal holdout event & survival. The hardest moment is when 2nd wave of tank is over & the rescue music plays. For several minutes, survivors have to defend until the rescue unit arrives, but there's no clue about what kind of rescue unit it is. A little clue for me is, bots know where to go, as long as they're inside the fortress.

In overalls, just like the title, it's a campaign about "unreal" tournaments. It's a survival mode bundled as a campaign, as most of the maps are about survival. Playing with bots are probably not recommended as they'll slow you down because they can't help collect the gascans & deploy better survival strategies. But if you love challenge especially about survival mode, this campaign is probably what you need.

A campaign for fun, only playable with cheat mode enabled

Well, at least the author has suggested to play with friends. In other words, bots will put you into misery, as bot navigation is not good enough. They'll still follow at most areas, but on map 2 & 3, you're on your own. & I can say that this campaign is a half-troll campaign. Play only if you're a fan of such campaigns or have cheat mode enabled, as normally you can't beat map 3 & the finale. I gave 2 stars only because it's playable, with cheat mode.

Before I continue, I'd like to inform that this campaign can't be played through Singleplayer map selection. There are errors about "no such map" & the bsp file is read "new.bsp". Probably it's because the map names consist of "space" instead of "underline". However it's playable when using console command as described on the file description.

Supplies here are enough but there's no boomer bile. Some areas have invisible walls & plain grounds. Some areas lack instructions & directions.

Map 1 is so short that you only need less than 1 minutes (or even less than 30 seconds to finish). The title is "maze", but can't really be called as a maze because it's too short.

Map 2 is the real maze, but it's linear as survivors only need to follow the paths. Lots of parked cars are waiting near the way to the saferoom. There are some invisible walls below the roads with tons of cars.
.
Then, map 3 is the beginning of the troll events. The title is "Very Long Highway", but probably "Tank's & Witch's Very Long Highway" is the correct one. In the beginning, once you open the saferoom door & go outside, a panic event will be triggered & 3 tanks will greet you. During this moment, actually it's still possible for survivors to beat the tanks if they go outside & then run fast to the wide plain ground below the highways. There are lots & lots of cars filling the highways, & most of them are alarm cars without alarm indicator. After that, the next troll events will be impossible to beat in normal way, like 3-4 tanks will greet you near a truck, several tanks & lots of witches will appear after operating the first switch to open the first gate, lots of tank will greet you after operating the 2nd switch, several witches will roam after operating the generator, etc. In short, during my 2nd play, I dealt around 200000 damage in total in the statistics for killing lots of tanks, & that's in Normal difficulty. I couldn't clear in my 1st play because of the impossibility with tons of tanks & witches, so I switched my mod to "Special Destroyer" mod to wipe out the special infected & tanks more easily. It would be a fun map with lots of laughter if you played with cheat mode & god mode enabled, like, tons of tanks would have a soccer match with you as the ball to smash here & there. But if you want to play fairly, well, it's either almost impossible or even totally impossible due to lots of car toys for the tanks to play with.

Then, the finale is short, but only playable either with a god mode or a mod that modifies the damage of the guns to deal huge damage. In the beginning, survivors will get stuck for few seconds on the ceiling of the saferoom, then teleported to the ground. Soon after going out of saferoom, a panic event will be triggered & some witches will spawn somewhere. It's still easy until that part. The insane challenge will begin as soon as you turn on the radio. 4-5 tanks will greet you outside the room with the radio. They will spawn quite often, like on the first wave, those 4-5 tanks will spawn regularly like 3-4 times after the horde wave. Those are not included as the tank wave because there's no tank music as indicator. There are 2 tank waves before the rescue unit arrives, & probably you'll face more than 30 tanks in total (I didn't count because there were so many tank killed by the "Special Destroyer" ability mod I had during testing the playability only). After the rescue unit arrives, the tank will still keep coming, but it's back to normal just like when the normal rescue event is triggered.

In short, play this campaign only for fun with cheat mode enabled. It's not recommended to play with bots or in normal way without a cheat. Oh and the map preview need to be updated. Only one preview with a table of weapons & ammo isn't clear enough about what this campaign is about.

Kind of short campaign, playable but without a melee weapon spawned

I cleared this campaign in about 30 minutes. It's kind of a short campaign. Bot navigation is good in overalls, but they don't pick the health kits in the beginning of map 1. The directions are clear enough. Supplies are good but there's no melee weapon, which is why at certain areas it will be difficult. Some areas have more frequent horde events.

On map 1, there are some buildings & room to explore. However, most rooms are empty. Bots don't take health kits in the beginning, no matter how far players shoot the health kits to juggle them away from the truck. There's an exploding car here, like if you shoot a car, it will explode & flip on the air, but not all cars. The directions & instructions are clear enough, but there's a tricky direction. The horde event here is more frequent than usual, like, almost every time you kill a special infected, horde will be triggered.

Map 2 is kind of short. Survivors only need to get out of the wood to reach the tunnel. The woods has high grass, so some special infected have benefits here. Similar to map 1, horde event here is more frequent.

Map 3 is about exploring the tunnel. There's an escape event near the end of the map, & with no melee weapon it becomes harder than usual.

Then, the finale is kind of short but harder. It's an escape finale to the top of the rocket. The harder moment is when there are 2 tanks at once coming to greet survivors along with the horde in the beginning after opening the rolling door. The special infected spawn interval seems faster than usual. Somehow the rocket mechanism isn't as realistic as the "Golden Eye (I forget the complete title)" campaign, but it's fine as it works from the beginning to the end.

In short, this campaign is kind of simple & playable. Just prepare to fight zombies without a melee weapon

Good campaign with espionage sensations, but some traps are troublesome if playing with bots

After looking at some comments & reviews, I decided to play this campaign. I took about 53 minutes to finish this campaign. This campaign is playable with bots except map 2. It's not because of the bot navigation as the bot navigation is good enough to follow players. It's because of the traps. I'll explain the traps later.

In overview, this campaign applies some espionage features by adding surveillance cameras on most maps. The camera traps only trigger horde, so they're still friendly traps. Some other traps are more dangerous, like laser traps, landmines, & nuke traps, but still doable if playing with people instead of bots. The supplies are good. Even there are good primary weapons on map 1. The directions are clear, but certain areas need more instructions.

Let's proceed to map 1. Map 1 is about going into a military facility. There are some surveillance camera traps that trigger horde when survivors are spotted. The trick to avoid is to stick to the wall. Bots are hopeless, so if you play with bots, just prepare to fight horde each time you pass a camera. There are laser traps dealing great damage here, & behind those lasers there are propane tanks needed to blow a wall up. Only players can pick those propane tanks. However, there are some alternatives, like pipe bomb. If survivors have a pipe bomb, they can blow the wall up with that.

Then, there comes map 2. Map 2 is near impossible with bots. Why? First, because there are some landmines greeting survivors at area near the saferoom & bots will more likely step on them. The damage is very high, like if you step on it, your health will go red instantly or even get incapacitated depending on how close you're to the explosion. Once a landmine is exploded, a tank will come. Second & the near impossible trap to pass with bot is the nuke trap. There are some nuke warheads inside a room with some explosive barrels. Because bots love shooting spontaneously, they will more likely shoot the barrels by accident. One explosion is enough to incapacitate or even kill whole team no matter how far they are from the nuke trap. It's not recommended to play with bots on this map because the difficulty will rise higher & lots of restarts are needed to compromise bot's recklessness. There's also an electricity trap. Pipe bombs are somehow your best friends in this campaign, because the electricity trap can only be disarmed by destroying a control switch.

Map 3 is usually simple, but rather confusing because the lack of instructions. The visible instruction is just to go to the top of the building to turn on the highlighted generator in order to open the locked door on the ground. But in fact, there are like 2 generators. There's a cutscene showing about a door opened, but not a door on the ground. The elevator has more than one floor number on the switch, & that's not without a reason. Once survivors find all two generators & turn them on, the door on the ground will be opened.

Map 4 has several surveillance cameras. Bot navigation here is not good in the beginning, because they will fall & grab on the ledge when passing a very narrow path. This map is about turning on switches to open a locked gate & then going to an open elevator. Adrenaline shot is needed here to rush & arrive on time. There will be an instruction to run fast, & bots will more likely be left behind, so, it's better to play with people here.

Then, the finale is an escape finale, but harder than usual. Unlike normal escape finale, the rescue music will play as survivors press the button in a room with a surveillance camera. The rescue music playing means that survivors will face constant horde, special infected & one tank per kill (next tank will respawn soon after the previous tank is killed). Survivors may choose between climbing ladders or using elevator that's activated by pressing the button in the room before. Some vomitjars will be helpful here. There's a bot navigation bug at the rescue location where a humvee is highlighted. Bots just stand & don't go closer to the humvee, so players need either to kill/ let them die or push them closer to the humvee.

In short, this campaign is good for those who want to experience some espionage sensations & traps. 3 of 5 maps are not recommended to play with bots as the bots will increase the difficulty, like the instant-death nuke trap on map 2 which normally is still doable when playing with people but bots will more likely cause the instant death of the whole team by shooting the barrels by accident. Even I modified & reduce the trap damages on map 2 just to make it playable with bots (but of course the modified version is only for personal use). For people who love more challenges, traps & more challenging finale, this campaign suits them.

Good short campaign, with a challenging finale

Checked campaigns based on alphabet, & found this old campaign, & I took about 35 minutes to finish. Actually till the map 2, it's playable. The real hell is the finale. I'll explain later.

In overview, the campaign is short but fun. Bot navigation is fine. Supplies are good, but somehow there's no vomitjar during my play twice. The paths are clear along with the directions, except the finale (I'll give some clues about the finale later below).

Map 1 is about exploring the city. There are some explorable areas & rooms to check. However, there's no primary weapon in the beginning, so survivors have to explore some rooms first until they find a mounted minigun. The primary weapons are around that area.

On map 2, survivors explore the areas around power plants & generators. Some areas are explorable, & there are some alternative routes leading to the same paths. During waiting for the elevator, there are some good spots to camp, & one of them is a one-way path with covered roof &  some boxes at the dead end that's good to defend from almost all special infected except Smoker from the ground.

Then, the finale is a hard holdout finale. Actually, it wouldn't be that hard if the holdout finale mechanisms were normal. The area is cramped with some forklifts & other tank's throwing toys around, so just beware of tank when he's walking around those throwing toys. Actually the previous areas near the water are still accessible, so survivors can also camp there or run somewhere farther during the finale event. Some people may be confused about where the rescue unit is or where to go there. The problem is, this holdout finale is longer than usual, like, after the 2nd wave of tank ends, the rescue music is played but the rescue route is still closed for like more than 30 seconds, & because of that, survivors will face like two more tanks along with the horde & special infected. The indication of when the route will be opened is the generator. Once the generator is operating & making a sound, the rescue path will be opened. Make sure to take a look at the generator cables, as they will lead to where the rescue path is. There will be a notification about the rescue unit arrived, so before that happens (like after killing 4-5 tanks in total), try to defend somewhere safe.

In short, although this campaign is playable, the finale gives extra challenges. Some strategies may work as long as survivors can secure. It's good for those who love more challenge on the finale. I'll keep this to play again later.

A short campaign good to play for fun, but unplayable in normal way & it needs fixing first

I was curious to this "Home Front", so I tested this campaign. For early reminder, this campaign is unplayable, unless following my fixing instructions below. I'll list the instructions while mentioning the errors.

There are at least 3 big errors that make this campaign unplayable so there are 3 big steps to fix. Hopefully this could also help the author figure out where to fix if someday he comes back. The first simple step to fix is extract the vpk using either "GCFScape" or "vpk.exe". Then follow these big steps:
1. ) The "addoninfo.txt". Something in the addoninfo caused this campaign not visible in addon menu. The simplest way to fix it is by taking a look on other "addoninfo.txt" files in any working custom campaigns, & then doing the "copy-paste" on the whole texts. Then fill the name of the title, description etc. After that, the mod in addon menu section is visible.
2. ) The "homefront.txt" in the "missions" folder. To make it simple to fix, just remove any spaces between the words on title, map names, like for example, change "Return Home" to "ReturnHome". This will make the campaign visible in the map selection menu.
3. ) The landmark in the map 1 bsp file. Normally, if you play from map 1, once you enter map 2 all survivors will fall from the sky to death. This is caused by the wrong naming of the landmark on map 1. To fix it correctly in simple way, open Notepad++, then drag the map 1 bsp file ("return_home.bsp") to the Notepad++. Search with keyword "changelevel". Once you find it, look around it & search the word "Landmarker01". This naming is wrong, because the naming on map 2 is just "Landmark01". To fix it, rename the "Landmarker01" to "Landmark01", & then make the count of total of characters the same (for example, if total of characters is 5867576, make it same by adding some spaces. Otherwise, the game will crash. Like for example:
before= "hammerid" "8750"
after= "hammerid" __"8750" (I gave underlines here because additional spaces are not visible here in the review & automatically edited to only one space between two words. Just change the underlines to space in the real file) ).
4. ) After finishing fixing all those 3 files, repack the campaign by dragging to "vpk exe". Done, & the campaign will be playable.

Well, to make some differences in the review, I'll review this one based on the playability after fix (after doing the steps I mentioned above). This campaign is kind of short. I finished in about 20 minutes. It's good to play for fun. The supplies on every map are enough. Bot navigation has some little problem on map 1, but other than that, it's good. They just don't pick weapons on map 1 unless players juggle the weapon near them. The in-game instructions are clear enough.

Every map is kind of linear & easy to find the route. On the finale, survivors need to defend near some abandoned houses. The sensation feels like "Swamp Fever". There are some good spots to camp. The rescue unit comes few second late, so, survivors will face the 3rd wave of tank during waiting for it to come.

In short, if the author fixed all those 3 big errors, this campaign would be playable. Although it lacks challenge, the short adventure is good to play for fun if you want to play a light campaign with less stress. I'll keep the fixed version to play later.

Well, a hot 2B for collection

This one is good. She looks hot. Now I got more collection for hot beauties, thanks for the mod. Btw I don't know if it was my mistake in modifying the vmt files or not, but when I took off her blindfold for my personal use (I love the beautiful face without any masks, blindfold etc so I usually remove them for personal use), her eyes seemed almost all black. The eyes were still visible at certain angles when they rolled or took a look somewhere, but they're more likely hard to see. Well, probably it's my mistake. I'll take a look on the removed blindfold version again. Or probably you would want to make one for me? I'll be very thankful if you can upload the no blindfold version.

Short but good campaign about buiding stuffs

Reading the description about survivor players are recommended more than bots, I decided to try & prepare a portable sentry mod from an author here as a replacement for survivor players while at the same time checking the playability. I took like about 36 minutes because I built some unnecessary things too to crowd the place lol. Actually bot navigation is fine, but they're not much of help as most features here require players to operate. In other words, the more players are in, the faster it will be to finish the campaign as more players will make it possible to do multi tasks at once. Besides the environmental building spots, there are some features about item creator machine & a machine that calls area support that protects survivors for awhile.

& then about building things, some strategies are needed. Survivors may choose to build some barricades first, but building weapons & recovery items are necessary too, especially because after certain minutes have passed, a tank will appear so weapons with good firepower or molotov/ gascan is needed to handle the tank. In my play, I decided to unlock smg & then rifle first, & then medkits afterwards. The item summoning process is quicker than the item unlocking process, so it's kind of helpful. After getting the desired items for defense, it's time to build. If all 4 survivors are players, multitasking while defending strategy is good. For example two players stay alert for zombies while the other two are doing multi tasks. Or if the team is confident enough with the skill, having 1 player staying alert & the other 3 doing multi tasks is fine.

Then, now it's about the building objectives. There are 3 main objectives: filling up the gas, making a bridge, & then making a rocket. The instructions are clear as there's a kind of banner that show what the next objective is. The length of building process varies on each environmental stuffs. It's long enough to make a special infected grab you, which is why survivor players are recommended, as they can cover & react much faster to zombies & special infected while the other one or two (or three) are building some stuffs. Certain musics will be played as indicators when survivors are close to finishing the campaign.

There are some drawbacks in this campaign to evaluate for the next updates. The first one is the background music. I think it would be better if a music is played since the first spawn, so that players can build while enjoying the music. I ever played another campaign about building stuffs & there's a background music so the building processes didn't feel too silent. The second & the last one is the rocket building process. There's no indicator or notification about how many remaining rocket parts are left, so players have no idea how long it will finish. It would be better to put some instructions closeby about the remaining rocket parts, just like the indicator on the generator about how many more gascans needed to fill.

In overalls, this good & playable, but not recommended to play in Singleplayer. If someone insists on playing it in Singleplayer, at least they need some supportive mods like automatic sentry turrets because bots alone can't handle the defense properly while the player is building something (well, everybody knows how annoying the survivor bots are if it's about defending & helping player getting caught by a special infected). But actually it will be more fun if played with players. The multitasking & people going here & there to build several stuffs at once, that's probably the main purpose of this campaign. So, make sure that you have at least one or two friends to join before playing this campaign for the best experience.

Kind of short but fun lego campaign

I took about 35 minutes to clear this campaign. It's kind of short but fun, & it's kind of refreshing to play a colorful campaign. The supplies are enough (more than enough on map 1, I think, because I found several medkits along the way. Directions are clear on map 1, though map 2 & 3 need careful exploration because they lack directions & map 2 is quite explorable. Bot navigation is fine in overalls with only one problem on the finale at the short ladder (one of my bots jumped off the ladder to death & the another one got yellow health when following me to climb down).

Map 1 is easy to follow as there are directions. The supplies are more than enough, especially medkits. The medkits are scattered though, except the medkits in the beginning.

Map 2 is kind of explorable at some areas including the starting areas. This map requires careful exploration to find the path. The clue is the alarm door. Once players find the alarm door, they go to the right way.
.
Map 3 also lack directions so exploration is needed. Some blocks are tricky. In my play, I thought I was stuck at the corner, trapped behind a block after falling into the water near the saferoom. It's a relief that some blocks could be shoved or shot to move away. Somehow there's an endless horde bug when approaching a door but the door doesn't open. I thought I was stuck so I went back to look for other route, while the endless horde kept coming. I was pretty sure that the lego door was the way so I went back there & tried to push the bots closer, & then miraculously the door opened (edited: it seems that the door opens itself after defending from horde for awhile, but there's no info, instruction or hint while the horde keeps coming during waiting for the door so that could cause confusion for a moment. My 2nd try only on map 3, I decided to observe the door from above, & it opened itself after few minutes). & when there was time to climb down the short ladder, one bot fell to death & another one lost his health fr green to yellow (edited: in 2nd try only on map 3, when I ordered bots to lead the way, one bot, Rochelle, jumped off the ladder & got incapacitated). Well, probably there's nothing to do with the ladder bug, because bots usually love jumping off the ladder during climbing. The finale probably needs something like a trigger to enter credits screen when survivors gather at certain location. In my play, I was confused for awhile, because after 2nd wave of tank ended & the rescue music played, I had no idea where to go. I went back to the radio but the game was still playing. I turned left & right to the empty rooms near the radio but no result. Then after defending for awhile near the radio, the screen went white & proceeded to the credits screen.

In overalls, this campaign is playable with bots or with players. Just prepare a defib on map 3 during climbing down the ladder if playing with bots. & btw, when I check the old version, the maps are listed like "3/6". Does it mean that the author is still working on the rest of the maps? It would be cool if the maps are added in the future, as I need more campaigns like this besides orange campaign to play for fun when I don't feel like playing campaigns with puzzles for awhile.

Short but fun, with exclusive boss battle

Played the latest version (v2.1) & the previous bugs mentioned on previous comments are fixed. Putting the saferooms further behind the locked door & blockade have fixed the bugs in which previously bots attempted to go through the door/ blockade by teleporting.

In overview, the campaign is good to play now. The supplies are enough, & some are scattered around the maps. Bot navigation is fine. The directions & instructions are now clear.

Map 1 has some changes & fixes compared to the previous version. There are lots of magnum pistols in the house along with normal pistols, & some melee weapons for those who prefer melee weapon (at least after the primary weapons are found). The primary weapons on map 1 are scattered around the map, & survivors will find during the journey. Somehow I feel like the special infected spawn locations are unusual. They usually love spawning at hidden locations, but on this map sometimes they spawn at open areas & become easy targets. Probably some materials like boxes or wreckages would be needed to make the areas more crowded, as the wide & quite empty snow area gives special infected disadvantages.

Map 2 is about exploring the ice cave. It's quite short if someone knows where to find the barrel. & about the barrel, I have a random idea to share. Actually map 2 is also good to implement randomized location for the barrel, as map 2 is not wide enough but still explorable. I saw many goods locations to put the barrel randomly. That way, players can explore a bit longer in finding the barrel.

& then, the finale with exclusive boss fight. Kraken is waiting for a challenge. The supplies here are more than enough. At least, there are several medkits & defib just in case unexpected things happen. The Kraken now has flinch effect to indicate when he's taking damage. I still see that Kraken still has potentials to be improved to be a more formidable boss, probably in the next update. & there's one drawback on the finale: the final battle with Kraken is too silent without background music. Adding some background musics would be better so players can enjoy the musics while fighting. Btw I think I have a random idea about the background musics. If possible, the backgrounds music can also be used to indicate how much the remaining health Kraken has, like for example, when reaching 50% of total health, the bg music changes, & when reaching like 10-25% of total health, the background music changes again.

In overalls, it's a short but fun campaign with exclusive boss fight as the finale event. Actually every map still has potentials to tweak to be much longer. Adding more maps would be great too, because I think it's kind of fun & challenging if survivors have to walk on slippery icey floors much longer & meet special infected, or even a tank during deeper cave exploration. Well, I'll look forward to the next updates if there are any plans of updating in the future, as this campaign is promising.

Fun grid campaign

Tested this twice, & cleared the campaign in about 1 hour. The grid areas made me feel like in digital world of digimon in wireframe mode. It's dark but more like high contrast areas in which players can still see around them despite the dark theme. The supplies are enough & bot navigation is fine. Some switches are not highlighted but the instructions help figure out what needs to do. The directions are clear too.

The interesting thing in this campaign is there are some fun features. Coin & key collections are available, but they're optional for those who love exploring & collecting stuffs. I think I still miss some coins in my 2 tries, so I plan to try again later. The other feature is trap building. If you meet like ammo piles but they consist of tools, those are the trap building tools. The traps are landmines & sensor-detection explosive on the finale. They are only triggered by the infected, so survivors are safe walking on them as long as there's no zombie coming to them.

Every map has coins with different colors & some places that can be opened by pushing some switches. The switches can be missed as some don't glow, but they can be found easily if survivors explore carefully. Some maps has keys that unlock secret rooms. I loved the secret room with Terminator theme song on map 3.

Then the finale. Survivors need to walk for awhile to reach the location where the holdout finale takes place. The instructions on the finale are clear, & the weapons there are complete. Sometimes, the finale is bugged, like the car never comes even after 2nd wave of tank is over. I tested the finale 3 times & encountered the bug once.

In overalls, this campaign is fun to play alone or with friends. Btw, about the coins, I think I have a small suggestion. Probably if possible, it would be better to put a hud about the coins, like "gold coin icon= ??/??", so players know how many coins left to collect. Or the author can just write the info about the amount of coins in the campaign description. Btw, I still have no idea about what will happen if players collect all coins.

Natural disasters are your real enemies

I just tried an old campaign for fun. I took like 3 retries, & all of them at the tornado event because I was less prepared & panicked when watching the dancing flame on the tornado. As I mentioned on the title, your real enemies here are the nature disasters. The nature disasters effects are really good here, & deadly as well. I got tricked by the file size. I thought it would be more than 2 maps with such file size, but it was only 1 map. The bigger file size is probably for the natural disaster effects, & this was the first time I played a map with natural disasters.

In overview, supplies are good, though good weapons are scattered somewhere, but at the finale location there are more than enough weapons to choose. The highlights & instructions are clear, but some instructions are confusing. I'll write the details later about that later. Bot navigation is fine in overalls, but sometimes they become the burdens by hanging on the ledge.

In details, this campaign is about going to the military camp to wait for the rescue unit. As I said before, the bot navigation is sometimes bugged, especially during tornado event. The first bug happens when survivors have to plant c4 to a wall. The c4 location is randomly spawned on certain areas, & it's highlighted. The bot navigation bug happens after the c4 is planted & activated. In my play, one bot followed me but the other two stayed near the c4, probably because they detected the good weapons behind the wall & tried to pick those weapons. They took great amount of damage for no reason before regrouping to my location.

The 2nd bot navigation bug happens during the tornado event. Some bots love getting tripped & hanging on the ledge somewhere around the location of the tornado. The tornado is a kind of instant-death natural disaster, & when some bots are tripped & hanging on the ledge during this even, better just leave them as the tornado is quick enough to come, probably around 10-15 seconds after the event is triggered. There's an instruction to escape there, but the instruction is tricky. At least, players will die or even restart once there if they're panicked & just rush. My advice is stay calm & look around closely, especially on the instruction, but act fast as well. & also watch your steps & try not to trip & hang on the ledge during escape from the tornado, as that will be a farewell.

After surviving the tornado event, survivors explore into a building. This is where the confusing instruction appears. Survivors are only ordered to run, but there's no direction about where to go. I don't know how much the timer is, as in my play, I followed my exploration instinct & just kept going & luckily the time was enough for me to get out of the building. The unfair thing here is the boss spawn is not disabled. I met a tank during my escape, & luckily I had a molotov & there's enough room to run around & backward.

Then, the finale event is like an armageddon. It's not only because the defense takes much longer than usual, but also because some disasters become enemies too here. Meteors drop at random locations, & some parts of a building may fall too. The instructions here are not clear enough, so in few minutes after 2nd tank is dead, players will more likely have no idea about what to do, at least until there's a notification about the helicopter arriving in few minutes. Then, there comes meteor shower. That was the first time I felt like playing Final Fantasy in 1st person view mode, meteors keep falling at the yard like "Meteor" magic spell. The helicopter was there but I was reluctant to get close as even at far distance, I still took some burning damage from some meteors. The L4D1 survivors came to help in the end, but well, there wasn't much to help, as the finale was more like survival, at least until the screen turned white. I didn't know what would happen when all survivors fell down during the last few minutes of the meteor shower, as I tried not to die & restart again.

In short, it's a one-map campaign about natural disasters. Other modes are available too. This campaign has many potentials, & it would be cooler if there were more than one map, like at least 3 maps. Actually I expected some more maps about survivors taking cover from several natural disasters. I got hyped after surviving the falling building & curious about what would happen later, just when the map was about to end. More instructions or clues especially during the finale event would be more helpful though, because it sure feels uneasy to keep fighting without knowing when to end for several more minutes after 2nd tank's death. It's recommended to play with friends, because some bots will more likely say goodbye during the tornado event.

Good, but kind of frustrating without clues

Tested this old campaign, & cleared in about 1 hour & 50 minutes. Actually this campaign is good for those who love doing somw objectives to clear a map. All maps have similar objectives like collecting batteries & turning on power to access the locked doors. Bot navigation is fine. Some hints are helpful.

There are only 2 serious drawbacks here: lack of weapons & supplies & lack of clues. The lack of weapons & supplies happen even in the beginning of map 1. Normally, players will only find lots of pistols, & defibs. Some tier 1 weapons like smg & pumpshotgun will only be found later as players explore further. During my tests twice, one of them had a tank when bots & I only had pistols & melee weapons. I had no other choice but to run back to the places where there were barrels & burned the tank there & then kept running until he died burning out to crisp. For personal use, I decided to change some scripts on map 1 from "any_pistol" to "any_rifle", just to replace any pistols found during exploration to decent primary weapons just in case when a tank came.

Most maps are simple, like, I'll give you a tips like this, "If you can't open a locked door or two, you need either to turn on power somewhere or get some batteries to turn on power". Only few clues are provided, & it's just as I said in the quotation, & this is the 2nd serious drawback. Normal players who don't get used to item searching & exploration will get frustrated, as most maps are like mazes of corridors & boxes. Even I solved most mazes just by my usual trick, by "keeping turning left" at the junctions as I'm bad at solving a maze :D .

& prepare your patience on map 4, as I spent most of my time on map 4. Map 4 is the combination of maze & puzzles of switches. Some switches can only open the secret rooms once, so make sure that you take all supplies inside before leaving the secret rooms. The rest of the switches are related to the paths. My usual tactic to always turn left met a dead end here when a locked door required more power to unlock, & I had to put some extra thoughts about the possible paths by looking around. Well, I'll give some little clues to help from frustration on this map. Pay attention to the paths & a control panel on a high place, & find a way to go there. There's a hidden tricky elevator that can lead to that place. Once you solve that one, the rest of paths are just pieces of cake.

Map 5 also has similar mechanisms, but shorter. The locations where the control panels & batteries aren't as difficult as map 5.

The finale also has such mechanisms, but with the camouflaged doors. At first, you may only see a dark cave, but actually some walls are camouflages. If you're confused, just try to shoot around with rifles or pistols. Once you get the power on & unlock the gate, the defense finale is waiting. Somehow, during the finale event, the tank often gets stuck behind a locked room. & the finale is kind of disappointing, because when I looked into the vpk, I saw something like alien queen & I expected to fight a final boss, a real alien. But well, in the end it was just a normal defense finale.

In overalls, it would be a fun campaign if those 2 serious drawback didn't exist. It's still challenging for those who love a campaign with some objectives required to clear the maps & those who love solving mazes. For those who only want to play for fun & refreshment, it's not recommended to play this one, as you'll get more frustrated & much less refreshed when trying to figure out where the batteries & the paths are. But I'll keep this campaign, because I also like to play campaigns about puzzles & objectives once for awhile.

Nice one to play again and again

After so many tests since the first version, I cleared this campaign in about 50 minutes as I remembered the paths well. It looks like the lag problem is fixed especially on map 1, as well as the crash problem on map 3. The mechanism of pushing the button to open the warehouse door is removed & somehow that fixes the crash.

Well, I think I can write a review now. The campaign is much fun to replay again. The supplies are enough. Though there's no primary weapon in the beginning of map 1, it's like "Dead Center" campaign mechanism, in which the primary weapons are set outside the house. It's fine because it's quite fast to get out of the house, & the only threat would be a charger. & boss spawn is disabled, so this can be helpful to survivors that only have melee weapons & pistols in the house. The directions & highlights are clear, as well as the instructions. Bot navigation works well too. I checked the bot navigation by letting them walk on their own to the saferoom using a command in my mod, "Bots Lead The Way", & they could arrive in the saferoom on each map without getting stuck. Even they walked well on the finale, though I set them back to follow me because there's no need for them to do the pathfinding anymore during runaway finale.

Probably it would be helpful if there's one last instruction at the closed gate near the rescue location, like "Find a way to go through the gate". The path can be missed easily during panic in escaping from zombies, so an instruction would be helpful to make players figure out where to go. I had no problem during playtesting more than 5 times since the first version though, as I loved exploring some locations when I met a dead end.

In short, this campaign is recommended to play with bots or with other players. There are some funny chats too. I laughed several times when other survivors kept teasing Ellis even since the beginning on map 1, especially how Nick mocked Ellis :D . One of campaigns with funny jokes inside that I've ever played.

Good old campaign

Cleared this campaign in almost 50 minutes. The campaign is playable & fine with only few problems. I'll mention the problems later. The bot navigation is fine, & supplies are enough. Some areas are explorable but there are many empty rooms in the buildings. The directions & objectives are clear in overall.

The first problem happens on map 1. I don't know if it's just me or not, but on map 1, I experienced great lag spikes along the way (which didn't happen on next maps) that made my fps drop. Probably it's related to the bushes.

On map 2 & 3, there are several events about alarm & running to the saferoom. Some have challenges like faster special infected respawn time. I ever killed around 60 special infected in total on one map, as sometimes they came in pairs. The next problem is in the beginning of map 3. The directions here after breaking the barricade is unclear. I wandered for minutes by entering every house & found no way out, until a jockey came somewhere from a house & led me to the right path.

The finale is wide & has some good spots to camp because some spots are closed areas. The problem here is related to the rescue unit. The rescue unit arrives rather late, so survivors have no choice but to defend a little longer while waiting. There's no direction or highlight on the rescue unit, so survivors need to predict where it will arrive, but I think there's no problem as players will know soon after they explore the areas.

Other than the problems I mentioned, I found this campaign enjoyable to play with bots or friends. I'll keep this to play again later.

Nostalgic L4D1 campaign port

Thanks for porting this one. It's a nostalgic campaign. Last time I played this was when I roughly ported some L4D1 campaigns for my personal use because I saw some good L4D1 campaigns but not available/ ported on L4D2 yet. Some objects were invisible because I didn't properly ported & I just renamed the ".vtx" into ".dx90.vtx". I still remember most areas, including the beginning of map 1 with the crane.

This port works perfectly. Bot navigation is fine & the supplies are enough. The highlights & guide arrows are clear. The campaign is kind of long especially the finale, but it's enjoyable. However, I don't know if it's the side effect/ bug of porting L4D1 campaigns or not (some known bugs of L4D1 porting are like endless panic events or bugged mouse movement that can shoot but can't turn around), but this time, the special infected respawn time seems faster than usual, almost like "Hard Eight" mutation mode on every map. & somehow there are many oxygen tanks on certain maps, I don't know if it's intentional or a bug.

Map 1 is explorable. The guide arrows in the office are clear so just follow them & there's no problem.

Map 2 is rather long but the directions are clear so no worry. The challenge here is the witch. Somehow I met more witches here on my playing twice. There's a bugged door here in the locker room after lowering the container, which even special infected can't break it unless survivors open it first.

Map 3 is also long enough. The construction area is wide & explorable. There are some good camping spots there during defense. The parking area with containers is confusing a bit. There are two paths there: the normal one, & one for jumpers. However, bots can't follow the jumper path as their navigation is only on the normal path.

Map 4 is about walking on the road. Some areas are wide & explorable, but the paths are still clear.

Map 5 is also long enough. The park could be confusing a bit as it's wide & explorable. & the location for the finale is wide. There are many spots to camp, as well as objects that the tank can throw for fun. However, somehow, special infected can still come when survivors walk near the helipad even before turning on the radio.

So far, it's a good old campaign to play with bots or friends. It only requires more caution, as somehow special infected types spawn faster, & some areas are good spots for their hiding. I look forward to other ports about good L4D1 campaigns.

Good mashup campaign to play

I played this several times to check some things, & I never got bored replaying this. Bot navigation seems fine, & the supplies are enough. The directions are clear. There are some tank challenges put on every map, but they're still doable.

On some maps, there are some glitches I found. On map 2 after turning on the van to break the barricade, survivors proceed to a building. Before the building, there's "supposedly" unavoidable alarm car to jump on it in order to go to the building, but players who love jumping around can pass that barricade without even jumping on the car. The barricade is short enough & there's a higher ground to make it possible to jump on it. Then on map 3 Queen City, there's also a glitch. In the beginning of map 3, players who love jumping around can jump on the fence in normal way & go down near the bus without having to pass the unavoidable burning alarm car, & because they can pass the alarm car, the tank challenge here can be skipped.

Other than those 2 maps, things go well. And the finale brings back to my memories when playing the old Silent Hill campaign. However, I never got that ending as the old Silent Hill campaign I took was bugged & stopped on map 11 after entering the transition screen with statistic displays, one map before the randomly generated finale. Well, anyway, the rescue moment on this Country Road finale is unique & fun with that cow & flying saucer. I laughed for a moment knowing that glowing cow lol. & after checking the Mob Stadium that is set as the next chapter after this, suddenly I remembered a L4D1 campaign consisting of several maps with this stadium as the finale, but I forgot the campaign title.

Anyway, it's a good campaign to play again & again with players or bots. I'm looking forward to other mashup campaigns.

Short campaign with some challenges

I haven't tested the old version that is still available here, probably soon later. I took this one around 30 minutes to finish this. Bot navigation is good. Guides, directions & highlights are clear. This campaign has one of things that I'd rather avoid: multiple buttons with no clue & with a trap on one of them on map 1. Well, at least the trap is not an instant-death one (like some traps in certain custom old campaigns), but still it's a instant-incapacitation one in expert mode, as the trap is a tank spawn. The special infected zombies spawn more frequently at some areas.

Map 1 is where the multiple buttons with a trap are. The path is linear, but sometimes it's confusing as there's a locked door that can be unlocked but actually it leads to previous location. The multiple buttons have a tank trap, & the place is so narrow that survivors are more likely to get a punch from the tank. Pushing all buttons fast is a good idea, because the door will open soon & players can run fast & then fight the tank there. Somehow at certain locations, I heard lots of witches crying, like tons of them but I only met 2 or 3 of them. I still wonder where they could possibly be.

Map 2 is kind of confusing in the beginning. After opening the alarm door, in few minutes it seems like there's no way to go, but actually it's kind of tricky. There's actually a door opening slowly. Certain locations have some challenges, like, a locked door with a tank icon to push to unlock will have a tank waiting inside, & it's unavoidable as it's part of the path.

The finale is short but challenging. After going down to the radio on a car, survivors need to defend for a while until the fence opens. It's a normal defense finale, but somehow with a witch. A witch was highlighted during my play, but I didn't disturb her as I was already too busy to defend & wait for 1st & 2nd waves of the tank. The rescue location was confusing for awhile, as I though it's up the building but there's no way to go up there. But I was wrong, & fortunately I found the place in time.

In short, it's a short but playable campaign.

Good campaign, but beware of jockey & hunter

I took around 40 minutes to finish this campaign. In overview, there's no bot navigation problem. Supplies are enough & highlights are clear. However, most maps lack directions as most areas are about grass & swamps. & most maps are perfect hiding places for special infected.

Map 1 has tall grass at most areas. There's no direction, so sometimes players can get lost for awhile. However the map is kind of linear so it's not that difficult to find the paths if players track carefully. Special infected zombies have advantages here, especially jockey & hunter. It's better to move in close distance to each other, but not close enough to avoid bowling effect of charger's charge.

From map 2 to 4, there are deep water & swamps. Just like map 1, the water is deep enough so jockey & hunter are totally hidden beneath water. The real threat comes when a tank appears, as survivor's movement are slower in the water & there are many trees for the tank to run zig-zag. If he comes, better start running backward while shooting. Many areas remind me of "Swamp Fever" official campaign, with flooded effect. Not exactly the same though.

Then, the finale is a gascan finale. Somehow there's no tank in my play. I didn't know whether that was because I rushed to collect gascans as fast as possible or there wasn't really a tank. The department store was big enough though, to fight a tank inside. Oh and the place where to fill up the gas isn't highlighted, but I think people will know what to do when they reach the location.

In short, this campaign is playable, but with harder difficulty as the most environments give advantages to special infected. Patience & caution are the keys. & bots can be your best friends here, because their detection skill is kind of cheating lol :D . Just how come they can see through deep water & tall grass while players normally can't...? Well, I keep this campaign to play with friends later as it's good as Swamp Fever's alternative.

Awesome, great, & I think words aren't enough to explain how cool this masterpiece is

I took 1 hour & 33 minutes to finish this campaign while exploring. Well, it's one of coolest campaigns I've ever played, probably equal to "Back to School", "Tour of Terror" & other great old custom campaigns, & well-made with high quality. Many features are implemented here, like finding items, scavenge, radioactive areas, radioactive "bombs", tank's challenge, & a special finale. It's a long journey but with lots of fun. The supplies, bot navigation, directions & highlights are all fine. Every map is explorable. But there's one thing that makes me curious until now, gascans for scavenge event that exist on almost every early map.

Map 1 reminds me about an old long one-map campaign, "Left in Prypiat". It's about journey through abandoned buildings. The weapon supplies are good, as there are hunting rifles near the smgs in the beginning. There are some radioactive "bombs" starting from this map. It's more like a big mushroom with green smoke. Map 2 is also about a long journey through the abandoned buildings like map 1.

On map 3 finally my curiosity by bringing a scavenge gascan along the map got paid. There's a scavenge event on map 3 with wide area around. I saved some time by carrying one gascan from the beginning of map 3, & all I needed was just finding the rest of gascans. It would take some time to find the gascans, but it's fine as the event starts after filling up the gas. There are many places to camp, including some closed places.

Map 4 has an event with an alternative option. Because I usually explored a map to look for some supplies, I chose the alternative option. The main one looked like a puzzle-solving event, because the hint said so, while the alternative option was the easier way, I think, because after all items were collected, I just needed to push the highlighted machines one by one.

The finale is straight to the point. Survivors need to turn on generators required to open the big gate. Once all generators are on, the defense finale starts. There are some tank challenges on the early waves after the horde stops. I forgot how many tank I had faced. I just remember that there were 2 tanks in the beginning, then after special infected came few times, there came a tank again. But the area was so wide that it's still possible to face tank several times. Actually, it would be more fun if it's added with an event when one of the generators is broken & needs repair, just like the official "Crash Course" campaign. Then, after the last wave of tank ended, there came the cool special event. I liked that one, when after entering the gate, we had to defend for awhile against endless horde + SI + one tank per kill...with a mounted gun in a post. It felt like in an epilogue of an action zombie apocalipse movie, when tons of zombie kept coming along with the big one, & we just kept shooting until the gate was closing slowly.

In short, this campaign is really worth playing, & cool enough to be an official campaign (or even better than the official ones). It shows a really great work of masterpiece. I can't wait to see the next chapter. Thanks for making such a great awesome custom campaign.

A worth playing alternative No Mercy campaign

Played this, & I took about 1 hour & 30 minutes to finish. It looks like a totally different campaign on the early maps. The bot navigation is fine in overalls, but on map 2 in the office bots don't take weapons unless pushed close enough, & sometimes they still insist on carrying smgs & normal shotguns instead. The directions & hightlights are clear. Supplies are also enough. There's a custom tank skin here, like the rock one in Fantastic Four. On some maps, there are invisible walls blocking a path, like doorways but survivors can't pass.

Map 1 feels like a different atmosphere. It's the same start on the roof, but the design & the routes are different. Some areas are explorable.

Map 2 has a nice feature, a ventilation in the beginning of the map. In my play, a tank came too early at the subway, so I hid in the ventilation & shot him until he's dead. Map 2 is also explorable & the path is clear.
.
There's a kind of maze in the sewer on map 3, but there are some directions to help find the way. Some paths in the sewer are narrow enough to make a charger bowl all 3 survivors while carrying one of them during charge, so charger has benefits here.
.
Map 4 has a new atmosphere in the hospital, as all common infected are patients. This map is also explorable in each room. & there's an event about running to saferoom after opening an alarm door.

Map 5 is still in the hospital. It looks like the original, like the event about waiting for the elevator & the under-construction part of the hospital, but the design & routes are different. However, during waiting for the elevator, somehow there wasn't any panic event triggered & only special infected ones came to greet me, although there were many new rooms & spots to defend during waiting the elevator to come.

And the finale, it has more rooms & places to defend on the roof. There are some good spots to defend, & the old defense spot on the mounted gun area is still a good one, as long as there's someone to cover the back.

In short, this version of No Mercy gives a new experience like a new campaign. Even my memory about the paths in the original No Mercy campaign mostly didn't work here & I had to explore again just like when playing a new custom campaign. It's a good job to bring back this campaign & fix it at the same time. It's a worth playing campaign.

Long but well-made campaign

Finally I had a long free time & played this. In my first test last weekend, when I thought the map 1 was really long, I cancelled & today played the full campaign & took 1 hour & 45 minutes to finish. The 2nd test, I took 1 hour & 7 minutes when I let the bots lead the way & used a shortcut on finale. It's a well-made campaign. There are many features bundled as one, like riding a boat while shooting, searching for switches & keys to proceed, & there's a tank challenge. There's also some custom music. Actually, one map in this campaign is equal to 2 normal maps, because the journey is long on each map. It's been awhile since last time I played a long campaign.

In overview, the bot navigation in this campaign is good in overalls, except on some areas I'll mention below. The supplies are enough, along with the custom weapons. This campaign was the first one for me to test the custom weapons one by one to see the effects. However, I think there's something about the lag issue, & some are probably related to the scripts. In my case, I tested with & without my own modified custom weapon mods. The mods didn't conflict to each other, luckily, but when I saw the net graph, there's a big difference between my play with & without my mod. With my mod, the "in" statistics below the "fps" rate on the net graph showed between 800-900, & when horde came, it reached around 1000 (probably because some of my custom weapon vscripts were duplicates to the existing vscripts in this campaign). Then, without my mod, the "in" showed between 600-700. When I compared with other custom campaigns & the official campaigns, they only showed between 100-200. Well, fortunately I could still play well to the finale. Probably for map optimization, some map specialists here could help fix this problem.

For the specific ones, I'll start from map 1. Map 1 has enough supplies in the beginning, along with the custom weapons. The route is clear, but sometimes players may look around to find some paths hidden in the corner. On map 1, there's a feature of riding a boat while shooting. The zombies keep coming all over the area during this event. Just beware of smokers. There's one bot navigation bug at an area where there is a rotating platform. The platform keeps rotating, & bots can't follow players to get on the platform. But in my case, they teleported soon when I went far enough in front of the door leading to the "arena", where there's a tank challenge. The supplies are enough in the arena, along with some mounted guns to deal with a tank. There's a good spot to camp here, at least until tank comes.

Map 2 has multiple routes leading to one path. It's also kind of long map, but somehow I found no tank in my full play twice. However, there's a dangerous bug here. It's the falling platform. Actually there are 2 routes, by ladder & by the falling platform to fall into the water. The falling platform is the fastest, but sometimes bugged. In my play, Nick & I got stuck on the wrecked platform, & I had to use a close teleportation in my mod to set Nick & myself free. The ladder is the safer. On map 2, there's an objective about turning on generators while the horde keeps coming. There's no direction of where the switches are & the switches only glow at close distance, but they're quite easy to find.

The hardest one is probably the finale (or I say, "The finale, for now"). Some areas on the finale are wide & have multiple paths. It's no wonder if players get lost & retrace the previous routes to find the right direction (I did that several times in my first play). & there's a labyrinth at the paths on the high place. During my plays, I took both paths, the labyrinth one & the shortcut. I wasn't good at solving a labyrinth so I followed the simplest rule by keeping turning left until I found the way. Going through the labyrinth was kind of dangerous, because while the horde kept coming, the special infected also came one by one, including charger that could take a survivor down to the bottom & some unlucky survivors might fly to death at the bottom after getting hit by his charge. & then there's a shortcut. I didn't know if this shortcut was intentional or not, but I found a guide arrow at the bottom leading to the fence. There's a ladder near the fence, & I climbed up. However, this shortcut wasn't good for bots, because two of my bots fell down on the hole that only players could jump over it. & there are some bot navigation bugs during running when the rescue notification pops up. In my 1st play, one bot tripped & fell to death just few meters before we reached the rescue location. In my 2nd play, I walked more carefully while looking back several times to help bots fight a tank behind, & one of the bots was grabbing the ledge when tripped, but he could go up again as the other bot was helping while I was covering them from zombies & tank.

Well, in short, this campaign is long but nice. The gameplay is fine, but the difficulty is probably higher than average, especially on events with continuous horde + SI on the finale. The only problems to fix are few bot navigation bugs I mentioned above, & the bugged falling platform on map 2 when falling into the water that can make survivors stuck & then suffocated to death in the water. Oh, & also the issue on the netgraph that shows the "in" statistics much higher than when playing official campaigns (this one might probably be different from other players' experience, but you can try to compare it with the official campaigns or other custom campaigns, with netgraph enabled during play).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next updates, especially the next maps, as survivors still need to run to the helicopter. Just as I expected, this campaign is worth more maps to add into it. Keep the good work.

Good to play

It's a good campaign to play.I only found minor problems during play, & those problems didn't affect my play so far. Like, on map 1, there's kind of vertex error that filled up my console with error notifications. it said about "poodle", probably a missing texture in the beginning of map 1. Other than that, on the credits screen, somehow I saw "Dead Air" instead of "The Mortuary".

Other than those minor problems, the rest are fine. Bot navigation is fine from the beginning to the finale. The directions & highlights are also clear. The finale doesn't have a highlight about where the rescue location should be, but I think it's no problem, because players can find it if they explore carefully. Actually I have a suggestion about the finale. I think it would be better to lock the path to the rescue location first during the finale event, at least until the rescue notification pops up, to give more challenge. That room is sure a nice place to camp, at least until the tank comes, because it's really a closed room with only one way out, very strategic place to wait for zombies, with only one disadvantage, no supplies (but this can still be solved by "juggling weapons". I often do this when I carry a different weapon from those available in the finale area). Actually there are also other strategic rooms to camp other than in rescue location, but that rescue location room is the best one, I think.

Good, but the finale need fixing on the bot navigation

Because I was curious due to different feedbacks in workshop & here, I gave a try. The feedbacks in the workshop are mostly positive, while here, there's a bad review without any clear explanation. I tested it myself to give some objective views from mine.

Actually, this campaign is not that bad. My play went smoothly from the beginning to map 4. Bot navigation was fine until map 4. I only found the lack of better weapon, like on early maps, I only found a hunting rifle while bots were still carrying smgs. Actually, it's fine for me, because most maps have wide areas, & that gave me benefit even when bots were still carrying smgs. The problems started from map 5, but I'll explain it later on map-specific review below.

Map 1 is wide. Survivors mostly meet wide plains to explore. The drawback is the lack of directions/ guide arrows, but actually the map is still easy to figure out the paths as long as players know the simple trick to beat wide areas.
.
On map 2, survivors explore wide cave. It's rather dark but not too dark. Though there are no guide arrows, the path is clear if players are used to explore a map. In my play, most of my bot team still got tier 1 weapons here, while bot Rochelle was carrying a hunting rifle.

Map 3 is the real dark map, as the exploration happens at night on the hills. Chargers really have benefit here, as once a survivor is charged off the hill, it's an instant death. There's a jumpscare in which all survivors suddenly scream for no reason when opening a door, & that surprised me a bit & I laughed for awhile. There are some witch prisons here. The witches are imprisoned inside some rooms with the unbreakable saferoom doors. But in my play, I didn't mess with the witches & left them alone. There's a funny feature about a rail, in which if the switch is pressed, the floor will start moving fast & send players to the end of the corridor. However, that's only for players, because bots still walk normally as they usually stay behind.

Map 4 is in the daylight. There are many alarm doorways here, & there's a tank challenge in which two tanks are coming instead. But' it's no need to worry because the area is wide enough to shoot & run. There are special alarm doorways that won't trigger alarm if players enter the correct one, but don't expect bots to understand this because they're too stupid to figure out the correct doorway. In my play, even when I was successful in finding the right one, bots walked to the wrong doorways, & that triggered panic events for no reason.

Then, there's map 5 that has the real problems. On previous maps, bot navigation is fine. Actually it's fine too on this map, at least until the rescue event. Let's start from the beginning on map 5. The finale actually gives survivors great benefit, because there's a building with unbreakable windows & there's only one way to go out. At the same time, there are lots of weapons provided near the exit door, so anytime survivors are running out of ammo, they can just swap weapon quickly, or just keep shooting & then swap quickly instead of reloading. After the tank of the 2nd wave is dead, there come the problems. The rescue notification pops up, but there's no highlight on the rescue unit. Actually it can be solved by exploring the map just before turning on the radio. The rescue location is quite easy to find before starting the finale. The last but disadvantageous problem is when the rescue unit arrives. Bot navigation is bad here, because they don't want to get in while horde with tank keeps coming. The only ways to win this finaly are either by pushing/ teleporting the bots into the rescue unit or letting them die as sacrifices.

I would give 5 stars if the finale didn't have such serious bot navigation problem during rescue event. But in overalls, actually it's a playable campaign, with only map 5 that requires all-player survivors or all-bot sacrifices to finish. I have no problem about the lack of guide arrows, as I'm used to explore a campaign carefully & do some problem solvings in finding paths. This campaign is good to play, but it's recommended to play with players because of bot navigation problem on the finale. But if you insist on playing this with bots, just leave them as the sacrifices & get into the rescue unit alone as they'll drag you to die together if you try to wait or push then one by one into the rescue unit while horde with a tank keeps coming. I'll keep this to play again later.

Playable but also confusing at some locations

First of all, in order to play this campaign without error, the "Burning Night" campaign needs to be disabled in "add on menu", because map 2 conflicts with "Burning Night" campaign due to same map filename. Due to the similar name, I checked the other two campaigns with similar names (Dead Street & Dead St) to see if this was a duplicate or not, but I found out that this one was totally a different campaign.

This campaign is long but also frustrating at some areas. I'll explain & give some clues later to solve the most frustrating location. The supplies are enough, & there are good weapons in the beginning of the campaign. Bot navigation is not bad in overalls, but it's bugged on certain location. One of the locations is inside the ruined mall. When survivors have to cross the wooden planks & jump to the other side, the bots can't jump. Players either have to teleport the bots or let them teleport by themselves after players go further from that bugged location.

Then, the second & main problem is the directions & guides. This campaign lacks directions, & the highlights only glow at close distance. Sometimes players need to look around to see the paths, & sometimes break some boxes. The most frustrating location due to lack of guides & directions is the finale. The finale is short but frustrating. I tried twice in order to figure out where to go, only found the switches in the 2nd try. Because it seems unfair to those who play this campaign for the first time to experience this frustration, I'll give some clues to help ease the frustration. On the finale, after entering a building with a mounted gun, look for 2 switches. The first switch is in a room in the same floor as the mounted gun. Just search carefully in every room. The 2nd switch, which also triggers the finale event, is in the lower floor. Just follow the guide arrows to find that switch. However, the 2nd switch won't glow if the 1st switch isn't pressed yet. Then, about the rescue unit, the helipad is a trap, but also a clue. The rescue unit is not a chopper, but you can find it near the helipad. Just focus your exploration at that area, or you can also defend there although it's kind of risky because there's a forklift that can easily flies when smashed by a tank.

So, in overalls, what makes this campaign difficult is the lack of directions, especially the finale. Even the rescue unit is not highlighted, so that makes it harder to find out where to go. It's playable with bots though, except at certain areas. If only the finale were clear with highlights & guides, I would give 4 stars, because I could enjoy the play & solve the paths...until the final frustration arrived. I hope that this review would help much in overcoming the frustration, especially on the finale.

A long campaign, but it's good to play

This campaign is kind of long. I finished in 1 hour & 20 minutes. Many areas are very wide to explore. However, there are many empty rooms as well, though some of the rooms have supplies. The most difficult map is map 3, I think, when survivors have to run through a very long panic event after blowing up a gate. Melee weapon is sure needed there. After map 3, I let the bots lead the way with certain commands I put in my mod, while at the same time, I checked the bot navigation. So far, bot navigation is fine except on the finale after the rescue vehicle is seen. In my play, one of the bots was stuck near boxes near the rescue truck, so I had to go down & led them to jump from the back of the truck again. The finale has a bug that may confuse players. After the 1st tank is dead, there comes a notification about the rescue vehicle arriving, but actually it isn't yet. In my play, the gate leading to the rescue truck opened after the 3rd tank was dead (or 4th tank...?).

In short, it's a long but good campaign to enjoy. The areas are not too dark as well. The areas in the old Silent Hill campaigns are still much darker than this. Thanks for uploading the ported version of L4D1 campaign to L4D2. Actually I've been trying to collect some ported L4D1 campaign to play in L4D2, as there are many good L4D1 campaign worth playing. I'll add this to my collection to play again later.

Good & enjoyable campaign

I finished the campaign in about one hour. This campaign is long but fun, despite its small file size. Some areas are wide & explorable. The bot navigation is fine & supplies are enough. However, some textures are missing, as during my play, I saw some pink textures. The car textures look flat. Somehow I rarely met a tank until the last two maps in my play.

So far, aside of the texture problems, it's a good & enjoyable campaign. Thanks for uploading this campaign.

Small file size but worth playing

This campaign is short but good. I finished less than 30 minutes while checking some things. In overalls, bot navigation is fine. I tested this by using one of commands "Bots lead the way" in my mod. They walked properly to the paths, from the beginning to the end of every map. The only bot navigation bug is on the finale when the chopper arrives. Bots can't enter the chopper on their own. I had to push them one by one into the chopper during my play.

The paths are clear, & some areas are explorable. Most highlights are clear except the switch on map 1. As I used "bots lead the way" command, the bots just teleported through a wall, leaving me alone trying to figure out which path to take. Fortunately, there were sparks on the switch so that helped find the switch even without the highlight. Some ladders are intriguing, like, I would have had no idea of where to go on the broken street on map 1 if bots hadn't walked on their own to discover the hidden ladders.

The conclusion is, despite being a short adventure, this campaign is worth playing with bots or with friends. Good work.

A nice alternative version

Looks like this is a good alternative version of the official "Dead Center" campaign. There are more explorable paths in this version. Most paths are different from the original so it's like playing a new campaign. Bot navigation is fine in overalls, & the directions & instructions are clear along with the highlights. Some events like the elevator in the hotel, cola delivery on the street & alarm door in the mall are removed, but the horde still keeps coming at certain location until survivors reach the alarm switch room in the mall. The finale is different, as the gascan gathering event is replaced by "turning on generator" event, but it's still challenging as survivors have to run back into the mall to get the car while horde & special infected are chasing.

In short, this "Dead Center" version is more to adventure & exploration than special events. I'll keep this to play with friends later. I can't wait to see their reactions when playing this version. Good work.

Small but good campaign

Despite its small file size, it's a good campaign with "finding key" features. Some challenges look dangerous, like, on map 1 in my play, how come a tank came in when we still had only a pistol? I felt sorry to one bot that become his punching bag when we were picking guns outside the room to help kill the tank. Anyways, the instructions, directions & highlights on items are clear. Bot navigation is fine in overalld, but sometimes they love jumping from the ladder during climbing down & losing some of their health for no reason. Then, on the last map, after the transition screen, the screen froze & I couldn't move at all. I saw the error in the console about a map with the name "the ravine". Looks like "the ravine" will be the next map. I'm looking forward to the completion of this campaign.

A good short campaign to enjoy

This campaign is short but enjoyable. There are lots of melee weapons in the beginning of map 1, & there's autoshotgun too. The directions & highlights are clear, including the warning notifications about dangerous events. The bot navigation is fine, & the supplies are enough along the way.

Somehow I felt like I'd ever played the finale. Maybe the finale was used as a finale in a mashup campaign I played back then last year. Anyway, it's an enjoyable campaign to play. Even the tank challenge on map 1 was thrilling but lots of fun too, as some tanks jumped from a helicopter & chased us to the saferoom.

Kind of short adventure but fun

Played this campaign, & this one is short but fun. Some places remind me of "Dead Air", & "No Mercy" campaigns. The bot navigation is fine. Somehow the weapons seem insufficient, because there are only tier 1 weapons almost half the way, & I found no boomer bile during my play & only found one hunting rifle half the way. Some better weapons come later, but mostly are from L4D weapons. I only found ak47 once & didn't find a military sniper till the finale.

The finale is like "No Mercy". Survivors have to defend on the roof during waiting for the chopper. Some spots are good to camp if players know from where the zombie will mostly spawn. Somehow in my play, the chopper was late. I heard the rescue music, the pilot voice calling out the survivors, but the chopper didn't come to the helipad for few minutes so I had to fight extra tanks few times. Luckily some places were good for running around to avoid tank's pursuit, so that made us survive till the late chopper finally came.

In overalls, though this campaign is rather short & simple to enjoy the adventure, it's a good one to enjoy playing for fun after going through other difficult & complicated campaigns. I'll keep this to play again later.

A campaign with traps, but still good & playable

It took me almost 2 hours to finish this campaign. The book really can't be judged by its cover. I meant, with such small size, this campaign is really long. In this campaign, rushing will make you receive lots of damage or even get incapacitated, because some traps require caution. However, the bot navigation seems fine & supplies are more than enough, just in case some survivors take too much damage. Some maps give the special infected benefits, as there are some trees, bushes, & cars to hide & then give sudden leap or charge on a survivor.

Pros=
- A long campaign.
- Lots of supplies.
- Mostly friendly traps, as there are no instant-death traps, but players still need to be cautious because some traps can incapacitate some survivors at once if careless.
- Helpful instructions & notifications about the traps ahead.

Cons=
- Some rock-throwing traps look confusing. Like for example, on map 1, I had no idea where the rock came from. I thought the birds sometimes threw the rock, but that's kind of impossible.
- The gas leak can be confusing. Usually, a gas leak like that deals damage to survivors, but in this campaign, it doesn't deal damage. So my extra caution was kind of tricked by this gas leak.
- Some areas are confusing because of lack of directions. For example, on a location where there are some static tanks throwing rocks randomly with some witches walking around, there's no clue whether survivors have to go to the center of the tower or somewhere else. I spent much time looking around to figure out where to go.

Aside of the cons, this campaign is still playable, & bot-friendly. The key is staying cautious & no rushing except if someone has memorized the locations of the traps along with the patterns. One of good campaigns with traps.

Good in overalls, but some bugs need fixing

After seeing no further update, I think I'll make a review here. Actually I had posted some comments related to the latest update, but well, I played once more to make this review.

In overview, the supplies are enough. Even at some places, there are more than enough medkits. However, at some areas, bots can't pick the medkits or weapons, like for example, medkits in the saferoom on map 2 & the hunting rifle on the police car on map 2 after climbing up the ladder & triggering horde. Bot navigation is good in overalls, but at some areas, it has errors. I'll explain on the review per map below.

On map 1, there's no problem so far. If someone wants to look for a melee weapon, there's one at the first spawn point inside the house. There's also one primary weapon there, & I found one magnum. The rest of primary weapons are scattered along the way. The challenging moment is when survivor is near the end of the map. They have to run to the saferoom as there are endless panic events triggered.

On map 2, there's some bot navigation errors. The first one is in the saferoom. Bots can't navigate the medkits, so bots that previously on map 1 didn't get a medkit will still walk without a medkit. The 2nd bot navigation errors is when survivors climb from the first sewer to the surface that automatically triggers panic event. There, bots can't pick the hunting rifle lying on the police car. On map 2, it's advised that players choose underground path if they play with bots, because there's a bot navigation error on surface path above the roof. The navigation error happens when survivors need to cross a wooden plank in order to go down from the roof. Bots will get stuck there, unable to follow players until they get teleported automatically. Meanwhile, the underground path is bot-friendly, as there is no bot navigation error there. However, sometimes a tank is spawned at a dangerous location & sometimes there's no tank but only a witch. For example, in my case, a tank was ever spawned just right at the sewer in front of me after jumping down to the underground path.

On map 3, there's only one problem. That's the bot navigation error at the manhole near the horse statue. When players climb up & see a horse statue from that manhole location, bots can't follow players until they get teleported automatically.

On map 4, there's no bot navigation error. However, the instruction at the end of the map seems confusing. It says about what kind of finale the survivors will face if choosing one of the garages if they choose the one on the right, but it's unclear about which one is the right & which is the left. So I think I'll give a clue. The garage near the humvee car is the left, & the other side is the right. So, if players want a gascan finale, they can choose the one near the humvee car.

The finale on the bridge sometimes has an error. Sometimes when survivors turn on the radio, there are no zombies at all no matter how long they wait. When it works, it's like the usual holdout finale, but if players know where the zombies will spawn, the finale event will be easy.

The gascan finale is fine. The timer is enough even when played in Singleplayer. The supplies are provided at the lower floor near the train, while the rest are scattered on the upper floor.

In overalls, it's a good campaign to play, though on some maps, it's better to play with players because bot navigation has some problems there & need fixing. I'll keep this in my addons folder. I'll update my review when there are new updates about this campaign.

Shorter version of Beldurra 2, with different and challenging finale

This one is the short version of "Beldurra 2" campaign, with slightly different maps. The features of unlocking door by picking lock & making your own pipebomb & molotov are available here too. Map 1 is like map 3 of "Beldurra 2", but with different route & environments. Map 2 is like a map in the drainage, but with reversed route & slightly different environments near the end of the map.

The finale is slightly similar but actually different in overalls. However, I think the finale is harder than "Beldurra 2", because in "Beldurra 2" survivors only need to ride on the craft & focus on zombies that only come on shallow ground. In this campaign, survivors need to escape to a house near the rescue saferoom with zombies keeping coming, & then defend there until the rescue saferoom opens. Special infected are also aggresive here, just like playing a mini "Hard Eight" mutation; the only difference is the number of spawned special infected are still normal. However, that still makes the finale difficult. What makes the finale more difficult is the lack of directions. The finale has some routes leading to the same destination, & with intense panic attacks & special infected spawns, survivors will feel distracted so much that they'll lose the sense of direction sometimes. The rescue saferoom is also bugged, because the gate can be closed even when there are still some survivors outside. In my case, the bot Nick was still running outside when I pressed the switch, & when I wanted to pick him up, the gate was already starting to close, so I aborted my plan by waiting inside, until the gate was closed & then Nick died fighting the horde & tank.

In overalls, it's a fun & challenging campaign to enjoy as the alternative choice from the "Beldurra 2" if players want a shorter gameplay (but with harder finale). There's no bot navigation error & supplies are enough.

Simple but fun

I finally got time to make a review on this campaign. This one is a simple campaign because map 2 is a revisited map going backward, back to the van. However, the journey is quite long & enjoyable, as long as a tank doesn't appear near the cars :D . The directions are clear but sometimes players need to walk around to find the guide arrow to jump down.

The only problems I found are on map 2 or finale. The first problem is the ladder where survivors have to climb down after collecting the gas. The horde keeps coming & climbing up, & someone has to cover fire from above while others are climbing down, but this won't work in Singleplayer. There's a trick for Singleplayer though, like throwing a molotov down the ladder to burn all zombies down there then climb down & take some damage while running away from the flame. Bots sometimes just jump down & die on this ladder, especially when some zombies disturb them during climbing down. The second problem happens when survivors need to climb up on the other side. I don't know if it's just me or not, but on my several tries, there was a fake wall blocking the way. On my first play, I got confused & though that probably there was another route, but I didn't find...until I just jumped for fun on the stairs & miraculously passed through the fake wall to the ladder behind it.

Other than those minor problems, this campaign is fun, especially on finale. It's really fun to keep running & shooting while horde & special infected keep coming. Thankfully, the supplies are enough so anytime the ammo is running out, players can pick ammo or swap weapons on some places during running back to the van. Btw, just a little suggestion for the author, but I think it would be better if the other chapters are linked below the description using "linked contents". That way, other players can also enjoy the adventures from the "Burning Night" chapter to "Infection Overdrive" one.

Nice and worth playing campaign

I played twice to check something, & this campaign was fun & enjoyable. The supplies are enough, & no bot navigation bug. The directions are well provided. Ah, & there are some cool custom melee weapons here, like dragon spear (Guan Yu's spear in Dynasty Warriors) & chi knuckle (like a telekinetic punch). Somehow those custom melee weapons don't conflict with other custom melee weapon mods.

Map 1 is kind of short as survivors just need to follow the directions to the closed gate, & blow the gate with c4 & then run to the car. Map 2 is like a mini finale, because the only objective here is to collect the gascans for the car. What makes it rather difficult is because some gascans are scattered really far away, & if they get burned by accident, survivors have no choice but to pick them back from the far locations.

Map 3 is kind of long with several holdout events. There is a house of witches with some "prizes" inside that Ellis sure loves them a lot lol :D . In the first holdout event, there's a key required to open a door. Actually the room where the key is located is also a good place to camp, but it's rather far from the switch to open the gate after the music is over. There will be a tank challenge in a dojo with Guan Yu's spear, & it's kind of thrilling but fun. After that, there's an escape event through the subway on fire. The last rolling doors with two switched to push sometimes get bugged. My first try, they were bugged so I had to teleport through the doors with my mod. The 2nd try, I tried to defend in the control room where the door switches are located, & it went well without bug. The last holdout event happens when waiting the train to come. There are some good spots to camp, & lots of incendiary & explosive ammo packs to spend during holdout event.

The finale is really wide & challenging. Survivors can defend anywhere they want. Even they can run back to the saferoom & stay there until 2nd tank wave comes. The finale event seems longer than usual, & more challenging as there are two tanks coming on the 1st tank wave, & 4 tanks on the 2nd wave. Fortunately, the area is so wide, so it's fair enough to fight tanks that many.

In overalls, it's a nice & balanced campaign to enjoy.

Not bad & worth playing

Playing this campaign, & this one is good. It's a linear campaign but it's enjoyable. The supplies are enough, & I found no bot navigation problem here.

Map 1 is somewhat tricky for awhile, when survivors have to jump to another building. A ladder there is a decoration. I tried to climb back to see other possible paths, but I couldn't so I had no choice but to jump. There's no problem on map 2, as survivors just need to follow the directions & defend during moving an object blocking the path.

The finale is good, as there are enough supplies, including two gascan to fight the tanks. However, somehow the ending cutscene made me curious. Does it mean that there's a sequel after this campaign? I saw the helicopter going down, before entering the credits screen.

In short, I found no problem in this campaign, & though it's kind of short adventure, it's fun to play alone or with friend.

Good one, as long as players know how to handle cop zombie

Trying to play this, & it took 52 minutes for me to finish this campaign. Actually, there are two main difficulties. The first one is the frequent panic event. The second one is the lack of guides provided. There are some jumpscares that can surprise players in quick shock, but they're harmless. I got thrilled when a witch jumpscare was coming.

Map 1 is kind of short. There's no supply in the beginning of map 1, but there are some scattered at some locations ahead. The endless horde attacks happen near the end of map 1.

Map 2 has higher difficulty. What makes it difficult is because of the frequent panic event at certain areas & no guide. There are some tricky ladders on this map, in which players will meet a dead end when they can't figure out the ladders. My clue is, look at the walls carefully during exploring the map. Then, the real challenge happens when survivors have to crouch at a watery path below the ruins in order to proceed. The endless panic events are triggered at certain location, & some cop zombies are included in the horde. Crouching zombies have no effect in bashing during crouching, so the cop zombies are automatically immune from attack from the front. There's a trick though, but based on luck. If lucky, either on map 1 or during exploring map 2, you can find incendiary/ explosive ammo packs. Equip the gun with that ammo, & preserve it till the crouching moment. The ideal choice of primary weapon is either any smgs or rifle, as those weapons have 50 ammo in one magazine. Set the mouse to be able to shot a single shot, either by a special button on a gaming mouse or by mouse wheel. Just use the incendiary/ explosive ammo on the cop zombies, & use secondary or melee to other zombies. Or, you can use vomitjar found on early locations (if lucky), throw it somewhere & leave that crouching area as soon as possible. There is a labyrinth area too, & there's a tricky ladder at this area (check my clue about the tricky ladders to find the ladder).

Map 3 or the finale is the most frustrating, due to no guide for the rescue location. The location of the radio is easy to find, as it's just a revisited map from map 2. There are some good spots to camp, including a closed room with only two ways out. After 2nd tank is dead, it will be a hell if survivors can't find the rescue location soon, because the endless panic events mixed with special infected & one tank per kill will be triggered. Well, there are 2 clues for me to help from frustration. One is, you stay near the ruins where the radio is located after the 2nd Tank is dead, you're more likely to die. Two is, memorize the areas before starting the finale event, & you can also go back to the starting point to track back every possible path, & one of them is the rescue location.

In overalls, it's a short but challenging campaign. It can also be frustrating due to the frequent horde attack, some areas that give the horde great benefit, & the lack of guides. I checked the bot navigations, but there's no problem as they worked well. I suspected certain bot mods causing the bot navigation errors, because when I tested with my own "Survivor Bots" mod with only one cvar command to make bots stay closer to players or without that mod, bots worked well. In short, this short campaign is good, as long as players are prepared for things on map 2 & map 3 I mentioned above. I'm keeping this in my addons folder to play with friends later.

Good chapter to enjoy

I have played this three times, & I could still enjoy this campaign. I finished this campain in about 30 minutes. It's true that some water locations on map 1 are deadly. One of the bots got charged & died drowning together with a charger. Map 2 has a glitch at the gate. In my last play, I jumped for fun & luckily I could jump over the gate without having to turn on the generator. Map 3 is challenging in a part when survivors have to open the warehouse door with alarm trap & run to the saferoom with endless horde & special infected. I grabbed a melee weapon during that time, & let bots take care of the special infected as I was clearing up the path. The finale at the cemetery is wide. There are many places to defend. Actually I expected a cutscene of how survivors escape by driving the vehicle instead of the screen just turning black & going into credits screen.

In overalls, though it's kind of short adventure, I found no problem about the bot navigation. The supplies are enough, & some are scattered in some rooms. One of good campaigns to play again & again.

It's about finding keys and paths, so patience is the key

Updated my review. I took 2 hours & 3 minutes to clear this campaign in Singleplayer after figuring out all the key locations. Many areas are very dark so flashlight doesn't help much. Map 1 is dark & dangerous in the beginning, because in my play, there's a tank coming when we still only had a pistol. Fortunately, the location was good for "playing" with a tank, so I moved in circle in the corridors & ran when there's a chance. Just watch out, because there's a dead end path somewhere at the corner. All maps are about finding keys & path, so it needs a good memory to memorize the paths where the locked doors are.

First is map 1. In the updated version, there's additional feature about finding keys. In the old version, survivors just needed to figure out how to enter some rooms behind the locked doors. In this new versions, there are 2 keys required to open the building door & the saferoom door. The hints are clear enough here, so players should be able to find. One key is not dropped on the floor, because a corpse has it. Where is the corpse? Just explore carefully & look at the hints, & then you'll find it.

Map 2 has no update, I think, because the paths & objectives are still the same. The hill is one of dangerous locations here. One attack from a charger can throw some survivors down the hill and cause instant death, while the charged survivor will also be brought down to the hill with the suicide attack. Some doors here can only be unlocked by breaking them either by gunshots or melee weapon attacks, but some certain doors require melee weapon attack to open. Map 2 is very long, so play carefully because if the team is dead, it will take quite long time to walk.

Map 3 in the new version has higher complexity than the old version. In the old version, map 3 was just about a maze of misty town & how to find a way to the hotel. The updated version added 4 keys at several random locations. The drawbacks here are the clues & the glows. The ingame clue is only provided inside the store. There's a map preview with possible locations of the keys in the changelog, but normally without that in the changelog, the key finding process would take very long time. I failed on my two tries when trying not to peek at the map preview in changelog. Even after peeking at the map preview, I had to explore more thoroughly to find the exact location. Well, to help other players from frustration, I think I'll give some clues about the exact locations. There are 8 possible key locations: 1. The store backyard (look for pile of boxes); 2. The park across the store; 3. The parking area across the gas station (the backyard); 4. The apartment on 2nd floor; 5. The cafe (kitchen room); 6. The bus stop; 7. Gronland (around red house); 8. Parking area northwest of the Gronland (I forget the name of the restaurant. The parking area, not the tables).

Map 4 is about finding keys in the hotel. There are 3 keys. The path is clear. As long as players follow the paths & check every room carefully, they'll find the keys in no time. I don't need to give clues on the keys here, because I think it's not complicated enough to find the key locations here.

Then, map 5. In the old version, this map is only about a journey through very wide hazy towns & hills to reach the saferoom building. The updated version added 1 key to open the saferoom. The key location is random at 3 different locations. For players who play this for the first time without seeing the map preview in the changelog, they will get frustrated easily, because they're looking for a thing that's not dropped on the floor. I'll help ease the frustration on this part too, because I know how frustrating it is to look for a key at such very wide area. Not really a key though, because it's a corpse, like map 1. From 3 possible key spots, I only found 2 during my 3 tries including the full play. The clues are related to survivor's dialogues, so listen carefully & look closely at the subtitles. Survivors will say something when reaching certain areas, & when they do, try to look around. At least I found 3 places where survivors suddenly talked. & btw, bot navigation here is bugged a little. At the location with a ladder up to a building, bots prefer going from the first floor instead of following players to climb the ladder. Because of that, players have some disadvantages if they meet special infected during waiting bots to go up.

Map 6 made my eyes hurt for a moment, because the view of certain areas kept changing in few seconds of interval. The difficult part is when survivors arrive at the areas with high technology & many monitors. I had no idea about the use of the monitors, as I think they just provided some stories. The real objectives are to find ID cards to open doors & elevator.

The finale is the trickiest. Players need to think & have a courage to take a path, as the areas on the finale are mostly white or very bright so some paths blend into the white colour. The other reason is because some paths are hidden until players move few meters near the hidden paths. The only drawback on this finale is no special infected, witch or tank at all. So, the main objective of the survivors is only to find the paths to the teleporter. Pay attention to the notifications as they can help figure out where to go next. & in the latest update, the incoming attack is active, & special infected & tank start to spawn when survivors reach certain areas. There are more than 2 tanks here, but they only come in pair, I think. The area where the pair of tanks spawn is very wide so it shouldn't be a problem in fighting them. There are also lots of supplies & molotovs in the previous room, so, if you know how to juggle items, you'll have more than enough firepower to face a pair of tanks.

In short, this campaign is not a linear one where players only need to follow single path to the saferoom. All maps are fully explorable, & can make players get lost easily. The lack of direction adds the difficulty, as few instructions only appear after players find the keys, & the pathfinding is fully up to the players or in other words, there's no guide arrow. Some house symbols exist, but not many & only on some maps. For the supplies, they're mostly scattered around the maps. Some saferooms have supplies, but the rest of them don't. But that gives more fun as survivors don't have a choice but to explore the maps thoroughly to fin
